    Since you got SDR++ working on a RPi5, could you make a video on how to get it working?

    There is a SDR focused Distribution called DragonOS (Ubuntu) for Raspberry Pi and Intel CPUs

      I'd recommend using that, or pisdrOS instead of the RPiOS

      I have had the Dragon OS running on my Dell Inspiron 7559 for a few years very good for ham radio user, has everything the an amateur needs already installed you don't have to do like I did years ago trying to install things from the terminal a lot of times would not work fooling around for hours or days. 👍👍👍 I saw other people already made comments about it also.

    Instead of the RPi OS, I'd suggest using DragonOS or pisdrOS, both come with SDR tools already compiled for use

      I agree that DragonOS is fantastic, but that's not really the scope of this video. DragonOS will not teach anyone how to install applications on a pi, etc etc. But I do agree, DragonOS for those that know how to use a Pi and the Pi OS.

      Additionally...
      DragonOS is great, but it is fairly heavy on the RPI and performs more slowly in my experience on a Raspberry Pi.
      Installing just the base components you want can make the install more optimized
      Certainly.. I would recommend DragonOS for anyone that does not want to do a lot of install and tweaking...
      It's great to have so many options.
      Thanks Tech Monds for great videos.
      You inspired some of my mission in Software defined radio .
      Stay tuned

    Why you don't show how to set up SDR++ on Rpi5?

    Great video.. great resource. Just for fun… I run all of these on a Mac Mini left in the back.. access it remotely in the field anywhere with Macs remote screen from an iPad

    Hi I am aTotal linux noob. Closest vid to what I want to acheive, so thanks. So first I tried to follow the commands by painfully pausing, almost had it. In the end I downloaded the book. FATAL mistake/error when I cut and pasted (p.196) "sudo rm -rvf...." It basically render my install & 500gb of data Gone! So the question is that command line erroneous? thanks

    5:10 pretty sure that command should spell aplay, not aply so that the received wbfm signal gets played back in the speakers.

    will the instructions in the book still work for Raspberry Pi 4 ?

    • @TechMindsOfficial
      @TechMindsOfficial  4 месяца назад +3

      I believe so yes, although the performance won’t be as good compared to a pi5. Also, depends on the application.

      In the olden days people used to use dried wood pulp with some form of marking device, some called it a pen or pencil, even a scribe. That was then used to make markings on this dried wood pulp, and others used to look at those markings to learn. Very strange indeed!

    My rtl sdr v3 stopped working with sdr# but is still working with other apps. Can you please help me resolve the problem?

    • @kaptainkaos1202
      @kaptainkaos1202 4 месяца назад +2

      That should immediately tell you the SDR works and something is wrong with the SDR# app. Remove and reinstall SDR#. It might be the drivers although I say it’s probably not.
      Update us after you reinstalled SDR#.

      You know, you can ask an AI for this stuff nowadays. It answers day and night and can be quite good at spotting all the possible things that might have gone wrong.

    • @bbassem798
      @bbassem798 4 месяца назад +1

      @johanhendriks I tried all the possibilities but came to nothing unfortunately. There's only one thing I didn't think about which is windows 11 updates. I'm lost by the way.

      @kaptainkaos1202 I did it many times, I even reset my computer, but there's nothing. 🤔

      Perhaps remove sdr# and in a second time windows ? And move to linux ?
      A joke, of course, but that's what i've done 😅

    How does it do with heat?
    I had an RPI4 (8gb) inside an Argon One (actively cooled aluminum case) that I tested SDR on over a weekend, and it had the processor completely maxed out the entire time and after that weekend was extremely hot to the touch. I bought a $100 quad core HP G800 for the task and it didn’t max the processor out or make me nervous at how hot the case was.

    • @TechMindsOfficial
      @TechMindsOfficial  4 месяца назад +2

      The case I have here has a fan inside, never had an issue with it and it’s been on for a couple of weeks now.
