@@78konjo I wouldnt be surprised if it was an issue with the label and not the band itself when it comes to Imagine Dragons since those guys seem like huge League fans, however if they were signed to colab through their label they that might be who owns the rights to the song, also they probably got smarter with writing contracts in the future

fun fact (they mentioned it on the twitch chat, but i think he missed it): the amumu song was composed and sang by christian linke, the showrunner and cocreator of arcane. He built the riot music team. Really impressive work hes done.

Note that in Get Jinxed, she starts the video by winding up the monkey and sets it off, she lowers her head then has a dream and is shocked awake as the monkey is slowing down. Jinx is implied to not be able to get rest *unless* there's a tonne of noise around her.

One of the showrunners for Arcane, Chrstian Linke, used to be the lead composer for Riot Games Music and was the vocalist on Curse of The Sad Mummy. He was previously in a rock band in Germany. Found his way to customer support at Riot and worked his way up the ladder. Incredible talent.
He still IS the lead composer of riot.

The Get Jinxed, Rise, and KDA Popstar were animated by Fortiche the lead animators for Arcane. I don't know if they also worked on the Tales of Runeterra trailers because its so similar style.

Fun fact : The reason so many people love Awaken and why it is so important is that it's the very first cinematic that actually contains real lore, and continues stories that were in progress at that time, Riven's capture by Noxus, the second invasion of Ionia, and Camille's investigation in Piltover.
Up until now LoL cinematics were mostly Worlds hype videos, Skin ads, or focused on a single champion. Awaken was the first to be a *story* cinematic.
Only thing that doesn't make sense in there is Sion.

@@GentlyUsedFrog that’s because I believe that wasn’t the first Noxian invasion, that’s a future one. Karma and the Kinkou didn’t participate in the first one and Irelia was way younger in the first one. So that was a glimpse of Noxus invading Ionia once again.
I love how everyone who watched arcane and now reacts to the trailers/music videos understands why everyone wanted an animated series - and why everyone KNEW riot is gonna nail it.
Riots balancing team may be on some weird shit sometimes, and you might also just not like their games in general - but in terms of cinematics they just DONT MISS.

Looking forward to embrace more details with the lore and the champions. All these small details are showcased in game design and skill set, linked with the lore.
ex. Jhin is an Ionian(china korea japan inspired region) artist who deems death as an art. he shoots 4shots of bullet with fixed attack speed, ingame(usually these roles gain much attack speed)
and hits HARD with 100% crit chance with his 4th shot. 4 means death, in Asian culture. 4 pronounced [shi] and [shi] is the same sound with 「死」meaning death.(at least here in Japan.)
So usually 4 is a taboo number in many cases. Jhin is the fan favorite pinnacle of RIOTs champion design.
knowing these little details will boost your experience further, even for the sequels of ARCANE and more to come(i wish)

Man this is what I love about league, people always think that anything made from video games like movies, shows, music are always just a meme or they’re bad (and I bet Kieran wasn’t expecting them to be that good seeing that he literally said oh wow this is actually good), but league they take this seriously, the music videos and everything they’re not a meme they are actually good and legit songs.

Camille, the lady with blade legs who was fighting Jhin, is from the clan Ferros from Piltover. If you remember, the first time we see Mel in Arcane she is talking about the clan Ferros

On the original Kda song, the reason they made it was that worlds that year was in Korea, so they felt it was a fitting theme.
On the Awaken one, if you look at the scene after Draven (Darius' brother) threw the weapons, you'll see that he broke her chains to fight her as equal
The best part about that Pentakill music video and skin set is that each one of them is based off an actual rock musician. Karthus - Gene Simmons from KISS, Mordekaiser - Dave Brockie (Odorus Urungus) from GWAR, Yorick - Slash from Guns and Roses, Olaf - Vinnie Paul form Pantera.

@@ChocolateKieran I mean, check out the pentakill lost chapter concert :) It was fun! Some people complained about the graphics but honestly it was pretty awesome to watch a game studio make an interactive online concert with some of the best tunes I've heard in recent memory. The lore was so well thought out as well! The pre-concert scrolling art style 'cinematics' really fleshed out the situation of the conflict that made for the central focus of the concert so would probably recommend watching them before or during stream :)
Fun fact! I think you missed the one who said it in the chat but Get Jinxed was animated by Fortiche the same animators who made Arcane! And that was their very first collab with Riot!

The rhinoceros in "Get Jinx" is also the same as the plush under the bed when the enforcer searches the room in Arcane.
Korean players have dominated the pro-scene for quite a while and to this day are still a major powerhouse, so Riot has a pretty strong relationship with Korea. Also, League of Legends' rise in popularity globally matches pretty closely with the rise of kpop's global popularity through the 2010s. It was just really good timing for both of those industries to meet together and collaborate for K/DA - POP/STARS.
Yea. That Jinx video was her champion reveal/intro. They definitely had a blueprint of character dynamics even further back when they conceived of Vi. At the time Go and Jinx were incredibly unique characters for the game.

fun fact since you were commenting on the different animation styles: riot USUALLY hires different animation studios and/or small animators for each event that needs it, this gives more animation companies and animators the opportunity to become popular and get recognition (as an animator with the dream of working for riot myself I appreciate this a lot)

Fiddlesticks is basically the embodiment fear. He uses a scarecrow as a body but it is a spirit that can possess anything.
Probably the 3rd strongest Character Lore wise behind Aurelion Sol and Kindred. And i think he is a Demon not Spirit.
The lady with blade legs and AOT stuff is Camille from House Ferros - one of the biggest families of Piltover, along with House Kiramman and House Talis etc... Im highly sure that she will be one of the main characters in Arcane SS2 cause she's a important character to Piltover but Riot kept her away from the entire SS1. Her lore is really really interesting too, you should check it out.
It's amazing how many of the non-arcane characters you're starting to recognize on-site, even when they have skins on, despite never having played the game.
A quick explaination of the past and current lore of Darkin :
- In the original lore, the Darkin were a race of demons that was almost entirely exterminated except for five individuals who became trapped in weapons. Those five were Aatrox, Rhaast, Varus, and two others that weren't known. At one point the writers decided they didn't want to deal with another race of creatures unrelated to anything else in the game, so they retconned that.
- In the current lore, the Darkin are fallen God-Warriors of Shurima. The God-Warriors are protectors of Shurima, who go through a ceremony using the Sun Disc to become inhabited by the power of the celestials (like Nasus, Renekton and Azir). After millenia of battles against the Void and the use of blood magic, they became insane and blood-thirsty, and were trapped in their own weapons to contain them during the great Darkin war.

FYI Worlds MV's usually show the venues, Big Ben/London, Paris, Staple Center, etc. Best cinematic to date is still Awaken, best story/feels is Curse of the Sad Mummy (piano intro hits and I'm sobbing) and KDA will live rent free in your head forever now. I just feel it worth pointing out: As you've guessed, the whole scene is from the mind of Jhin, the "Artist" (in the loosest sense of the word). The reality is much, MUCH darker. His traps, if I'm not mistaken, are actually explosives fueled by magic, full of razor wire - so, the explosions and colorful clouds are, in reality, just geysers of blood, guts and body parts.
Jhin is just THAT twisted. He sees it all as beautiful.
And that's why we love him !

a few years ago League created KDA as promo for their Worlds fest/championship. because Ahri already had her old pop star skin, they decided to make a concept kind of alike. they ended up taking some of the most loved female characters from the game, each having a dominant role and different background. Akali being their chinese but also korean speaking rapper, Evelynn is their vocalist and sound producer, Ahri is their korean lead singer and founder of the band and Kai'sa is their south african/chinese choreographer. the team that created this concept have a video explaining their process on it uploaded on league's official channel too!
If you are interested in seeing something from the Worlds, I recommend watching 3 videos they are 7 min mini documentaries about memorable moments from the Worlds, the names of the videos are:
Weight of the World, The Longshot and Giantslayers also have a playlist on the LoL channel with only videos from the worlds like Opening Ceremonies and Orchestral Themes that are pretty cool
So fun fact about the Ignite music video (the Zedd song): all of the different scenes are based on iconic plays from previous (up to that point) Worlds tournaments. There's actually another separate video that's a compilation of those plays if you wanted to compare.
My favourite parts of this video were how mad he was at Jinx's monkey because of Arcane, and how much he enjoyed Pentakill

The Darkins were Shuriman god warriors who became corrupted by voiced from the Void and then sealed in weapons by an aspect(Zoe’s ancestor, that also teaches humans how to.) because of that.
Note :
A Darkin is an ascended (a godworrior of shurima) that as been touch by the void & driven mad. Darkin where so mad that they went full rampage in which they learned blood magic so they can resurect in anybody that are close those them or their corpse.
They were sealed in their weapon but if you come to close to it... they use you to revive once again.
About the "content afterwards" part, I'd honestly suggest looking at the Legends of Runeterra champion reveals before looking at the roster in full. This is mostly because I feel like a lot of the reveals give a good bit of character personality, and when you do get around to the full roster it might help with putting more to the character besides just the art for lots of the roster (besides what you've seen in previous cinematics.)
The Darkin (Aatrox, Varus and Rhaast) are Ascended (like Nasus, Renekton, Xerath and Azir) that were afflicted with void corruption / mental scars of war (both are implied but could be just one of them). Ascended are immortal but they have the minds of mortals (ish) but after the Void War (long story, TLDR: Void rift opened up in the Southern Continent and Shurima went to war to push the Void creatures back) they still had pupose in serving Shurima and their emperor.
However, when Azir died and Shurima fell the afflicted Ascended were left without purpose or guidance, driving them made. This led to the Darkin War where the twisted Ascended fought amongst themselves, with humans in the crossfire. As the centuries passed they learnt many primal magics (e.g. blood magic) and shaped their bodies to be stronger, becoming unreconisable as Ascended, now the fully distict Darkin. As the Darkin War came to an end the remaining Darkin trapped eachother in their own weapons and wielded them until no actual Darkin remain, all being trapped within their weapons.
The remaining Darkin (theorised as 5, but there could be more) were hidden away so no mortal would attempt to wield the weapons in a foolish grab for power. However this didn't last. First some nameless guy picked up Aatrox (trapped in a sword) allowing him to take over his body and walk the world once more. Then the two Ionian hunters jump into the pool holding Varus (the bow) allowing Varus to fuse the 3 of them, body and soul. The fusion remains incomplete as of yet, but Varus has nominal control. Finally, Kayn is a prodidious member of the Order of Shadow that was sent to destroy Rhaast (the scythe), but instead took Rhaast for his own to wield. It has made him stronger but he constantly must fight Rhaast to stop him from taking control (a feat that should be impossible, yet Kayn is just that strong).
Sorry for the info dump, I left out a most of the stuff to keep it short but I'm summerising a lot here. I would strongly recommend going to the League Universe website and reading all of the Champion biographies, they are very good for getting a good idea of things (plus there is a map of Runeterra there as well).
Quick history on darkins:
Shurima (this desert region/country) had this ritual called the ascension, where worthy people could get the power of the sun making them big, Immortal, strong and sometimes have supernatural abilities.
These ascended used to fight back the void; but, as the void corupts everything it touches, in time they too were driven mad by it.
And so they had to be trapped into their weapons.
There is a running theory that shimmer is related in some way to the void this would explain all its effects, it's color and why it corrupted the hex-core when Victor used it
To explain the hole 4 story, Jhin is a character with 4 auto attacks that he counts when atqing. The fourth one deals a lot more damage. Then he needs to recharge his gun. And when he shoots the last bullet, he sometimes says: 4!!
He's generally just obsessed with the number 4, he thinks it represents perfection in some way or something to that effect. I enjoy videos of the true Jhin mains denying themselves a pentakill because the quadrakill is the pinacle of Jhin gameplay.

"Get Jinxed" "Warrior" and "Rise" are made by Fortiche Studio (so the studio who made Arcane) I love how we can see the evolution and how they are so good now (but they weren't credited first T-T)

The Darkins were warriors who gained strength from the Sun's disk and fought for Emperor Azir, but he died. the warriors then had no emperor to command them, so over time they began to rage and fight among themselves. The Targon gods (targon is a mountain) figured out how to handcuff them, so they sealed them in weapons and hid them so that no one could find them.
The guy who sings the Amumu song is Christian Linke, that is the guy who wrote / created Arcane, together with Alex Yee.

Jhin is one of the most chased serial killer. He sees killing as a form of art (thats why his teaser is so beautiful).
Fun fact. He is obsseses with the number 4. Ingame he has 4 shots with his gun before he has to reload. His ult has 4 shots. His name has 4 letters and even when you type Jhin on the keyboard you are mimik the number 4.
I think Jhin is one of the best champion design Riot ever done.

It's a great bridge between their narrative content, music content, and esports content, and a really eye opening look at how insane the championships themselves have become.

a lil fun fact about jhin: even though he's ionian but he actually visits piltover regularly bcz he likes how advanced it is(he uses hextech in his guns as well) and thinks ionia is a downfall bcz they tend to stick with their traditions. he also had caused so many deaths and destruction not only in ionia but in piltover as well, even cait and other enforcers are after him and there are wanted posters of him in the city. the scene where he was playing the piano was actually in a theatre in piltover and you see dead bodies all over the place...then comes Camille (that white haired woman with her soldiers) and i won't spoil who she is cuz she might have an appearance in Arcane season 2 but know that she's someone that not even the high ranking people from piltover want to mess with...and btw the illusion thingy about jhin belongs to the old lore...in the new lore the things he sees aren't illusion bcz his bullets are infused with magic...there's actually a comic where he's the main antagonist and it explains that at first the ppl that he had killed (or his works of art lol) are like trees, flowers, have golden blood etc, but when you touch them the magic will disappear and you'll see their actual blood and guts...so yup, if you have any other questions about him just ask, I'll be all ears. keep doing the good job :)
At 46:32 - this is Camille. Their is a chance that she will appeare in Arcane (there are some hints that she has some intel about something that will maybe push further Vi's and Jinxes story. Also that dude playing the piano may appeare since he is linked to Camille.
i doubt jhin will appear since he's ionian, it makes no sense for him to be related to the story of arcane
if they will not delete the brakern souls on hex crystal plot.. she will definitely be in season 2.. Clan Ferros are the leaders in mining those crystals in shurima.. so maybe in season 2 well will get how Jayce got those..

I wouldn't say they've been working on Arcane for THAT long, but they've been building the lore for a decade. So, Arcane was possible because of all that work. I still would love to see a "PROJECT" or "Star Guardians" themed series/movie.

In the first video when you were watching the 10 year old videos, I was waiting for you to react to Awaken because in my opinion it's one of their best cinematics to date.
K/DA is Riots Kpop girl group. It was originally to promote skins for the champions: Ahri(nine tail fox), Akali(rapper), Kai’sa(shoulder pieces), and Evelynn(nails and shades). It is now way more than that, they are a full fledged kpop group now. They even have their own EP and Lightstick! Their fandom are called BLADES

Kai’sa and Evelynn have been voiced by other artists as well in other songs.
This track recently went gold this year and the group has been beating records set my real kpop girl groups. They have done “photoshoots” with Louie Vuitton, Ducati, Elle Magazine and others. YES Awaken is in this! It also has such nice details like actually portraying a lot of the champion skills that they actually have in-game! That goes as far as having Jhin only fire 3 shots at Camille (robot 3d gear cop lady), saving his 4th shot behind his back as he bows down! In-game his weapon only allows him to fire 4 shots before having to reload, with the 4th shot being an empowered shot.
IDK if anyone pointed it out but in Awaken theres a really popular theory that what we're seeing is the fight from the POV of Jhin. All those colorful explosions are actually just blood splatering everywhere but because of Jhins delusions he sees a beautiful firework display.

The jinx video was before they started working on it. Think if not as they were designed at the same time, but the things you see in arcane are homages or taken from the music video.

Varus is a darkin, an old group of shurimarian descendants that became corrupted and were sealed into weapons, there are only 5 remaining. The darkin weapons corrupt their holders and possess their bodies, Atrox is a good example, and kayn is fighting with his weapon for control. Varus, on the other hand, one of the lovers tried to save the other lofe's using the darkin, but varus noted that one is strong while is next to the other, so instead he fused both of them in one body and the darkin took the control of them.

Ignite visuals are a compilation of memorable moments in League's competitive scene, they depict teams overcoming losing matches and adversity. Except Faker, he's just asserting dominance as the current champion at that time xD
Regarding Jhin, he's an assassin that treats his work as art. Every piece of paint, smoke or light you see it's actually the way he sees his art, the people are actually exploding or bleeding out.
I would highly recommend the LoL Stick figure spotlights and the Summoners showdown animations. Done by fans, one even got shown at a LoL event. They're so fun.
Missed out on the second warriors cinematic, which is a shame. Was looking forward to your reaction on that one. Otherwise it was fun hearing your thoughts.

Loved this so much! Honestly, Riot makes great music and they do really try with their music videos. When K/DA first came out, it was kind of looked down upon bc it's kpop, but as more people actually gave it a watch, it became very popular xd! I'm very excited for part 2! Have an amazing day
