Frankie De Jong And Mikky Kiemeney. Frenkie had been in a relationship with Mikky Kiemeney since he was a teenager, long before the young Dutchman signed for Ajax.
Kiemeney, a former HC Den Bosch hockey player, met Frenkie in high school and the two have been together ever since.
De Jong began his career at Willem II, and his girlfriend followed him through the minor divisions before he made his first team debut in May 2015, playing 22 minutes against ADO Den Haag.
Three months later, he joined Ajax for €1, with other players moving on loan in the opposite direction.
Ajax then agreed to a cost of €75 million for a summer move with Barcelona, making his fantasy a reality.
To put De Jong's remarkable move into context, he and his partner Kiemeney were supporters at Camp Nou in 2015.
Kiemeney celebrated his transfer by posting the following on her Instagram last month:
"On November 30, 2015, as supporters, we traveled to the Camp Nou and witnessed a game of your dream club."
"The day you can tell the world you're going to play for your dream club is January 23, 2019. You turned that enormous ambition became a reality. I can't wait to spend every minute of it with you. We're going to make your fantasy a reality "She stated.
