Great to hear that everything is fine with Nitos and Bruno, it seems like the worst is over.

The worst is over! Now, we have experience, and we will be less nervous in the coming years. It's a process. Onyx and Pacha were training them!

Herd or Family? 3 August 2024
    Llamas, alpacas:
It's nice to have a large herd
    For pride and profit...
    But it's nicer still
To have just two or three
    Who you are close to.
    You are in the herd.
    They know and trust you.
You are allowed to touch the.
    They eat from your hand;
    Your souls intertwine.
    Yes this is the best,
    Just enough to love!
They will learn to love you back.
They will die for you. Llamas at least

This is a discussion that we have had since the first days. How many alpacas change the farm from an intimate group to a set of numbers and alpacas that are mostly strangers?

Do you give your alpacas get vitamin D injections? Some owners
administer them every 2 weeks in northern climates where
sunlight is limited. That is why they sunbathe.
My mother was named Helen Mae Bichler. Her Norwegian mother
called her Hel May which I was wary of; Hel was the Norse goddess
    of the Underworld, hell.

We do not give vitamin D injections. During summer, the skies are clear almost every day. We administer oral vitamins as needed.
