This is an incredible projector and even the sound is surprisingly good. It takes a lot for Toid to say it's the best projector he's tested, but I believe it.
Great video. Great Projector. I bought one. Great brightness. Great picture. But, what’s the AWOL max. It has a CinemaScope setting. Couldn’t they just do a software update so that the AWOL 3500 pro gets it, without replacing the projector, if you wanted that option?
Can you imagine how much better the picture would be if the AWOL had the larger 0.65 DMD chip instead of the 0.47? Not only does it provide better contrast but it's also more reliable. Even budget long-throw projectors such as the ViewSonic X-1 4K are now using the larger chip, so it can't be down to cost. At present not a single UST projector on the market uses the larger chip.
I love this unit from AWOL. I wish it was about two thousand dollars cheaper though. TV's are getting bigger and cheaper. I love 3D and that gives AWOL the nod.
@@donjaun540 honestly it is so good that I started looking at some other projectors I have for review. I thought man these don’t look that good. Of course I’m comparing it to much more expensive projector. But I also reviewed the AWOL 2500, which is pretty amazing. And if you don’t need the extra brightness, I would definitely give that a huge nod.
@@Toid Yes I like the middle model which I've seen on sale for $3k ish. Very nice and 3D is a must for me. I think 🤔 I would still use a roll away or on wall TV for all my regular junk viewing. Lower res and that way the projector is for movie viewing. 👍😎
What's becoming more and more prevalent to me is seeing just how many people have been duped into believing that they NEED a tv. Like, you're sitting 10-15ft away from your OLED 65" (what I'm currently doing, haha), 75", or even 83" and your eyes cant. even. see. the. 4k. detail. at that range let alone the micro-contrast OLED can provide. Like no bro, you need at least a 120" screen when sitting 12ft away to be able to even perceive the 4k detail in the screen, again let alone the incredible contrast OLED provides. These laser tvs are incredible....
No way the screen in the thumbnail is 150". It looks like 100-120" max. To my knowledge, there is no bigger motorized floor rising screen than 120". At least none that comes from any of the known projector / screen manufacturers.
Yes. I couldn’t find a 150” floor rising screen. Due floor space and my set up, I bought a 158” Sapphire electric ceiling mount screen. Not cheap. But great.
While the thumbnail is in fact incorrect if you actually watch the video, he states it is a 120 inch screen so the information in the actual video is correct. It is just mislabeled on the thumbnail.
The info in the video is accurate what you are talking about is called being clickbaited to choose their video over others is all nothing else is wrong here
@@paultravisano9403 I would love to see an acoustically transparent screen option. Although I don’t agree that there are no advantages. The main advantage still is how easy it is to move a projector. getting 100 inch television into a house or apartment around stairs corners and hallways is going to always be an issue. It’s something a lot of people don’t think about.
@Toid True good pont. I do believe the UST market is going to be a harder sell in the future as TVs/modular panels get bigger and cheaper and long throw projectors get brighter.
Gotta put in that 'honest' now 😅 .. .. FTC crack down.. .. im kidding.. I put honest on one of my impression videos... and someone said " Are you not honest the rest of the time? " 😅
It’s very bright projector but bad value for money. Hisense px3 pro offers just slightly dimmer picture for fraction of the price and has higher native contrast.
@@appdata007 not brighter, but highest brightness is only relevant when watching with ambient lights which still doesn’t look that good on AWOL. But half price for 10% less brightness is a great deal.
5k.. lol.. yeah, no thanks.. a 300 dollar china led projector get me 80% there. lets say you watch 200 movies with this thing. thats 25 dollar per movie.

Any chance of you doing a review of the Xgimi Aurora 2?
Wish some one would do a REAL 150 inch floor rising screen review.
How good is the contrast compared to the Valerion VisionMaster?
Awol's focus is the best

Can't wait for these to get 4k120hz and hdmi 2.1. If it can do 1080p120hz then it can do 4k120hz, just needs more bandwidth.

Gow does ot compare with formovie theatre 4k ?is ot gd or bad
So, does this mean you've gone AWOL?😁

There needs to be an Acoustically transparent screen option. Without that theres going to be no advantage as TVs keep getting bigger.
