Her vision is insane. She has such an incredible way of finding open teammates who can also shoot the 3's. The biggest compliment about Caitlin is the way she speaks about her teammates FIRST every time she is interviewed. It is NEVER "I", she is very unselfish but recognizes when she has a shot. @@nahor88 It's a fair question but a challenging dilemma for opposing coaches/defenses. Iowa was the #1 shooting 3-point team in the nation and their post is an absolute beast as well. With Caitlin's ball-handling, unrivaled court vision and elite passing, she finds open teammates who can knock down 3's, basket cut, seal defenders in the post and finish at the rim. If her teammates weren't so strong, doubling and face-guarding would be excellent, viable options.

It's really impressive how many of her points come in the flow of the offense - with that shot, she could vacuum up every ball and go for it, and it would be tough to gainsay it, but she makes the team very dangerous by being unselfish; defense cant pretend she's a one up match for anyone, and can't just double her and forget it. I am an 80's NBA fan, I haven't paid attention since the 90's. From a cursory exam Caitlin Clark is, like, 65% Larry Bird, 20% Dan Marjerle and 15% Kevin McHale.
Bird; come off the screen and nail it, get teammates involved, great help defender, makes amazing passes and demands the ball for the biggest shots. (and the king of trash talk, while backing it up.)
Marjerle; anything closer than half court is in range, take you off the dribble and slash through the lane.
McHale; Laughs at double (or triple) teams, dizzying array of shots to choose from in the post, finds a way to get a clean look at the hoop.
McHale was a superb face up defender and shot blocker. I haven't seen enough of Caitlin to know how her defense is.
I hope she has a long and productive career.
Thanks, Caitlin, for the amazing play and, hopefully, for greatness in the years to come.

@@jdneely9939 SC doesn't have to "burn the scoreboard" because they play better defense. SC has been winning by wider margins despite scoring fewer points. Generally speaking, when elite defense meets elite offense, elite defense wins. This is true in football and basketball.
