- This MK1 Rabbit was fully wrapped in 3M gloss Ivory and DI-NOC wood vinyl. After having some body work done on the drivers side it needed freshened up.

Learned to drive in an 84 Escort station wagon with the same faux trim. Was not sad to have wrapped that thing around a tree. This looks so much better.

okay. took me a bit, the color on the jams must be the original color of the car, the fenders and doors needed body work, car was primed and wrapped instead of resprayed, awesome job

I don't know about the wood look on the sides. It looks like a 80's chrysler
$20 spray gun from harbor freight and $20 worth of Rust-Oleum would've gotten that thing looking the same way with considerably less effort. Use the skills you got though. I like the motif.
I just use ashesive contact paper on my car,no air dryer needed.

I don't know what the inspiration was for this look but I do remember seeing it before about 40 years ago. In 78 Chrysler introduced the Dodge Omni and Plymouth Horizon which vere basically their version of the rabbit. They both had a wood grain paint scheme available like the one here.
