  • File_Share is an easy to install method of scanning paper documents. While scan to email is very popular, sometimes it fails. Sometimes, scan to emails take a long time to arrive. Maybe the documents you are trying to scan are too large to pass through your email server. File_Share is a great alternative. The scanned documents arrive instantly.
If your copier is equipped with OCR you can scan your documents into File Share as a Searchable PDF, DOCX and XLXS file formats. This can help with document management.

    For Apple OSX computers
On the desktop select Go from the menu bar along the top and then choose Connect to Server. In the search bar type in: smb://ip-address-of-copier. (Those are forward slashes, it's opposite to Windows.) That will bring up a box where you can select File_Share.

You need to be sure that the Toshiba copier's firmware is relatively up to date as Windows 11 will likely not allow old version below FW1210 to work. Depending on your model FW1900 is the latest.

I suspect the scanned file did not arrive in the File Share folder. The copier logs only contain the transaction data, not the file content. You cannot retrieve the files back.
