As a co-op player, all I see is Invaders spamming Mesmer's bloody spear AoW, and causing huge AoE damage, area denial and mad poise. Invaders are 100% using broken BS. I've tried invading with dryleaf arts and a themed build, and get deleted. It's not 'Invaders/Hosts unfair' its 'DLC AoWs and weapons are a whole other level of bullshit that everyone is on' lol. Fun, until it's absolutely not.

While I have no doubt this bug will get fixed, I think this weapon will still be a very solid pick for str/fth builds. It’s got the claymore base moveset, and the ash still does a boatload of damage, while its follow-up gives you a safety net if you miss
It is a netcode problem, it isn't gonna be fixed. The "problem" with this weapon is because people just mash, they don't respect it. The ash can easily be countered by rolling away then just punish with anything long range.

On NG5 and lvl 421 (over leveled to hell when it comes to PvP standards) and max scadu tree blessing and tested a lil Golden Crux build on the fire knight invader and (dmg varies in your level and stat spread) dealt over 10k dmg, 2 hitting him with the crux but the gear I went with is; - GS of Damnation - Deadly Poison Perfume Bottle (buffing tool) - any seal that’s light like Frenzy or Dragon Communion - Mushroom Crown - (Experimenting with) Gravebird’s Blackquill - Rakshasa Gloves - Verdigris Greaves (some poise and defense) - Dagger Talisman - Kindred of Rot’s Exultation - Shard of Alexander - (Experimenting with) Claw Talisman Wonder Physicks has Blood Sucking and Holy-Shroud. Great Rune used is Godrick’s. Incantations being the classics Golden Vow, Blessing of the Erdtree, and Flame Grant Me Strength. Currently going to remove the Grave Bird and Claw Talisman to see if they had any effect to the ash of war. [Update] Both Claw Talisman and Gravebird’s Blackquill doesn’t effect the Ash of War so those could be swapped to have more defensive armor or additional rakshasa armor pieces. Talisman/Cracked Tear Damage Update: I don't know if its due to a recent update but I just ran some tests and the dagger talisman provides 0 damage increase for the grab. Also its worth nothing holy damage multipliers effect the grab and aoe damage. Damage on the Storm Shack Rams Test: (Identical Build except I have extra mind as I am 214) 1918/1576 (no talismans) 2251/1849 (shard of Alexander) 2334/1915 (shard of Alexander and sacred scorpion) 2489/2039 (shard/scorpion + holy shroud cracked tear) 2987/2447(shard/scorpion + holy shroud / bloodsucking cracked tear) 3866/3172 (all of the above + erdtree, golden vow and flame grant me strength) You should definitely swap the light roll cracked tear for the holy shroud one and also incorporate the sacred scorpion talisman instead of the dagger talisman. I personally am removing the blade of mercy in favor of 2h talisman/dragon crest talisman.

I think that the issue with this weapon catching people in a roll is cause of latency, similar to how when you roll a bleed proc it will stun you but bot hurt. While this is a full on grab and a will still kill a player if it connects with latent players.
For anyone looking to min max. 63 str is a waste. At 54 str 2 handed, you get the equivalent of having 81 or so str, which is the best possible damage you can get. 63 str is unnecessary. Thanks for the video oro
This build will deal at most 1200 dmg even after buff, so its useless in the last pvp bracket or level 301+ because it goes all the way to level 713 and at that point player have more than 1200 hp. If want a critical focused ez invasion build its best to just use unseen form + assassin gambit to make you untargettable and backstab the host multiple time in row maybe throw in the darkness spell after the backstab in case you to rebuff mid fight and maybe a executionner greataxe with the kick ash of war for use against shield
have you considered using dragon form and blue dancer talisman ? I think that in most cases it does provide even more damage potential than the Rakshasa, especially with light weapons
Not worth the defense hit, 3/4 Raksasha pieces still provide a decent damage boost while not reducing your absorptions to nothing. I prefer running just 2 pieces to stay at 30% absorption, things hurt in this DLC.
There is no meta level for invasions or pve. RL 200 is fun because at that level, there's a lot of one shots. RL 150 is perfectly fine for a build. The dueling meta is RL 125 and has been since release and that won't change, although I don't think he really cares about the meta. Oro actually answered this on Twitch yesterday because someone else also asked him this.
Obviously a billion things are busted in the dlc but this feels specifically nasty. The mental amount of s, damage, aoe, gap close, and hyper armor is honestly mental haha. If you remvoe the s and the hyperarmor i think it would actually be balanced. If it gets nerfed just remove or lower those two things and itll be fine.

am i the only one who is missing the holy tear and holy scorpion talisman for this? you can literally swap the healing talisman for the scorpion which gives you 20% buff in holy damage and the swap to a better armor with more resistances alsp replace the winged tear for the holy tear and you might dont even need the buffs or the other dagger talisman that increases your damage just saying, it is missing a lot of damage

Unless you roll away in a perfectly straight line to get out of it's distance, it will grab you. It cares not that you're in a roll and have i-frames, it can and will grab you anyway. And if you somehow have just enough vitality to survive getting one-shot by it, there's a high chance it will double-hit you due to latency and kill you anyway. There is only one counter to this build - run for the hills! Run for your life!

There's neat feature in Elden Ring called "Rolling."
You can't roll through this, it grabs through i-frames.
Unless you roll away in a perfectly straight line to get out of it's distance, it will grab you. It cares not that you're in a roll and have i-frames, it can and will grab you anyway. And if you somehow have just enough vitality to survive getting one-shot by it, there's a high chance it will double-hit you due to latency and kill you anyway. There is only one counter to this build - run for the hills! Run for your life!
