This has all been widely known for a long time, but it's never a bad idea to remind folks.
it seems redundant but yes. Some people just believe what they're told.
Maybe do a Google search to find out it’s false.
@@WhataBurger4Lifeits not , blackrock and vaunguard are behind this , google it

He's a Bolshevik Zionist
Exactly. Total mockery!!
He's right on....there are private prison industries that HAVE to be kept full....the gov't plans it.....keep em full.

@@JamesBrown-du2nn how disgusting,
For those that don't research it...the companies that 'own' prisons are mutual fund companies that also own stock in record labels.
THAT'S the connection.
Yes, eyeroll....
Exactly
Fidelity, Vanguard, Schwab, etc… own prisons you mean?
Kinda what bill said "... i could see THAT..." meaning exactly this being the case. Im not believing its any more than to this extent until i see some proof.
Ice cube's making some giant leaps here. I read it as 'big white conspiring to keep blacks down'. Right, of course. It couldn't be that blacks from 15-25 are making up more than half of the robbery/murder (per fbi stats) while making up 3% of the pop. Nah, probably just racism. But but, black people just get picked on by meanie cops... right, cops only patrol black neighborhoods. Yup...

Always found it sus that Bob Barker owned the company that makes prison/jail mattresses 🤔
In other words, rap music was in the same sense as what Shorting the housing market was...... The banks and lender know it was a bad idea, but damn if it's not making us SOOOO much money.
I know a lot of artists who are told that some of their songs are not going on the record and what is going to go on the record. They are told to kill songs that they love and want to put out.
Imprisonment is not a legitimate form of "justice", in fact it's not justice at all.
Justice functions to "make whole" those who are wrong.
The only legitimate "crimes" prosecuted have actual victims, and the only just consequence is one that addresses what happened to that victim.
The whole function of imprisonment is to AVOID actual justice, allowing the rulers to punish people unjustly.
The punishment is not connected to actual victims.

It occurred to me this morning why religious people don’t have lives- “they give them to God” (or they are hypocrites) - Oliver Stone’s critique on cinema actually might be onto something 🥂🍾

Bill M, maybe do a podcast comparing the following:
“Men labored all day at the baking of breads and cakes for feasts for the rich and children labored from dawn to midnight and slept all greasy and grimed as they were upon rough pallets on the floor and staggered to the ovens next day, and there was not money enough given to buy a piece of the rich breads they made for others.” - Modern Day (“Wealthy & Powerful”) USA/GOP Economic Policy + Walmart or THE GOOD EARTH by Pearl S. Buck?
Social engineering is everywhere nowadays. Good thoughts, Ice 🧊
Hard!!
Creating an environment that enforces bad behavior in others to benefit yourself. Cruel man handy tactic. Used in this instance, just as it is also used to sexualize our children in school.
Could you imagine how much worse it would have been if the CIA had pushed the black community to listen to Bill Maher instead of gangster rap? *shivers*

Ice cube nailed it..People need to use their minds eye and ears and think / educate research / before acting on their endeavors in life....life is about choices. Make the right choice ppl.

What's a private prison all I know is city state and federal prison. How do you end up in a private prison?
Private prisons are growing faster than government funded prisons. And what's even more crazy is that many politicians who write the laws also own stock in private prisons. America has more people in prison than any other country in the world, including China and India which have populations 3× bigger. America, home of the free?
@acetate909 right everybody says that. My question is how do you end up in a private prison.
@@Qnzdipset1
It's random. Depends on what state and city you live in. There's no official sentence for a crime that gets one sentenced to a private prison. Just unlucky I guess, because as you'd expect private prisons pinch every penny and are significantly worse than state prisons.
I have always thought this to be true but I also felt like I was being a little conspiratorial so it’s nice to have it from the horses mouth that this is what was happening all along 😮
Imagine how much further ahead the black community would have gotten if hip-hop would have stayed positive like it was in the beginning.
It was a a Cubs game not what you said!!!!
Imagine beeing sentence to prison called " Death Row"
Do t have to be a prison named it when that’s the one part of every prison you don’t wanna be is “Death Row” and now suge knight in prison crazy right
And like he said itsnot just music.. Many things these private prisons contribute to, people dont tealize.. imagine being in a hospital and not knowing all the blankets and sheets were made by prisoners 👀 Its true though
I wonder who controls and owns the entertainment industry ?

THIS TALK NEEDS TO BE HEARD BY BLACK YOUTH
I think it may be fair to say Bill is about as politically aware as the hosts of the view
I really respect Mr. Cube for acknowledging the truth that not all but a lot of hip hop music glorifies criminal and violent mentalities that can lead to brainwashing young people who listen to it which leads to some of them getting in trouble with the law and ending up in prison.
It's secondary whether some music executives are directly pushing for that because they have investments in private prisons. There are plenty of rappers who are all too eager to make music like that, and they don't need any pushing from anyone else to want to focus on that. Mr. Cube himself used to be like that and he has made tons of music like that, and it's fair to guess that there are people who ended up imprisoned or who are still in prison in part because of his music having had an effect on influencing and hypnotizing them to want to be involved with illegal and violent activities.
Mr. Cube should really focus more on this realization that he has had, and he should really try to use his influence as much as possible to make things in hip hop music more positive.
that is some headline. i usually unsub for that type of crap.
This explains the shit music I've been hearing that last decade.
talk to some average American BILL!
Lemme get this right...the labels don't write the lyrics or make the music, but they're guilty of "social engineering" for publishing it? WHAT?!?!
You should hear the whole explanation. It's in the video. Get your patiency on.
Actually the industry has tons of ghost writers that write lyrics for famous rappers. But even if someone is writing all of their own lyrics it means that person is going to be signed and promoted by the industry if that artist promotes violence, drugs use/selling, over an artist who promotes a positive message.
Why does Bill Maher pretend he is George Burns?
And by the way Cube we remember how you turned your back on Khalid Muhammad
Says the guy making music that causes people to adopt a lifestyle that inevitably gets them thrown in prison. Can't make this up.
So he speaks to how the artist has to structure the music to the liking of a committee, and here are Europeans trying to debate cause/reason. How difficult is it to see the connection. My people stop taking issues of our community to those who have no interest in that same community. These are the same people who say Jesus is European. Although, he was hidden from King Herod among the land of Africa; one would be foolish to believe that Christ didn't look like the people of a land that he was being hidden among
That's black raps are conservatives on many issues especially gun control.
Mockery.
Who else thinks Prince was killed ?
Ding dong people did know this for decades you were sleeping
Hello, Elvis Presleys twin brother Jessie Presley the first born male child is not buried at Graceland with the Presley family members, the reason being they cannot find the body or grave of Jessie Presley, will Jessie Presley be one of the Great Signs from heaven spoken of in the book of (St.luke 21;11) and Great Signs shall there be from Heaven, The coming of Big Brother ? I'm afraid so, we should have knowen, "Sincerely your's", Joe Mankiewicz, "The Prophet".
Slightly confused how cube is still working but says alot but doesn’t name names! Another distraction
Bill Maher is so old and out of touch.
Why is Bill Maher always the biggest dunce in the room?
“The good part of socialism.” What? Wow Bill.
Don't buy into the victim BS. Conspiracies of collusion between music & prisons abound and it's one of the more pernicious myths in hip-hop. Connections to the dots are elusive, other than an assertion here or there that some stock market investors may incidentally have assets in both industries.
Sell out cube
Bill is a writer. This podcast generates income. Isn't he crossing the picket line on the writer's strike. Viola Davis was granted a waiver to do a film but refused because she didn't want to cross the picket lines. Why is Bill allowed to stab writers in the back?
HIs written show is off the air. There is nothing written here, there is no acting, no writers, no crossing of picket lines. Actors are free to go get a job interviewing people while the strike is going on.

Give us names Cube! You seem so knowledgeable yet you are unable to tell us names of people of company names.
How many young men went to prison emulating Ice Cubes music? These kids weren't listening to country and western before they did a drive by.
By that logic, all of us metal heads should be violent psychopaths, yet studies have shown we're the happiest genre of music
Cube was only rapping about what he saw everyday. Rappers are actors too. They are either rapping about their lives or their environment. Some just make up stories from imagination. Furthermore the execs stamp yes or no on what songs go out & Cube also spoke on the record execs making sure certain music gets put out going as far as scrapping an artists whole album if it isn’t spreading the messages they want out. Don’t ever forget the puppet masters when talking about this topic. Even being independent, you won’t get radio play unless you play ball so to speak. Cubes life is more reflected in his movies instead of his music. When he was young it was a different animal. He’s actually one of the good guys but I understand why you feel the way you do.
Do you have any idea how many county songs are about murder??? Dolly Parton’s first song was literally about a guy decapitating a woman and throwing her head in a river
