- First Salmon fishing adventure for this year and this one is just after replacing the transom in my Lund boat. Fished with friends Wally and Big City Bob. I owe a big thanks to Capt Cody from Blackout outdoors / blackoutoutdoorsinc for sending some of his hot rigs and location info with his dad Wally. Fun times
Hot flashers were from Pound Town Tackle / poundtowntackle
hit em' both, that fish was hungry...lol!
Nice catch Nick!! Nice video too, without all the dramatic music, like some of the yupee vids!
To prevent line being stuck in the treble hooks. Use the grey JB weld. To fill in the bottom of the treble hooks. Where the line pinch’s in. Or use the addya no bite hooks. That
salmon candy uses for hooks.
Let’s goooooo!!!!!!
Get'um Nick🎉
Nice to see my mans back in action
Just thinking the other day hoping there be salmon videos soon! Nice fish!
Wally is a Great net man
Love watching your video!!! Keep them coming NFN !!!!
Great video nick! I’m just getting ready to head that way for the KD tournament.. maybe I’ll see you out there!! Good luck and don’t forget your meat!!😂
Your buddy Wally knows how to handle a net!
Pretty impressed with those “pound town flashers! Where can a guy find them? You had one color there that was a killer!
Big city Bob
Nice video and nice fish man! Great video! I just uploaded a video myself and really enjoy your content!! Keep it up! 🤝🤝
You have a nice little set up on your boat! Enjoyed the video and your netting didn't suck!😊
Nice job! Curious why you didn't change your flooring to a vinyl floor when you worked on your boat? So much easier to clean up when fishing, especially salmon fishing!
I don't mind my carpet (feels more comfortable to me) so it's not a priority. Maybe I'll do it in the future.
Nice video! Curious how those standard walleye boards handle coppers. I wanted to add a 200 and 300 copper ro my lineup but ive heard you need the bigger boards but i see you have the standard size.
They work ok but the bigger Ziggy board style works much better. The walleye board does not do well with a 300 but I have used it. Good luck
Awesome vid! Did you fish the tournament last weekend? I seen Mike and Cody on the board
Yes I did with Cody. We caught fish but nothing big enough to place. I took video so if I get some time to edit ill post it.
Another awesome video! How long are your leaders for your dipsys by chance?
8 to 9ft on this adventure
Hi Nick, You helped me figure out how to use my Minnkota to steer my boat while trolling. Do you use legacy mode? I think I am using the advanced and that could be my problem. Thanks
I use legacy mode. Advanced wants to turn left all the time. Good luck
@@NoFishNicksAdventures Got it! Thanks Nick.
first time ive seen pound town on a channel i just picked up 5 of them and haven't fished them yet.... how long of a lead do you run your flys back of your flasher?
We use 24" lead on the 8" paddle.
Nick, noticed that you were not running removable Dipseys, Any reason why?
I ran one for my Starboard high dipsy on the Wednesday evening but the regular ones were getting hit so It didn't get back into the mix on Thursday morning. I'll be running them a lot during the KD next week
@@NoFishNicksAdventures I have been running them after watching your videos for several years. Last weekend, I broke one off at the knot on my wire rigger, and lost a nice fish, as well as my FF... What are using to tie your knots leaders with? I changed mine to 50# mono, slipped through some Leadcore jacket, but still a little concerned about another break off. It appears that my Roller rod struggles a little more to pass the knot, than my braid rods. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
@@gordonanderson2277 latest version is 80# hollowcore line with the leader mono/flourocoat line inside. Willis knot on the leader side and a Alberto knot on the rod side. Dropper loop for the loop. No breaks yet and with the mono inside the braid it keeps the loop open for you. I do have a special needle to get the mono through the hollowcore that makes it easy.
Nice catch Nick! How did you mount your livescope transducer? Is it on a transom mount or a pole mount? Thanks
Back of the boat on a portable transom mount minn kota. I added a panopics P31 transducer.
Thank you
Hi Nick, so you have the PS 31 pointing out behind the boat? Can you see your dipsy divers with it?
@@Mark-dj5qf i watched them go out but have not used it enough to really dial them in yet.
You may have to increase your sensitivity, 1 or 2% to dial in the Dipsys. Plus slight rotation in the transducer will help you pick them up. Also depends upon how many feet of line out before they go out of your view.
The PS 31 will pick up fish that are not in the 2D cone. The more you watch the PS 31 screen, the more useful it becomes. It’s really a hoot to call which downrigger is going to get bit!
Good luck in the KD.
Whats your leader length for your divers?
8-9 feet on regular divers. 50 feet on SWD
