Elvis Evolution promises ‘immersive’ experience with concerts also planned for Las Vegas, Tokyo and Berlin.
While some believe that the king of rock’n’roll may celebrate his 89th birthday next week propping up the bar of the Heartbreak Hotel, the rest of us will have to make do with an Elvis Presley hologram show in 2024.
Elvis Evolution, an “immersive concert experience” using AI and holographic projection, will premiere in London in November, with shows also planned in Las Vegas, Tokyo and Berlin.
The technology will create a lifesize digital Elvis from thousands of his personal photos and home-video footage. The hologram will perform in a celebration of the star’s life and musical legacy after a deal between Authentic Brands Group, the owners of the Elvis Presley estate, and Layered Reality, a British immersive entertainment company.

An hologram doesn't have charisma either. Despite being the best looking human being and the best vocalist (chameleon voice) in history, what captured people's hearts minds and souls with Elvis was something in the inside. Beyond charisma. Something no other human being has ever had

I was lucky enough to see Elvis live on stage in 1976. If I hadn't seen him in person, I would probably enjoy these AI concerts, thinking it is better than nothing. I think they are aimed at the fans who weren't around while Elvis was alive, and can only imagine what he was like, going by the movies, documentaries, and videos of his concerts. As @donna25871 says, it can't capture the essence of Elvis performing live, but we don't have a choice now that he is gone.

I guess eventually they all will, if the format proves to be popular, profitable and affordable cost.

Even if the format/performance is less then stellar, it won't matter much.
The content/Elvis is what's going to fill the seats and bring in the profits.

Nobody wants to see a see through hologram
It will definitely be interesting to see how many people accept the idea or how many reject the idea of a hologram Elvis.
I don't want to watch a pale, see through hologram with little color. I'd want to see a tanned Elvis hologram with clear eyes that looks like real solid flesh. I'm not sure about this because Elvis was unpredictable and improvised a lot in his shows. He gave his shows sooo much life by interacting with the audience and being authentic. I don't know about this because it isn't him and I want him dammit. The world lost out when he died.😢
I feel really off about this. On one hand, I love Elvis and his music. On another though, a hologram will never match his energy. That, and Elvis worked himself way too hard when he was alive all to please people, and the stress associated with that (plus all the coping mechanisms he had to deal with it) ended up killing him. And now we can’t even let him rest when he’s dead? It just feels sick, ngl. Like we really only ever liked the idea of him, and if he hadn’t died we would just keep leeching off him more and more.
