On light news days, I think you should introduce a segment where you feature new games people might not be aware of. There's always interesting stuff coming out that people haven't heard of.
Their goal is probably somewhere close to 10 million like the Link’s Awakening remake- the economy is a lot worse now than it was when LA released, and it’s near the end of the Switch’s life, so they’ll probably be fine with numbers a little below that, but 5 million would probably be a disappointment given Zelda’s usual sales.
It's a bit different since campaign co-op has been a feature of every Halo game (aside from the twin-stick shooter spin-offs). Assassin's Creed only had a co-op mode in Unity.
There are FPS drops but I feel like they're easy to ignore when playing. Same as links awakening for me. But some people are just more sensitive to it so I totally understand.
They are not really easy to ignore but the game doesn't really require precise timing for anything. it's kinda annoying for me but since the game is pretty fun, it is easy to keep playing. it helps that I can't see a frame counter to keep reminding me of how much the fps is fluctuating.
Happy to see the latest *"The Legend of Heroes"* game (which Jon glossed over very quick unfortunately) doing well in Japan sales-wise. I'm also very happy to see it be available on the *PS4* for a wider audience to try it out (although obviously *PC* is the most ideal place to play that franchise since ALL Trails games are available on *Steam).* Hope that the series continues to grow outside of Japan and definitely looking forward to *Trails in the Sky the 1st Remake* in 2025!
No, it’s actually pretty bad, 47000 in total while CS titles and Reverie all hit 80000+ first week. Daybreak 2 was just too bad , the worst in trails history .
I'm really hoping they don't do away with the old school Zelda stuff. BOTW and TOTK are incredible (and TBH I'd love a Wind Waker take on that formula) but I also really would love another Ocarina's and Twilight Princess's type linear game.
You know what might be nice? A remaster of Prince of Persia 1994. I loved that game, but alas, since I was young, I never got out of the dungeon, let alone finish it.
I didn't care for PoP 1994. It was janky and really annoying. It had just two good moments but it's not worth the pain and suffering to get there. I only played it because I didn't have many other options at the time. Even the brutal Zool was a better overall game. Doom releasing a shareware demo in 1995 was a massive change in the PC video game landscape.
For me, Zelda EoW engine is just a perfect evolution for classic gameplay. I hope Nintendo keep using this on future remakes of older titles like the first Zelda or Oracle ones.
In Echoes of Wisdom, you can circle around in the menu to get to your newest echoes a lot faster than scrolling all the way to the right. Also, kudos to Spawn Dude for putting the timestamps in the description. I never knew they were there. 😂
Almost every complaint I hear about Zelda’s item menus (and by extension, weapon breaking mechanics in BOTW/TOTK) amounts to: “I only want to use one weapon” or “I’m only going to use 5 echoes anyway” which are both contrary to what the developers intended for the player to do.
The other thing is there is a most used tab, so if you like an echo, you can just spam it until it moves to the front of the list... I unlocked zeldas bed and spent less than a minute spamming it and it's now at the front... it's not ideal but it does the job
For me it’s actually the opposite. I like using lots of things, but finding lots of things (even in the grid menu) is hard, so I end up defaulting to whatever is near the top of the list when sorting by most used.
I keep hearing the industry required a paradigm shift and new business models to be viable… Zelda and Astro Bot are selling fine… seems like the traditional model is working just fine.

For example, in the UK, it's been in the top 3 each week since it released. It debuted at #1, then Warhammer bumped it to #2 the next week, then FIFA and Zelda took the top 2 to push it to #3. Interestingly, Warhammer fell to #10. Astrobot has legs. It's not doing crazy numbers, but it's got a very healthy tail so far. I fully expect it to break 5 million copies sold and wouldn't be surprised at 10 mil lifetime. For a team of 60 people with a 4 year dev time, that is an overwhelming success.
87 is a decent score but Konami can do better. Let's remember there was a time when that same score was nothing short of unacceptable for any Konami game.
How are they back when they are not even the ones making the games, they let 3rd party studios making them instead, all the slient hill games coming out are not made by them.

Well I honestly think that they are very hard to get right. You have to balance difficulty, exploration and progression all at the same time. There's a lot that can go wrong.
The frame rate issues in Echoes of Wisdom aren’t as noticeable but to honest I haven’t been paying attention as I’ve just been enjoying the game too much as it’s a great game. I have never been so scared playing a game but Echoes of Wisdom had that affect on me when escaping from the rift.
The frame-rate issue is depending on the person I used to not be able to tell the difference between between 60FPS and 144FPS but I can easily tell the difference between 30FPS vs 60FPS but now that I have been using this 165hz monitor for well over year things have changed and I easily tell now when I am on just 60HZ/FPS without 2nd guessing my self anymore.
ZeldaMaster claimed to be the first English speaker to showcase the play as Link glitch since the person who found it was Japanese. The fact that EA Sports is on the top list makes me sad. I'm not too sensitive to the framerate. I guess I didn't notice performance issues. Going through Echoes is annoying though.

As a person who owns both versions of the current switch systems after playing on the OLED, it is very hard to go back to LCD screens gamewise. Is it really speed running a game by using a glitch to “warp” to the end? Or is it more just glitching through the game. My opinion is speed running the game through the actual game play is much more impressive.
it was originally really a contentious debate, with almost two halves of the speedrunning community, one allowing glitches and the other not. nowadays if the glitch is big enough and people are interested in running the game without it, it's just a different category like No X Skip or No Major Glitches.
Spent 2 hours last night and couldn't get link glitch. Sign part is fairly easy but no matter how many times I select retry and load at the same time (with up A) it just loads the manual save. Tutorials say 1.0. I'm on 1.0.1 so think it's fixed.

A Zelda game selling 200k in Japan sounds low.
they compared it to link awakening which sold 140 thousand physical copies it's first week but that started in 2019 with so many switches now i expected a much higher number then 200 thousand
Let's hope that Nintendo themselves do a new isometric or 2D Zelda game. If not, then theese games will probably never see their full potential and will be stuck at second tier. The hopes of a new Zelda 3 experience will only live in our dreams.
