Oh my god, someone with a bit of perspective, finally. I agree with you completely. As a child, I couldn't afford to play anything but free flash games and a single game for the DS, and those were subject to my parents' strict approval. As an adult, I've been able to build my own gaming PC and buy my own games, not to mention get into emulation so that I can play the older titles that I missed out on.
I do wish that game demos would come back in fashion. They were/are a great way to try out games for free.

Agreed on pretty much all of these! To piggy back off of your point on immersion, immersing ones self in the game they are playing is also important as some peoples minds wander into the ultimate fun killer, bias, comparing everything they are playing and feeling to another slightly similar game and picking apart every little thing removing all immersion and fun from the experience. Not to mention expectations of, not something better but something specific. Take digimon survive for example, a fantastic story telling game, virtual novel with butterfly effects and depth with rpg elements, and everyone cried because it wasnt cyber sleuth. Ive had friends turn to love a game when i tell them to not compare or go in with bias, just enjoy it for what it is and immediately they 180’d.

I've been wanting to say this for a while, love your video. I think most people, in general, are pessimistic. They tend to over-glorify the past (as if though the 80s and 90s weren't loaded with scummy video game practices and shitty games) and demonize the present (even though there are countless incredible and innovative games coming out every year). Your sentiment is spot-on. Your channel will grow.
This video should have thousands of views but the thumbnail text blurs with the background, that probably cost you quite a few hundred clicks. Maybe blur the background, or pick a font that's opposite on the colour wheel to the background. Just a tip - this video/channel deserves way more views!

Of course... most games suck today, cause most things have always sucked. You need to put in some effort into curating entertainment specifically for yourself, if you're passionate and not super lazy about it. But, saying games today aren't fun anymore is like saying movies today suck, while you only watch the most generic, trending popular movies. I always see people use laziness and lack of passion as an excuse to not consume new art. There is a stupid amount of amazing old games out there... and new ones, too.

It's kind of the same with music. People will often tell you how music nowadays sucks ass, and the 80s-90s-2000s had the best music ever. I've never likes this statement, because it pretty much ignores all the good songs and artists of today. These people basically encapsule themselves with the past as this "perfect time period where nothing went wrong", while ignoring that even back then not every song was good, and that there are great songs nowadays too.
