Sadly, my dad took his own life when I was 14 back in 1986, I'm now 52. The Two Ronnies were his absolute favourites, especially Barker with Porridge and Open All Hours. I love seeing people seeing these geniuses for the first time, I just smile all the way through 🙂
Oh, I also should highly recommend you watch the "Ponting Punting" sketch. The intricate wordplay between the two of them in that one is truly off the scale. It boggles the mind that it was never broadcast on the actual show, and was unseen until a few years after it ended. It's one of their finest pieces of work, and no mistake.
Oh, Brad and Lucy, I've not seen this one for years, honestly it's so stupid it's hilarious!! The accents they're using are just classic. The Two Ronnies were brilliant, as a family we never missed their show, and we all found the sketches so funny. And those accents, "nothin's likes as maybe, nows whos to say, aye!" 😂 Seeing you two appreciating their greatness is always a joy. :) As for recommendatons, for starters, I'd suggest Indian Cookery, The Day After Tomorrow's World, News At Ton, Jiu Jitsu, Heiroglyphics, Open University Archaeology, Cockney Rhyming Slang Sermon, Majorettes, and Jehosephat And Jones In Concert. @@annemaclean6634 The Ronnies did many very fine musical sketches which were hilarious, as well as showcasing another side to their immense comedic talent. :) Jehosephat And Jones was one of their best, the sketch featuring the 3 songs "It Blows My Mind", "We Knew What She Meant", and "The Gal Who's Gonna Marry Me", is magical stuff. Funny as hell, and superb music to boot! lol

Reminds me of my week, I’ve been doing the lettuce test all week and I was definitely pet sitting a tortoise, mostly fending off local cats but I guess it could hold its own as it’s at least fifty years old and has survived thus far, lol

Is "dirty pillows" a P J Harvey reference, or was that a coincidence? In my experience tortoises' staple diet is garden peas, sweetcorn and tomato slices...on a bed of lettuce. Which makes me think some humans are evolutionarily closer to reptiles.

One of my favourites - Big Jim Jehosephat and Fat Belly Jones, that was hilarious and classic Two Ronnies, great songs as well, bluegrass music!🤣🤣
