- The VWAP (Volume Weighted Average Price) is one of the most important and widely used indicators in trading. It is used by traders to measure market momentum, identify market trends, and make buy and sell decisions. VWAP is calculated by taking the volume-weighted average of all trades that occur in a given period.
There are two main ways to use the VWAP indicator: as a trend-following tool or as a trade entry/exit tool.
As a trend-following tool, traders will use the VWAP to identify market trends. If the market is trading above the VWAP, it is in an uptrend. If the market is trading below the VWAP, it is in a downtrend.
As a trade entry/exit tool, traders will use the VWAP to make buy and sell decisions. Traders will often buy when the market price is below the VWAP and sell when the market price is above the VWAP.
There are many different ways to trade with the VWAP indicator. The most common are VWAP scalping, VWAP day trading, and anchored VWAP.
VWAP scalping is a strategy that involves buying or selling at small price movements around the VWAP. This strategy can be used in any time frame but we used it in 5-minute charts.
