    I listen to this Many times and never gets old.
    Reason I keep coming back is to REMIND me so that I won't forget my role as a wife. We need reminder cos sometimes we tend to forget, especially we are surrounded by ungodly things and people.

    Wow, this was fantastic! Really appreciated how Mr. Baucham explained what "reverent in behavior" means. We so need godly preachers to tell us these things that our culture completely goes against. Not just a message for ladies either, as he is also directing it towards what young men should look for in a godly wife. Thank you brother!

    Whew!!! This is GOOD teaching. Hallelujah for the HOLY SPIRIT and the sanctification process HE does in us, women, to be able to receive this. Truth is, if we want to be like CHRIST, we must learn and grow to walk in Biblical womanhood. It is a process, a daily process. It is not oppressive nor is it archaic. It is a good and perfect gift from our FATHER!

      Sorry sister… I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for any comments, any concerns or any application of his theology to your question. And that's because your concerns about abuse, the nature of Biblical authority, always being rational authority rather than traditional authority do not, and cannot fit into this theological framework which is rooted in the traditions of men for doctrine, rather than the word of God. It's so sad that these men reject a high view of the scriptures, and exchange them for the traditions of men.

    55:34 Just had a major brain moment. I keep thinking what is wrong with wanting your husband? However, when he repeated it I finally got it. The result of the curse was for us women to WANT to be the headship and to refuse our husband's leadership. Now I get it. Love Voddie Bacdum and the way he explains the bible teachings.

    While I appreciate so many of Pastor Voddie's points, the first principle of Biblical womanhood is to believe in the Lord Jesus. Reverent behaviour is indeed importrant, but behaviour is not as important as love of the Lord. It is to be the fruit of the spriti, not the whole point of womanhood.

    Not all Christians believe a woman has to be submissive. I have seen marriages end, because the husband got bored with the very monster he created, that being a submissive wife. The women become resentful, because, they really don't have control over their lives. When people have an equal relationship, they have balance.

    • @ivanachester
      @ivanachester 9 лет назад +22

      That stems from a misunderstanding of submission. Jesus was submissive to the Holy Spirit's leading. It is not about losing a sense of self. It is not about not having a voice. It is about meekness. The woman is an individual and no part of her should be being "created." I just pray for you to receive a true understanding of complementarianism.

    • @rwcolquitt5382
      @rwcolquitt5382 8 лет назад

      The scripture says to submit to one another... and thank God for the three contrasts. The husband's submission comes in the form of "husbands love your wife as Christ loves the church." That is heavy-duty...we pray the husband can fulfill that mandate. Wives, we serve our husband as unto the Lord Jesus Christ.... and the Lord will bless you real good. (Prayer is vital.) As the couple grows together with Christ as the Head, the Holy Spirit will make the two, one.

      The Anti Atheist Thank you for this explaination. However, I still have some reservations if you or anyone else would kindly direct with biblical answers please. 1) Does this mean EVERY decision to be made must wait for husband to initiate then wife quietly follows? 2) Does this place husband between wife's submission to Christ - like a mediator? This concerns me because I fell for that ideology in Catholic religion years ago, before becoming truly saved. 3) My husband has been abusive and immoral for many years, I have been angry and resentful before coming to accept Christ. He claims repentance and is making some effort to turn from his sins, incuding commitment to marriage counseling with our pastor. He's working on rebuilding my trust, I'm working to forgive and offer kindness, respect and affirmation to him. However, in my heart I submit to Christ over everything and everyone. I have been advised to basically let go of the past and restart our marriage together. What happens if he leads with selfish or harmful motives, just say no thanks in Jesus name? 4) If biblical metaphor says husband is to model Christ headship over church body, does that mean husband is to rule over wife with Christ appointed authority over judgement and discipline? Or just the servant model of Christ headship? To love, protect, provide, cherish, die for? 5) I don't consider myself a feminist..which my church pastor seems to keep bringing up in marriage counseling sessions as arguments elgaterians use to oppose this scripture, but I do work outside my home on a casual basis as needed, around my husband's schedule, if I had a choice I'd rather focus on family needs at home full time. I apologize if my thoughts are all over the map here. I am confused and concerned about abuse amd losing my voice and basic human rights. Christians used this type of doctrine to justify slavery not too long ago. Therefore, I'm having a hard time buying into this without concerns for my well being. Christ owns me, he paid my debt in full, not my husband or anyone else. Wasn't I made woman, in God's image? His daughter in Christ? Or just the weaker vessel to be controlled by a husband, afraid to speak up for fear of offending him and/or the Lord?

    i wish he would address woman who became saved and their husbands didnt. i agree with everything but its hard to be submissive if the husband has no plan for your family. i know the bible teachs im still to be submissive but im just saying what do u do when u go to work everyday and your boss doesnt do his role at all. its very hard and some woman dont choose to unend in those places. also i think u should always follow your husband unless hes inviting u into sin with him because then u must be submissive to the high authority God.

      1 Peter 3 addresses this:
      1 Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
      2 While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.
      3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
      4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
      5 For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
      6 Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.

    I love this!! I do have one honest question though. At 41:56, he says that going to the daughter first then to the dad is saying to her: "I've chosen you, and I'm going to your father." I might not understand what his point is, but is there something inherently wrong with that?

    i am not saying my god is perfect to justify his brutality i am saying that the people of sodom and gomorrah were destroyed and killed because they did not listen to god and were unrighteous. you see, god does not owe us life, in reality all who sinned do not deserve to live, and none of us do. you want to know what sodom and gomorrah was. it was only god exacting justice upon them, and he doesnt do that for the unbelievers today because of his great mercy.

    Somebody needs to lecture you. Things are moral because God is where morality comes from. You talk about Abraham being told to sacrifice Issac, but you neglected to acknowledge the idea of sacrifice as being a moral thing. A man jumps in front of a bus to push a child out of the way. He sacrificed his life. Is that immoral? A child sacrifices his life to save a million people from death. Is that immoral? You are misunderstanding the idea of sacrifice completely.

    No, I believe in ONE talking snake and a universe created in SIX days. What are "real results" if you don't have a context to understand your results? Why do you believe the Bible to be an unreliable source of knowledge?
