Perhaps it is the heightened sense of panic brought on by my dead Mach-e that has made me so receptive to a well done video, but I rather think objectively that this is quite a fantastic video. It is pleasantly direct with no superfluous content. It is filmed perfectly and the dialogue is delivered precisely and perfectly concise. Everything one would need to know about this unfortunate event and how to solve the problem, no matter the details of the viewer's particular circumstance, is covered in this video. Well done, well done and so wonderfully helpful. I went from an anxious mess to a relieved and gracious person before the video even ended. Thank you so much!
Hello friends, thank you so much for 100,000 subscribers! 🥹🥰 I really love and I appreciate each and everyone of you so much and I can't wait to continue this journey with you all. Thank YOU from the bottom of my heart! ❤❤
I have been in the Automotive Field for 19 years and I have this car too.... this is one of the BEST and most informative video Ive seen. But all I see is whiny guys in the comments complaining and moaning
Rosey, you’ve saved me so much time and money-you’re truly a lifesaver! The same issue happened to my Mach-E just two days ago, and I’ve been searching everywhere online for a solution before resorting to the dealership. I’m so relieved I came across your video! Thank you so much! 🙏
I just replaced my battery. Thanks for the video. Couple tips, when you unbolt the bar on the right it will pivot forward out of the way. No need to pull both sides. Once you disconnect the battery, slide it all the way back and up on the lip. I wrapped a rope under it and lifted it out easily. Same for dropping in the new one. Ford battery is BAGM-H3 motorcraft and from my local dealership it was $135.49 on 11/12/24. Same model as what was in my 21' to start with. Definitely not discontinued. Maybe the high price was a supply issue. Carquest had one for $260.
Searching for OEM BAGM-H3 battery online shows many vendors, some as low as $108. I'm not sure though if you can trust them with not selling some counterfeit stuff.
This video helped tremendously with getting my vehicle back on the road. I was in somewhat of a panic mode not knowing what was going on. All the info really helped. Thank you
Im a 19 year Automotive Technician who just got this car and was curious about the auxiliary battery (12 volt)...for all you guys complaining...believe me this video is as good as the TRAINING VIDEOS you get in the automotive field when learning about a vehicle component!! She could really hire herself out to dealerships, shops, etc ass a training person...lol
Thank Rose Baby! Great explanation and step by step instructions. Just replaced my battery today with your help. Could not find a similar battery at Walmart or other battery stores near by but did call the local Ford dealership and they had two in stock. $170 later and good as new! Thank you! 🙏 You got a new subscriber! 😊
This is great. Every other video, including the Ford one, shows that you have to completely dismantle the entire frunk (including the main 'bin') to get the 12v out... it appears that you've done it without having to remove the large bin... this seems a LOT easier! Did you have any issues getting the battery in/out without removing the front portion of the frunk?
I got stuck on the step where you remove the BMS electrical connector attached to negative terminal. The connector will not come off even when I squeeze the tip of it and pull. Tried everything but it doesn't want to come off. 😞
The BMS learned parameters should be reset when the 12V battery is replaced. The battery should be in a fully charged state (or nearly so) before resetting the BMS. An accurate SoC will be determined in the next six hours of idle time following a reset.
Everything you said JUST happened to me! I went to Walmart looking for a battery and all. I wish I saw this video prior. How’s the battery holding up? How long has it been since using it?
I have had this battery in my Mach E for about 10 months now and it is still running strong with no adverse effects. The battery seems to be doing just fine and I may keep it in there for a while longer; I may eventually upgrade to the stock replacement battery or a lithium.
Sweet baby Jesus, thank you! This tutorial was absolutely perfect and detailed. Even as a girly girl, I was able to follow the steps and get it done myself!
I restored a Mach E in this situation simply by disconnecting the negative on the battery and then reconnecting it after several minutes.... there is something that locked up on this car and resetting the computer basically worked... i tried to jump start it in the same manner and it would not work either it has to do i believe with the sensing system Ford places on the terminals. No battery was needed my suggestion is try that 1st then change battery if that fails
It's critical that when you jumpstart the vehicle you *connect the negative terminal to the car body, not to the battery.* If you connect a charger or power supply to the negative battery terminal, you will bypass the battery current sensor, and the BMS will think the battery is discharging (SoC % will go down) instead of charging since the current is flowing through the sensor in the wrong direction. The BMS thinks the battery is going dead (even though it’s charging) and will activate load shed modes by shutting down modules and features, causing extremely odd vehicle behavior. You will think your car is possessed.
How lond did it take to open up the frunk? Did it open right away as soon as you plugged the connections? I tried on mine yesterday but it didn't open. Im curious if i should leave the connections plugged in to chatge maybe then my drunk will open
I have heard of people continuously locking the car with the remote until the 12v battery completely dies, then you will be able to open the frunk with the bumper connectors. I love our Mach-E but dreading the day we have an issue with the 12v battery.
it seems you are being sarcastic as a 19 year automotive technician who has this car...it really IS greatly engineered. In case you guys didnt know EVERY vehicle, electric, hybrid or regular has a 12 volt battery ...the lithium batterys for the DRIVETRAIN and moves the car...therefore hybrids and fully EVs have TWO batteries..one for the drivetrain and the other for the accessories (12 volt)
@@HuChing-ob4kk Yeah, I was sarcastic.. but well, as a swiss engineer who has worked for car conpanies i must say, this car has a few great ideas, but nothing more.. He didn't even make it through manouver-tests like the Elchtest in Sweden... There are many cars which drive better, are better engineered and bring more to the table.. I like the design of the car and it would suit my needs aswell, but it is not an engineering masterpiece...
My battery suddenly died. It was strange that it didn't die when starting the car, it died when I parked my vehicle and when turned it off the seat started moving back and stopped halfway. After that the car wouldn't start, battery is dead and doesn't take charge.
Okay so every 26r battery is not the same?... My Walmart version was a tad bigger so this was a little bit harder of a job. No woman like this could have done it. But, thanks for the video. I would have never tried it otherwise. The battery was $70 from Walmart and it got the job done. Don't give up. You may have to loosen some other bolts to get the battery in there.
Every car has its own pros and cons and the Mach e is no different. Even though sometimes it drives me crazy😄 If I have to choose now, I would do it all over again and I would buy it. It’s our go to car for long trips.
This car is NOT a headache..stop whining. Im tired of whining men. I worked in the automotive field for 19 years..EVS have less moving parts and require nearly ZERO maintenance except, brakes, tires, wiper blades, occasional lights, etc. This Ford Mustang is probably the BEST of all the EVs...from EXPERIENCE, believe me the access to the battery on this vehicle is less than a "headache" than replacing on eon a Mercedes or BMW where they are in the trunk or under the rear seat... Ive sat thru tons and ton of training videos..this one is EXCELLENT and informative...she left nothing unanswered and even showed you the hidden secret to opening the "frunk" without power and even showed you how to remove the plastic properly without damaging it..something the average person wouldnt even get past! And this EV is rated as the best and is a close 2nd in sales to the TEsla..so Im sure Ford wont miss YOU buying one.

One of the best, most detailed and carefully explained DIY tutorials I’ve ever seen.
Thank you! I'm glad you found it helpful.
Great information, what a way to resolve issues yourself. More power to you!!!
Yes! Thank you!

No issues, even with the larger (in physical size) battery I installed
Could you share the details of how to buy the battery replacement? What are the requirements?

well thank you for this, my battery died and this was a surprisingly easy fix.

It only works if your 12v battery is dead. But yeah it should open immediately.

That replacement didn't appear to be an AGM battery like the original. It's like to prematurely fail as well as it will be overcharged.
She kind of mentioned that at the end - 8:01
Please give us the Dimensions of the battery. Regards
Good engineering there 🫣

Just happend to me and now I'm stuck at work!
Didn't reset the BMS.....
100k !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Same thing happened to me. Luckily, Ford had the battery for $130 plus tax.
Just ordered mine from Ford. also 130.$

How many years or miles have you spent with this Mach-E? Trying to analyze a 12v battery life.
Mine died yesterday, jumped it in 5 minutes and was on my way.
That ford dealer you called sucks 😅
I can’t agree more 😂
26R battery only $80 dollars? 😲
