Even tho she did not believe in Eliot (at first) she still believed in a child's right to believe and make-believe...soooo important for children...and adults, which is part of the "message'' of this brilliant film!
"A dragon is just one more stranger in search of a friend" is my favorite lyric of the entire song. The metaphor is strong.
The most underrated Disney creation, ever. I can't express in words how dear this movie is to me.
Same here. I need it to feel human again
Me too this should be are national anthem ?
@@Surfer041 I can't get enough of this movie it's my 2nd Disney favorite 😍 💕
agree!
This Song is DEEP as FUCK, much love here ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🍷🍷🍷
"Well if there's enough room for a chowder-head like you, then there's more than enough room for a dragon." Love it!!! =)
LOL 😆 that's the most adorable line ?
What Dragon from hell king from hell Crowley supernatural tv shows and me
I always knew Nora had a point from the first time I saw this movie on VHS with my family.
The fishermen were all blaming Pete and his dragon for the fact that they were not catching any fish. They were saying that there was no room in the town for Pete or his dragon.
This song was basically saying that everyone has a right to live in this world.
Next to Candle On The Water this is my favorite song in the whole movie.
Everytime I listen to this song, I am struck by the beautiful compassion
Such a revelant song for today ...powerful lyrics 💖👍🏾😊
Such an underrated song. Instant classic
This song is lovely and so underrated
We had this movie on VHS and I think I must've seen this movie so many times. This was my favorite scene because they sing while being on swings.
Yasssssssss
I still have it. I absolutely enjoy the Disney movies from the past.
I adore this song.
I don't know whether it's because of the magnificent lyrics or the powerful message that this song sends but ever since I first saw this movie on VHS with my family many many years ago this has always been my top favorite song from the entire movie!!
I think it was because she thought that he was Pete's imaginary friend therefore his comfort blanket so she was technically speaking up for Pete. Also they said he should leave since he was the one who 'brought' Elliot there. Good question though! LOL!
I just relived my childhood in 3 minutes. Nostalgic!!
pete's dragon is one the most underrated movies of the 70s. in a decade that saw classics like "the godfather", "apocalypse now", "jaws", "star wars", "superman", "chinatown", "taxi driver", and others i feel this movie wasn't taken seriously cause of its light nature. helen reddy should have stayed in films she was good. now shes a recluse. oh well. a favorite of mine as a child.
This movie should have been much bigger in 77 but you can blame Darth Vader for that this was first musical for Disney sans Sherman brothers and my favorite I was nine when this came out and the music will be played at my wake thank you Al kasha and Joel hershorn!!!
such an important song in these troubling times
So very true, there is room for everyone 💗
Couldn't have said it better myself.
I think that too. I have seen a great deal of uncertainty. Over the last few years in particular. The song speaks of more hope. We do desperately need it!
Yes indeed
I fell in love with this song the first time I saw this movie on V.H.S with my family.
Even though I had just turned 8 years old when I first saw this movie I was able to grasp the meaning of this song
Helen Reddy: "Well If There's Enough Room For A Chowder Head Like You, Then There's More Than Enough Room For A Dragon"
Thanks for posting these lovely tunes from Pete's Dragon!
love this song i sing it to my pet bearded dragon all the time!
That's the cutest thing I've ever heard
ever since I first saw this movie with my family on VHS I always thought the town kind of a dark place. but it was people like Nora and Pete who helped the town become better
R.I.P Helen Reddy
Beautiful song.
The fishermen were all blaming Pete and his dragon for the fact that they were not catching any fish. They were saying that Pete and his dragon did not belong in the town.
Nora was saying that everyone deserves a chance to live in this world.
Helen is wonderful in this film!
This is so true, the lyrics!
Love u Nora! :-)
So amazing
Thank you so much for uploading these song I absolutely love them. Pete's Dragon is one of my favorites and it still a good family movie to watch. Elliott will always be with me and this is my favorite next to candle on the water.
This is a great song
I used to try singing this song when i was on a swing it was during like i think pre school ro 1st grade, it was those great memories
Still relevant today
I love u Elliott!! :)
Yes, yes they did.
Watched this when I was 13 and never forgot the lyrics "there's room for everyone". Loved it.
I love this song one of my favorite classic Disney movies I love both this version and the new version I just wish I had a plush Pete to go with my Elliott plush
We have an Elliot plush too, my one year old loves it

I love this song... It's a pity though that this is one of the most underated Disney movies along with Who Framed Roger Rabbit.. This movie deserves more love
'Who framed Roger Rabbit' was insanely successful, even won 3 academy awards,Pete's Dragon was panned by critics and audience
Ah the memories. Thanks for uploading these.
This version is a lot more sedate than the movie one.
Wow what a wonderful find.
I like nora
Wat? Oh
Lol my name is Nora lol
Flying flag I like you nora
Madi Rae me too she has such a beautiful voice
This takes me back to my childhood this is my fav Disney movie ever, I wish the new Disney movies were this good! Helen Reddy had such a beautiful voice ❤️
Candle on the water
RIP Helen Reddy and Mickey Rooney
Oh thank you so much for posting these. I so need to watch this movie again, such wonderfull childhood memories..i listened to the movie playing in the other room (This song was playing.) while my grandmother and I made blackberry pie in the kitchen. I'd just picked them from the back yard. ^_^ I plan to teach my own kids or if not them, my neice how to make pie from scratch like she taught me that day. ^_^
A truly great song and wonderful message. Hopefully, this will live on for other generations
AHHHH. i see! Thanks
Nice to know I wasn't the only one. (-:
Yeah I have the "high flying edition" :) I had a similar problem except I played the video so much bits of the film no longer played!
The ending is my favorite, I like the sound and her voice and the lyrics :D
You're late! Late! Late! (etc.) Why is everybody late?
we are playing with nora Pete & his dragon.
@@Grantgamezgrantgman his wagon?

MAKING MEMORIES PEOPLE, MAKING MEMORIES......
RIP Helen Reddy
I liked the days when these movies respected everyone; the shows became really unprofessional over the past few years (not all, but most)
God was actually mentioned in those old days, disney respected a neutral god belief status
Drumlinegypsy247 I agree. Back when movies still had a moral compass and wanted to instill that in kids and families. Look what movies, tv, and families are like today. every other word is sexualized or full of profanities. I don't even watch many shows or movies of today. it's all the same regurgitated trash, that they're trying to push down our throats and accept as normal
It does make me happy once in a while when there is a movie that comes out that gives just what we need, as it does happen, just unfortunately not as often as it should.
chaos I'd be careful saying that kind of thing
cool like it 0n 9 0f august 2015 peace
I forgot to mention earlier that Onna white did all the choreography she was a great Broadway name and the year before did the show Annie
I never saw this movie as a child. I’m just discovering it today! I feel I’ve been robbed.
Somebody sing this to Boris Johnson
Complaining about God's name being in a Disney song?!
Over-sensitivity at it's finest...
Such a good message but in the wrong movie
yea
wow i haven't used a vrc since 1998
uhm,was wondering:Nora Did NOT believe Elliot existed.why speak up in his defence,if SHE DID NOT BELIEVE IN HIM?
There's room for everyone in this world
If everyone makes some room
Won't you move over and share this world
Everyone make some room
Even a dragon deserves a place
A wide open space with no reins, no chains
He wants to play games, dance with you
Give him a chance to sing his song
He only wants to belong
There's room for everyone in this world
Will everyone make some room
Spread out while Elliott gets uncurled
Fly on his back and zoom
Rock him and ride him
And line up beside him
You'll see how quickly you'll blend
A dragon is just one more stranger in search of a friend
From an ant to a bird to a buffalo herd
Let them walk and fly and roam
Step aside, let them live
It's simple to give
Like us they just need a home
There's room for everyone in this world
Back up and make some room
Let's all move over and share this world
Everyone make some room
Just think how far out the ocean goes
The whirling wind blows shore to shore, door to door
Think of the valleys and mountaintops
The earth never stops
So deep and so high
With miles of sky
We all have part of the pie
Welcome the dragon while you have a chance
Give him his moment to rise up and dance
There's room for everyone in this world
Will everyone make some room
Love given freely can spare this world
Let friendly feelings bloom
Just give an inch, give a yard, never flinch
When the time comes to offer a hand
So let's all make sure we give everyone somewhere to stand
So let's all make sure we give everyone somewhere to stand
Just the way God planned it
Just the way God planned
Just the way God planned it 😇
This song should convince Trump or Clinton that immigrants deserve respect. I would sing it for the whole world.
Donald Trump's a liar!
Not all of them are bad!!!!!! I hate racists!!!
The only terrorist we have is Trump. That guy should go to hell! I hate people who hate other races.
Follett, sounds like you're the one who needs someone to teach the meaning of this song to you.
You should also say that to people who want abortions and saying we don't need unwanted children in this world.
Shit or not, at least the film's clean fun which you hardly see these days either. Not thank goodness about that....a shame
Yo soy nicole
Wow, they mentioned "The way God Planned" in a Disney movie..
You won't see that shit anymore.. thank goodness.
chaosmastermind yeah, back when movies had morals and decency. Not like today where anything goes and there's more trash on TV and in movies than ever before. oh yeah .... it's much better. you must be under 25.
Jay Breezy So true!
References to God in a family film that my kids might be exposed to? That sickens me.
This is sarcasm right lol
You're a total loser right?
