To be fair, after seeing Jack McBrayer play Ogie I wasn’t sure how anyone else could be as perfect for the role of Ogie as him, but after seeing the audition I think Joe has the potential to do Ogie justice
As someone who has spent a LOT of money on theatre training and can only wish for this kind of opportunity, I would like to wish you luck. I know you're getting very mixed responses from this announcement, but it seems to me like you do genuinely have the talent and this isn't just another "we've cast someone famous to bring in audiences", I mean, Waitress doesn't need a celebrity name for that anyway. @@JoHarris68 when I was there in early June (west end) it seemed to nearly have been sold out. Though I'm not sure. I know it has had a hard time getting enough people... I think it's a very good show though! I just think it's a little... Too much celebrity casting 😬 I honestly don't care if there is a celebrity on the stage, or a musical theatre actor/actress... But I'd rather have a trained musical theatre actor/actress than a mediocre, untrained 'celebrity' (not saying they are/were all bad. I just think some people are just not suited for the role... And especially then, it just seems to be casted because they are famous...)
If having someone famous doing the show is just to bring in audiences, so be it. It supports shows to have more people paying to see them so the shows can go on longer.
West End seems a lot more packed than Broadway right now, probably because its newer but they did start the run off with a stunt cast (Kat Mcphee as Jenna). But the broadway run is really failing rn (thats why its closing on Jan 5th...) so maybe they don't want that with the West End version idk.
I love how confident joe is getting because s few years ago joe would never do things like this and now he's been in strictly and now in the waitress. Well done joe we are all so proud of you and are so excited for what the future might bring!💕
Honestly joe is such a good person. RUclips these days is so filled with drama but he just minds his own business and accomplishes things many could never dream of and that is why he is such a good role model. Joe, please film as much as you can behind the scenes. I love to see what goes on behind the scenes in musicals, especially from the casts point of view and I find there aren’t many theatre performers who are in larger productions who do film back stage and in rehearsals and show rituals and cool little stuff like quick changes etc The main one I can think of is Carrie Hope Fletcher (who’s videos I love, surprise surprise) Also you will be able to look back on the experience and everything you do film in years to come (and be able to show your kids & grandkids for yourself etc)
You should check out Georgie Ashford who’s another smaller theatre youtuber if you like that kind of content! She’s currently in Oklahoma in Chichester 💜

Yes he had to audition but he got this opportunity because of who he is, which he admits himself yet the scores of naive fans seem unable to grasp 🙄

Armani Rosetta not all actors can do that. It’s one thing being able to memories lines and it’s another being able to fully turn into your character and embody it completely. It’s an extremely difficult thing to master and Joe seems to be a natural.
People need to stop focusing on the idea that Joe and others like him only get these roles because they are famous. Sure, their pull in media is something that is definitely considered and it also means that they would get contacted, but they still audition. They audition, and they work extremely hard. And anyone who knows Joe's channel and content knows that he rarely ever half asses anything, I mean just look at him doing Strictly Ballroom, he put his all into that experience. You know that he would have worked so hard on that audition, and he is really bursting with talent that could be tapped into via the West End. So good on you Joe, you're turning all of your hard work that you put into your channel on RUclips into really incredible opportunities to excel and stretch yourself beyond where you were before, which is what everyone should strive to do. Congratulations on the role, you're going to do so incredibly well, and this means that we now have 3 RUclips and social media stars/influencers on the same show in two different continents who all got there through their talent.
To be honest though... Most of the 'celebrities' DON'T have to audition to be in a show. E. G. Katherine McPhee. She said it herself, that she was asked to do it. I mean, she was amazing! I saw her in the show, and I loved her take on it. But I do understand the criticism... That said, I thought Joe was pretty good in his audition! He really looked, acted and sounded the part! :) excited to see him, especially with Laura together.

Alli Molly expect that if you are not famous already you go to drama school , have massive debt because of it and work hard you are still more likely to waste years unemployed trying to be given an opportunity that for most people never comes. Coleen ballinger ( woman) and Todrick hall ( black ) are doing the same exact thing for the same exact reason which does not apply to normal people. The creative industry is beast of its own it is not a normal career , it's a field that is saturated , where you are supposed to be available for auditions at any moment whilst having a side job , where you working hard does not mean you are going to get the gig because you being hired as more to do with the casting director's already shaped idea of what they want which no one can predict nor can prepare for . Where your own personality makes a difference. His advantage , as well as Coleen' and todrick's ,is being a sure source of income in a business . Where you bring in money everything else can be accommodated , but normal people need to understand that if you do not have that fame you have a whole different situation and a much slimmer chance at it.

Unfortunately it does, went last week and it was more than half empty. It's only a 1500 seater and probably 500 seats sold.

Armani Rosetta not all actors can do that. It’s one thing being able to memories lines and it’s another being able to fully turn into your character and embody it completely. It’s an extremely difficult thing to master and Joe seems to be a natural.

People need to stop focusing on the idea that Joe and others like him only get these roles because they are famous. Sure, their pull in media is something that is definitely considered and it also means that they would get contacted, but they still audition. They audition, and they work extremely hard. And anyone who knows Joe's channel and content knows that he rarely ever half asses anything, I mean just look at him doing Strictly Ballroom, he put his all into that experience. You know that he would have worked so hard on that audition, and he is really bursting with talent that could be tapped into via the West End.
So good on you Joe, you're turning all of your hard work that you put into your channel on RUclips into really incredible opportunities to excel and stretch yourself beyond where you were before, which is what everyone should strive to do.
Congratulations on the role, you're going to do so incredibly well, and this means that we now have 3 RUclips and social media stars/influencers on the same show in two different continents who all got there through their talent.
To be honest though... Most of the 'celebrities' DON'T have to audition to be in a show. E. G. Katherine McPhee. She said it herself, that she was asked to do it. I mean, she was amazing! I saw her in the show, and I loved her take on it. But I do understand the criticism... That said, I thought Joe was pretty good in his audition! He really looked, acted and sounded the part! :) excited to see him, especially with Laura together.
Oh my gosh I'm actually in tears! I remember watching you all the way back in 2012 and look at what you've accomplished since then!! Theatre is such an incredible experience and to be in a West End production is no joke, I'm so incredibly proud of you ♥️♥️

Alli Molly expect that if you are not famous already you go to drama school , have massive debt because of it and work hard you are still more likely to waste years unemployed trying to be given an opportunity that for most people never comes. He is in a privileged positions , normal people do not have .

The creative industry is beast of its own it is not a normal career , it's a field that is saturated , where you are supposed to be available for auditions at any moment whilst having a side job , where you working hard does not mean you are going to get the gig because you being hired as more to do with the casting director's already shaped idea of what they want which no one can predict nor can prepare for . Where your own personality makes a difference. His advantage , as well as Coleen' and todrick's ,is being a sure source of income in a business . Where you bring in money everything else can be accommodated , but normal people need to understand that if you do not have that fame you have a whole different situation and a much slimmer chance at it.
