on the Austrian question focus, if you take too long to get the Austrian question focus completed or don't sway them quick enough, they will actually form their own faction called the axis when they complete the "join the axis" focus which will SoftLock you out of completing the Austrian question focus entirely.
I went for this achievement. And just after I got Raider in charge, the Blackshirts started a Civil War in the UK. When they won the civil war, the achievement popped 😂
You can retreat back out of pins, and then before the unit actually retreats, you can change the “retreat” to go forward into the enemy territory you are attacking, effectively saying “no” to enemy pins. Bubbleszest does this a lot.
i prefer brothers in arms instead of the austrian question. they will annex hungary and czechoslovakia when you do rekindle imperial sentiment and thanks to the mitteleuropa foci you can make austria-hungary your vassal through a decision. getting all the land without war
@@Shayrin2yeah but at that point you’ve been hit w so much shit you need the pp elsewhere like aligning Norway and Sweden when you fight the Russians late game
I'm probably gonna be flamed for this but I figured I'd ask: Bittersteel, could you bring back those mouse pads with British and American Tanks? I would jump at the chance to buy one for my little brother. Heck, I'll buy 5 if you do tanks and airplanes. I totally understand if this is just not logistally possible, but I figured I would ask.
3:23 - Options: Hire Otto Strasser, do one of the War Support Focuses ASAP, Spain Attaché. More than enough to float above 50% until you're clear, then fire Strasser. His [Brown] party support doesn't matter since your National Spirit more than counters it. Getting War Economy ASAP is more important than higher conscription in my opinion since you already have enough recruitable population to build a sizeable army.
You can keep war support above 50% after the civil war by using various focuses around the tree and an attaché which gives you a flat 10%, although this is more difficult as the communists because of how much PP you need as them to avoid internal issues.
Something about the civil war I noticed: I once started the civil war while the mountaineers stood in Königsberg, blocking that port. For some reason the one tank that the reich got was stationed in eastern prussia as well. That led to said division not being able to support the main front because they were stuck in königsberg, fighting my mountaineer garrison. They somehow had supply so after a few months they pushed me out. By that point the main front had collapsed though so they couldn't really do anything anymore. No idea if that happes usually, I only tried it one time.
32:00 From my experience since the DLC came out, they still don't really raid the Channel when you get a foothold on the island. If you can crush them in the skies, you basically win because if you can now put 300-400 naval bombers unharmed over the Channel and the AI's fleet will disappear from the area. Although they don't really raid, they are quite a pain in the neck now when you invade them. I used to just launch 14-18 paratroopers on south eastern ports to get a foothold but now, they rush to that port I just captured and attack relentlessly until my paratroopers are out of organization. And the thing is that since I have just 2 or 3 tiles at best around the port, my supply is garbage and I can't bring more troops. It's challenging that's great. (If anyone wanna do that strategy, just bring in 5-6 infantry divisions asap to hold while paradropping on other ports to send in your tanks. This strategy requires you to invest a bit more in fighters and transport planes)
you can get war suppourt from attache to spain +10, expatriate the communists gives+5 and weltpolitik gives+3 that with the combat casualties debuff running out adds up enough to get rid of strikes but until u do all that u will get strikes but u can remove it shortly by doing the above focuses so i think so its worth it, hope that helps
As someone who did this achievement and kept all my war support, just send an attache and do one or two of the several focuses in your tree that gives war support. You can pretty easily stay above 50% after you lose your temporary national spirits. As for the colonial holdings achievement, I would have done both in the same run except the UK decolonized on me. I figured it would be faster to just do an entire new game than wait for justifications on every single tiny country the UK released that I needed to annex.
I have been having a rough time with the GCW in Gotterdammerung, Before new DLC, it was fairly easy, now, its a tad tricky. can't seem to get it done as quickly before. Now, it usually ends around October-December, depending how difficult the AI wants to be ( even if i try to cheese it by deleting the army and equipment ).
To get the 15% War Support. You can send an attache to either the Spain or Japan, which gives 10% war support. And I believe there are focuses and/or advisors that grant war support as well.
You can get enough pp. To get war economy and an attache to spain. You can get enough war support before strikes happen. Getting Wilhelm II also gets you some war support.
Did this one a few days ago. It wasn't too bad - though the peace deal at the end of it was so awful I decided to not bother doing another potential achievement.
I’ve been paradropping Ireland then Scotland and it’s been a very good strat with zero need for armor and at least 72 divisions (two inf armies and one para). I’ve currently had no failures with this.
3:25 there are 3 focuses that give u war support (one is the navy focus on the politics tree, and some more focuses on the political tree) including the expatriating the communists that basically turns france red. but u can avoid that by ignoring the strikes timer because by the time it becomes a problem world tension is high enough (japan-china war) so there are no issues in getting war economy

the new british ai will do some crazy stuff to push out your landing. last time i tried to sealion they naval invaded the port i landed in right after i my tanks in
I have a quick question. I've been trying to play a Kaiser Germany ever since the new update dropped but the Netherlands has refused to return him to me twice in a row in 2 games in a row. I had my army on their border because I heard that they are more likely to accept the request when I do that (unless that is no longer the case). Any suggestions?
mr. bittersteel. i request to know why you used takao class heavy cruisers from japan for germanys navy in the thumbnail? finally some good ships for the germans eh :3
Hang onto mister schmitler for an extra month or something, declare on US to world tension spike? May generate enough tension to offset war support along with attache to spain
Gonna be honest bittersteel the new editing style (at least in the opening so far) is really disorienting. It's hard to focus on anything because the camera is constantly moving. I liked the old editing style, this one seems like a bit much.
I recommend ally Czechoslovakia, bc its strong ally and later you can continue the focus path and form EU, annexing it (if someone says NO, then: kick -> justify -> destroy) Also Democratic path is pretty fun. You can return almost all you former colonies (if you go left path, allying with British, or just good ol ww1) except the ones controlled by Japan, and get some new, like half on the Congo, and Portuguese colonies in Africa. And you can still form EU, help Poland or demand it's land. (srry if my English was bad, I don't know tenses well and how to use punctuation marks correctly in English)

It’s -10% it is not that worth it. It will maybe give you one civ
It's not like old hoi4 where that was big, Consumer goods buff of only 10% won't do much
Yeah as others have said since the rework this is 15% of the economy law - so on war economy this is only 3% under the old system
The real bonus it gives you is the 18 months of faster civ/infra construction speed IMO
@ it doesn’t give faster construction speed. Only factory repair speed. By the time you grab it, your factories are ALL repaired

I was just watching the “puppet” selection that whole time with such pain lol

If you send a military attaché to Spain,
You can get this extra war support, I think.
Yup. I thought the same thing, the last bit of war support being filled in by the additional world tension.
To get more world tension you could justify on United States(before you change ideology)but cancel it before it completes.
Well, you also get a -10% event at the end of the war. So you lose quite a bit
