fun fact, you can core the entire world as finland. If you give estonia everything in a peace deal, and then annex em (viron kansa) the game gives you cores on all estonian states
Hey, not sure if you don't understand how core states works, misread the wording and simply did it 'on paper' without console commands, but if you read, you get cores on ESTONIAN CORES. This means that even if estonia owned the world (as someone else mentioned), you would only get cores on the OG estonian land. However, another example is how falangist spain can core brazil and iberia. If falangist spain annexes the kingdom of brazil and portugal, it gets cores on all portuguese cores. Since brazil is cored by the original tag of portugal, falangist spain obtains this. However, this does not apply to finland and estonia.

Finland has 2 secret focuses, but many times that second focus is skipped because its coming too late. It's name is Innovative Designs, and its hidden until you do Militarized Society, and National Armor Focuses. Its adds random fully controlled cored state: 1 Building slot, and 1 Military factory; also create Hyökkäysvaunu Super Heavy Tank variant on gaining technology Super-Heavy Tank Chassis.
I mean, historically Canada had the 3rd largest Navy at the end of the war as well as insane amounts of aluminium - most Ally planes were built with Canadian aluminium. Yet that's nowhere to be seen in the game.
@@oro88 Most of the canadian ships were light corvettes and frigates designed for escort duties. I guess it is not worth showing them for the sake of optimalization
@@oro88 I think that national spirits would be better fit for that. Like the bulgarian nuclear production one, but every major in a faction with canada gets -xr% resource need for planes
As a quick aside to anyone who's unfortunate enough to get a good run but then have to fight the allies, I got this achievement without having to cross any oceans by just sitting on speed 5 until i could make collab governments in Sweeden and Norway. Because the collab government owns the land and is a new country, when you annex the collab government via puppet management, you take ownership of the land. It's a significantly longer time investment, and a lot more boring, but when half of the achievements in this game end up becoming "as X minor power, capitulate the Every Major Faction so you can be listed as the 'owner' of Y province in the arse-crack of Siberia," its nice to not have to do that every now and then.
I LOVE achievement videos. I know a lot of people don't care about them, but they're my favorite content, and my favorite way to play HoI4. I've only got 132/211 so I'm always a fan of new "guides".

Thanks for this particular guide. When all of the stuff for Finland came out, I was wondering how some of those achievements would even be possible and had been poking around for some guides. With the new update coming Soon(tm) and having no idea how it would impact the rest of the game (above and beyond killing any older save files), I had started working (and mostly failing) to get all of the Achievements noted in this video. I managed to get 'Finnish Him' first, but because Sweden never joined the Comintern, as soon as the war ended, they went right to the Allies... not optimal at all, as I would have no way to end that one and fighting Germany was out of the question. So, I tried again. Several times and after many failures (and a massive amount of Save Scumming); did you know that the Soviet Union may not always eat Latvia or Lithuania? I didn't... Anyway, last night, I was finally able to get all of the Achievements...so thanks for this achievement guide!
I just watched Britannica's video on Finland. Super interesting place that's got a very unique culture compared to the countries around them since they've been ruled by Sweden and Russia for so long.
You can disband spies by hitting that little X in the top right of their picture, and when you do the pool of spies refreshes after 30 days so it's possible to fish for seducers.

I have a possible strategy. If you release Sami and Karelia, when you take their cores in (eastern country), Norway, and Sweden, they will gain all the manpower. You can then demand their divisions from them as well as garrison support. For the Sami, maybe save that until you go to war with Sweden and Norway, just so you don't lose half your country. You can release them in the Kola peninsula region. Then give them their cores in Scandinavia. Sorry for posting this same comment with multiple variations each time. If I say the name of the eastern nation, problems happen. Edit: Test test Edit 2: Okay it works now.
You should also utilize maintenance companies to steal enemy equipment. Yes, they cost support equipment, but you'll be stealing enemy support equipment which at least partially pays for them.
I am surprised you managed to hold out against the initial Soviet push without forts. My attempts to get Uralic Brothers United always get stuck on attempts to beat Germany. Way too many divisions.
The fact they haven't added Ski troops and Stormtroopers to the game but have added irregular desert soldiers, camelry, jungle specialists, Paras, Mountaineers, Marines, Militia, and so on... Just breaks my heart.
So I have tried to follow this video several times and i keep just getting over run. How do you place your divisions? As this is not shown in the video
Gotta nitpick the opening focuses and PP spending: Finnish-Swedish Peoples Party is a better early focus than Align the Agrarian League, in order to get Ernst van Born. *Especially* since you're delaying mobilizing the economy while also opening with Mil Factories. The -10% Consumer Goods factor does not have an appreciable impact at this stage: it would be far better to mobilize first (for the consumer goods base reduction and the mil factory speed buffs), and pick up Ernst van Born second (for the precious PP in a balance-of-power country).
With MIO concentrated industry produces more than disperse even with constantly changing production. The MIO compensate for the efficiency gains lost when changing.
