Would have been great if your friend could send the "raw" and filtered water (clean and waste) and send it to a water analysis lab. Would love to see the results (and not just anecdotal "cool water from stream is the best") 🙏 -- and would have been even better if he could try to find some standing water that's more likely contaminated.
Yes that would be cool. I believe there are others who have donr that in their video.
Just bought the unit! Enjoy Colombia, my wife is Colombian and is in Bogota right now.
Thank you! We will be there in a couple weeks!
dang like this idea checking it out for northern Ontario Canada... does it remove beaver fever?
I don't know if it specifically does that. But I would include a secondary UV filter on top of this to be more certain.
Google says beaver fever is just a colloquial term for giardiasis. If that's true than yes, this filter will get rid of that all on its own.
Looks like a cool device but The flow rate makes me a little suspicious. I don't understand how these all in one units can have such a high flow rate when you have other reverse osmosis filters that can do maybe 2 gallons an hour. What's going on here why is there such a big difference in the flow rates between RO filters? In my RV I have an RO filter that I hook up to surflo pump. The oil filter is rated for only maybe 2 gallons per hour. It takes a while but it's nice to have clean water
If your shurflo pump is like mine, then it can't create that much pressure for higher flow rate (~60psi). If it did you risk blowing out plumbing fittings. These units with it's own dedicated built in pump can be designed to push a much higher PSI.
Desalination?
No, only fresh water.
