Despite our combined annual salary of just over $100,000, we have adopted a frugal lifestyle. We continue to drive older cars, prepare meals at home, and make use of leftovers. Additionally, we have two children currently in college. Fortunately, we had saved for their college expenses, and they are contributing by working part-time. The #1 Rule For Getting Out Of Debt
    Amid economic uncertainties like inflation, sluggish growth, and housing issues, financial stability can feel elusive. The #1 rule for getting out of debt is to stop accumulating more debt-live within your means, prioritize essentials, and pay off obligations. True security comes with long-term planning: invest strategically to grow wealth and protect against future instability.

    • @AndrewRedford
      @AndrewRedford 4 дня назад +1

      In retirement, safeguarding your wealth against inflation is essential. Consider options like TIPS (Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities), commodities, or foreign currencies to hedge against a weakening dollar. Diversifying your portfolio with global real estate, international bonds, or high-quality foreign stocks can provide additional protection and growth opportunities in an inflationary environment.

And they were tearing up my apartment. Even getting her to apply for assistance was a struggle. Idk if it’s the pills getting to her head but i gave them a date and told her she could not stay with me and has over stayed her welcome. I was pretty broke once but I would never gave up this freedom I have right now for any material things, during those financial difficulties I have always motivate myself that every unnecessary things I bought is an ounce of my freedom I'm giving away. Find a cheaper grocery store to shop, your money will still go further and buy what you need, don't just fill your shelves because I guarantee the majority of you have crap in your fridge and cabinets that just sit there expiring. Consideration also has to come down to staying at a job that is not stressful with friendships vs, leaving for something that may be too stressful and make you miserable and wish you would have stayed at your old job. I currently have over $12,000 in a high yield savings account for the purpose of paying off my last student loan in addition to working 2 jobs. (I've been budgeting & living way below my mean)(I also gain compound interest from my dividend stocks)(Pure determination, drive, focus, hardwork, & discipline are the tools that keeps going with this task)

    Writing everything down what I buy looks like a lot of work but it really helps. I have some friends that life paycheck to paycheck or need to borrow money from time to time but still dont want to do it because they say they don´t have time for that. I just need to sit down 10 to 15 minuts every month. Sometimes I am even faster. I cant understand why people cry that they don´t know where the money goes but dont do that simple overview. 😢

    I rather work till I die, not that it would be a must, but as soon as you retire what are you going to do, I would be so bored and I really love working gives me a purpose, now I just pray that it will be on my terms and I would be ok if i physically could not work, but I really do believe I always want to work

      That’s a thought, too. Work does give us purpose. If it’s not back breaking physical work than sure, why not. There’s no rule that says we’re entitled to lay on a beach for 20 years.

      @@krn2683 It's not all it's cut out to be. For some it's ok, for me and my business partner, we had both retired and then we decided to go to work again so we started a business together. Listen, my wife and I still travel a lot. We just got back from Destin for Christmas, she is arriving in New York City as I type this. I go dirt track racing 1-5 nights a week. It's still boring when I'm not thinking of ways to make money so I will work until I die.

    That one caller said “I am not looking forward to this” (relieving debt).
    Already off to a bad start right there.
    Defeatist attitude can be flipped.
    Example.
    “I Can and Will do my best TODAY to make a good financial decision!”
    Can be a simple as not buying an item, meal planning or staycations.
    Whatever the idea balance it with “I am 100% balancing and investing in my better future”.

    A 401K is a tax trap! Convert yearly to a ROTH IRA. if your employer offers a ROTH 401K do it and if the match goes into a taxable non-Roth ira account convert it every year. Roth is the only way to go,
