We screened this for the incoming freshmen at Howard that year. They were running from the theatre! Sooooo many iconic moments. Sooooo glad the film still works. Scared to death by a sock puppet?! That’s outstanding! Thanks for watching!🙏🏾✌🏾
Cool part about it is they plant Kurt Russell’s fake hand (the one holding the Petrie dish) at the angle it needs to be for the jumó scare early in the sequence so you get used to seeing it in that position. It really help create the jump moment! Thanks for watching!✌🏾
Didn't expect to see this. If you hadn't seen the 2011 prequel movie, you'd have no idea what's going on. The practical effects for this movie and the performances by everyone, mainly Kurt Russell, are top-tier. Same goes for John Carpenter's directing. The three biggest moments of the entire movie is the operating table jumpscare (18:53), the blood test sequence (21:58) and the ending where you can come up with whatever ending happened before the credits rolled (28:15). Might I suggest reaction mashups to Black Adam, Multiverse of Madness, Shang-Chi, Spider-Man: No Way Home and Super Mario Bros among others? Keep these going!
I'd love to do mashups to all of those and more, it's just getting them to "critical mass" where enough reactors have covered them that can make the cut interesting. I like to have around 12-15 including some of my core guys. I'd also like to cover more classics like "The Thing" but again, I need the numbers. As far as the prequel, having been around for the release of the 82' version I'd have to disagree. I didn't need to know any of what happened at the Norway station to understand completely what was at stake and why. I thought Carpenter did a great job, if not his best, with the material- especially when you compare it to what he was remaking; 1951's "The Thing from Another World". While that was notable for its time (primarily for the dialog) it couldn't come close to what Carpenter achieved. The 2011 version has all the ingredients but had nowhere the impact of Carpenter's. No lie, I watched a whole theatre full of college freshmen bolt for the exits during the "Chest Burster" scene. Total insanity with no knowledge of anything other than they should have helped the Norwegians kill that dog!🤣 Coming up... "Train to Busan" and "The Raid... Redemption"✌🏾
Classic movie.💯
Absolutely!!🙏🏾✌🏾
OMG!!!! YES!! Thank u!!!! MORE! Like these please!
You got it! Thanks for watching!✌🏾🙏🏾
The inspiration for Among Us
Yup. You should check out the original from the 50’s. I can see why Carpenter wanted to update it.✌🏾

The blood test scene is the greatest jump scare in the history of cinema.
