    Very cool fabrication footage! I never would have guessed you use a brake press for those panels instead of rolling.

    A really interesting contrast to the Spacex Boca Chica plant.

    1:37 They way they assemble the LOX tanks reminds me of how I assembled my LEGO Saturn V :D

    Can’t wait to see this rocket launch! I’m really interested on how this new reusable idea will turn out 👍🏻 Vulcan, Starship and New Glenn 😎 No other country will have better rockets then the US 🔥

    dont listen to the salty spaceX fan boys, they arnt actually fans of Aerospace, they just like shiny rockets that look cool at launch (and landing) and think that reusable is the only way to go.
    this is incredible and amazing to see the progress you guys are doing!
    its fascinating to see the exact manufacturing methods in creating these. whats most interesting for me is seeing you guys milling out walls of the fuel tank instead of welding the pieces of the bulkheads together. I wonder if you guys plan to send the milling scraps out to a recycling place to get a small amount of material cost back?
    good luck! I cant wait to see it launch!

      Yeah, this looks like a much more serious facility for building rockets than Uncle Elmer’s barnyard in Boca Chica.

    Quick question, how are the Oxidizer (LO2) tank assemblies welded together after being formed as panels? I totally missed it in the video.

    • @derekdotspace
      @derekdotspace 4 года назад +1

      Friction Stir welding! Its placed in a specialized machine that holds all the panels and then welds them in place! Its a really cool process to see IRL.

    Obsolete before it's even built. Sorry ULA Starship is just around the corner.

    • @aDifferentJT
      @aDifferentJT 5 лет назад +8

      I reckon there will be a few years while Starship is still finding its feet so to speak and isn’t yet as reliable as ULA’s offerings, though I don’t know how long that period will be

      Why you people feel the need to comment on every thread/video/announcement that isn't from Spacex, that everything sucks because it isn't Starship?
      Jeez, the Spacex fanbase is the most toxic I've seen in a long time, and its hard for me now to disassociate that feeling from my generally positive opinion of the company :/ Whats funny is that most of you have no experience in this industry.

      @@Matthew35333 armchair engineers. prefers to sit on reddit all day and circle jerk to SpaceX thinking it's real qualification.
      Seriously the SpaceX fan base is one of the most toxic and annoying fanbases I know. Something completely unrelated to SpaceX.. it's gotta have SpaceX discussion now. Why even come here in the first place. I want to see a rocket built not listen to some child's worshipping of SpaceX.

      @@Lync512 You know what? Lets drive in our Teslas model 3 listening to Eric Berger podcast, while spamming Bridenstine's commercial crew tweet with highly technical "orange rocket bad" comments. We can of course do that because our vehicles have autopilot :D

      @@Matthew35333 I'm a huge SpaceX fan but also a fan of Vulcan. This video is super interesting to watch how the tank structure is built. Lots of folks just dont realize that Vulcan and Starship are really for very different purposes and reasons. Still, Orange rocket = bad, and would rather have seen all that money go into ACES and fuel depots, but hindsight is always 20/20.
