It is really great to hear a shout out for The Union, especially Pete Shoulder. He is a brilliant singer, his band before Winterville are very worth checking out especially if you are a fan of Alter Bridge. Winterville are no longer but there was an ep with a band called Silverthorne which included Brian Titchy on drums. He also was part of a band called Sloper with some former members from Golden Earring.
Not made a list for this year prior to broadcast and currently working my way through the episode, but posting as Pete has listed Spock's Beard. Not long back in from their gig at Classic Grand, Glasgow tonight, and just to say they were fantastic, as ever and a really healthy turn out from what I could see! Catch them on the rest of the tour folks Some that would have made it Spock's Beard, Haken, Kingcrow, Black Country Communion, Vanden Plas, Anathema, Moon Safari, Hasse Froberg & Musical Companion (far more time for Hasse than the Flower Kings these days), RPWL, FM, Mystery, Hawkwind. I will stick up for Orphaned Land even though not top 10 material (then or now). One band/album that wasn't in my top 10 nor now, that I bought into the hype... District 97. Bought the first two albums when they were getting great press in the prog world. Hunt's a fine singer but I just find them totally overrated now
Some of my favorite albums from that year that weren't mentioned. Magic Kingdom - Symphony of War. Anthriel - The Pathway Darkwater - Where Stories End These ones are quick ones I can think of that I loved then and still love now.
Not sure if I did a list that year, but one album is still in heavy rotation for me and that is the self titled debut of the Italian band Il Tempio Della Clessidre. They also played at the last NEARFest, and had the singer from Museo Rosenbach with them (and played some of Zarathustra).
I regularly listen to the 2010 releases from High on fire, Iron Maiden and Star One. And the last two i bought years later. But most bands i thought of had their great releases before or after 2010. At that time i was getting into stoner and psych stuff and that's still my bag. Do listen to more classic releases again since following SOT.
1. Iron Maiden- The Final Frontier 2. Ozzy Osbourne- Scream 3. Scorpions- Sting in the Tail 4. Asia- Omega 5. Mystery- One Among the Living 6. Black Country Communion 7. Motörhead- The World Is Yours
In 2010, I was 50. I find most of your picks so foreign. Agree with Simon’s picks the most. Hard to believe most of these bands I’ve never heard of, and I’m a music junkie since the mid 70’s. My top 3 albums of 2010 are, Against Me”White Crosses”, Drive By Truckers “The Big To Do” and The Gaslight Anthem “American Slang”.
The Lister album kicks ass. My top-10 1) Drive-By Truckers - The Big To-Do 2) The Sheepdogs - Learn & Burn 3) The Gaslight Anthem - American Slang 4) JJ Grey & Mofro - Georgia Warhorse 5) Jackie Greene - Till The Light Comes 6) Esperanza Spalding - Chamber Music Society 7) Widespread Panic - Dirty Side Down 8) Anders Osborne - American Patchwork 9) Eric Clapton - Clapton 10) Jamey Johnson - The Guitar Song Jesus, that list is weird for this channel. :P
Interesting comncept for a show. Perhaps you could revisit this annually and review your choices from a decade previously? Also think you missed a slight point here where you could have listed albums from the relevant year that didn't cross your radar at the time but which you later discovered and now rate highly. Oh, and for sychronicity, didn't watch this live as I was watching Spock's Beard be excellent in Glasgow on Saturday evening.
Only just caught up with this one , couldnt recall any that I bought in 2010, so reading comments and what was in your lists I know I will have got Black Country Communion, Accept, Asia, Scorpions, Iron Maiden but other than that , no idea, and of those the only one I know I've listenened to quite a bit since is the Accept 😁. Your mentioning Spock's Beard though - I went to see them in Leeds Sunday 28th Jan and they were absolutely fantastic - agree with Pete that they slumped a bit after Neal Morse left but Ted Leonard gave them the kick up the backside they needed, absolutely inspired choice to replace D'Virgilio, as he's not only a great singer he plays a pretty damn good second guitar to Alan Morse.
Cool Pigeon Street shout out. My favourite character from the cartoon was long distance Clara. 😂 As for 2010 that were on your lists. I hadn't heard a lot of those bands. My number 1 favourite album from that decade & I remember listening to it when I was working in the warehouse in 2010 on my iPod is Opus Eponymous by Ghost. I remember there was panic from Iron Maiden fans thinking the band were going to retire because of the album's title.
From the good folks at Hop Valley Brewing- 'Stash Bandicoot' hazy IPA. 8.0%ABV "Packs a punch with our stash Citra, Arcanum and Chinook cryo hops. Not really in order but still hold up well today. 1. Coheed & Cambria - Year of the Black Rainbow 2. Deftones - Diamond Eyes 3. Enslaved - Axioma Ethica Odini 4. Jeff Beck - Emotion & Commotion 5. Joe Bonamassa - Black Rock 6. Periphery - Periphery 7. Soulfly - Omen 8. Stone Sour - Audio Secrecy 9. TessertacT - Concealing Fate 10. Agalloch - Marrow Of the Spirit
Made my current top 10 from 2010. Would probably be quite similar if I had made one in 2010 as well. Could see Masterplan and Immolation get a spot back then. Audrey Horne would have crept in later. Not sure if Triptykon would have made it when it was released. Not even sure I should have it on the list now. Have only listened to it a handful of times in the last decade, but when I do it is excellent. Have to be in the right frame of mind, though. 1. Cathedral - The Guessing Game 1. Black Country Communion - Black Country Communion 3. Atheist - Jupiter 3. Star One - Victims of the Modern Age 3. Nevermore - The Obsidian Conspiracy 6. Overkill - Ironbound 7. Audrey Horne - Audrey Horne 8. Melechesh - The Epigenesis 9. Triptykon - Eparistera Daimones 10. Priestess - Prior to the Fire Yes, 1st and 3rd are tied. Could not separate those. 1-5 could all be tied for number one. They are the standouts for me from this year.
I doubt I had a list in 2010, but I can guarantee that Iron Maiden and Armored Saint would've been on it. And while the vast majority of the artists below I'd heard of, I'd probably only heard half of those albums at that time. Today's ranking (the top four would've remained unchanged): 1. Black Country Communion 2. Accept - Blood of the Nations 3. Ghost - Opus Eponymous 4. Joe Bonamassa - Black Rock 5. Cactus - V 6. Jon Oliva's Pain - Festival 7. Iron Fate - Cast in Iron 8. Gypsyhawk - Patience and Perserverance 9. Overkill - Ironbound 10. Helloween - 7 Sinners
My top 5: 1. Accept - Blood of the Nations: Accept were back with a bang. Track to check out: No Shelter 2. Death Angel - Relentless Retribution: Their first album with a new rythm section - that still keeps the machine going today. TTCO: Absence of Light 3. Tank - War Machine: Not the 80's Tank, but quality hard rock with Doogie White singing. TTCO: My Insanity 4. Annihilator - Annihilator: Unflinching thrash metal from the Dave Padden-era of the band. TTCO: The Trend 5. ReVamp - ReVamp: Floor Jansen's band between After Forever and Nightwish: TTCO: The Trial of Monsters I hadn't discovered hard rock/metal in 2010, so this is just my list from today. There are still quite a lot more that would be contenders based on the band, but I'm not familiar with that particular album, like the albums by Raven, Bangalore Choir, FM, Y&T, Loudness, Star One (Arjen has a new project and album on the way, maybe time for another interview here on the channel? 😉), Yngwie, and more.
Watching this Sunday morning because last night was in Glasgow to see Spocks Beard, excellent. They did mention it’s been a while since the last album, and also that this line up were Spocks Beard now and going forward, so hopefully we’ll get a new album.
Spoke to Dave Meros after the gig and he suggested that they felt that they had said all they needed to say so no new album in the pipeline but Alan Morse's solo will be available soon.
@@kenl2091 That’s a pity, thought with all the solo and Pattern seeking animal albums out of their system we’d get a SB album. Maybe the playing together again will spark something.
@@kenl2091 So Morse has a solo album and Meros and Leonard release music as Pattern Seeking Animals, but Spock's Beard have nothing more to say? All very odd.

@@logancollins7097 Thanks! With the exception of Brothers which was in Heavy rotation in 2010 I sheepishly admit that I don't think I'd heard any of these albums until later.
Really enjoyed that show - What a great idea. I had a look at albums released in 2010 and these were my favorites from that year, at the time: 1. Mourning Lenore - Loosely Bounded Infinities. 2. Overkill - Ironbound - 3. Annihilator - Annihilator. 4. Enslaved - Axioma... 5.Alcest - Ecailles.. 6. Iron Maiden - Final Frontier. 7. Deftones - Diamond Eyes 8. Ghost - Opus Eponymous. Since then I would take out, Ghost, Maiden and Alcest and add the following to make up a top 10: Death Angel - Relentless Retribution. Motorhead - The World is yours Dark Tranquillity - We Are The Void Blind Guardian - At The Edge of Time. Accept - Blood Of The Nations. Hope this idea makes a return. The James LaBrie album mentioned by Simon wouldn't make my top 10, but was a pretty good listen. Especially as I woudn't expect melodic death metal from him!
Fear Factory - Mechanize Nachtmystium - Addicts: Black Meddle, Part II Triptykon - Eparistera Daimones Nails - Unsilent Death Deathspell Omega - Paracletus Cough - Ritual Abuse High On Fire - Snakes For The Divine Black Breath - Heavy Breathing Immolation - Majesty And Decay Agalloch - Marrow Of The Spirit
I think it was a very good year, power metal was again on the rise. These are probably the favourites of those I bought back in 2010: Blind Guardian - At The Edge Of Time Burzum - Belus Freedom Call - Legend Of The Shadowking Gamma Ray - To The Metal Ghost - Opus Eponymous Rhapsody Of Fire - The Frozen Tears Of Angels Sabaton - Coat Of Arms Watain - Lawless Darkness
1. Mystery: One Among the Living 2. The Grip Weeds: Strange Change Machine 3. Mostly Autumn: Go Well Diamond Heart 4. Jon Oliva's Pain: Festival 5. Axel Rudi Pell: The Crest 6. Richard Thompson: Dream Attic 7. Gamma Ray: To the Metal 8. HFMC (Hasse Froberg & Musical Companion): Future Past 9. Glass Hammer: If 10. Molly Hatchet: Justice
Not sure how it would have been back then but these days, I'd probably go with these for a rock top ten: 1. Timothy B. Schmit - Expando (country-rock meets acoustic singer-songwriter) 2. Asia - Omega (AOR) 3. Black Butterfly - Into The Exoshphere (melodic, hard rock in the style of Demon. One & done band, sadly) 4. Anathema - We're Here Because We're Here (not sure what genre this is. Post-prog, maybe?) 5. The Sheepdogs - Learn & Burn (Canadian Southern rock - if that's not an oxymoron) 6. Karnataka - The Gathering Light (pastoral prog) 7. Saint Jude - Diary Of A Soul Fiend (rootsy, blues-rock) 8. Steve Unruh - Challenging Gravity (acoustically driven, melodic prog) 9. Ark - Wild, Untamed Imaginings (old-school neo prog, another oxymoron!) 10. Hogjaw - Ironwood (Southern rock)
Mine has changed a fair amount since then. I think everyone's should, it means you're still exploring and discovering new thing, reconsidering old things, etc. 1. Ufomammut - Eve 2. The Soft Pack - The Soft Pack 3. Tame Impala - Innerspeaker 4. Motorpsycho - Heavy Metal Fruit 5. Wolf People - Steeple 6. Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats - Vol. 1 7. Hypnos 69 - Legacy (Elektrohasch) 8. Dungen - Skit I Allt 9. Sungrazer - Sungrazer (Elektrohasch) 10. Been Obscene - The Magic Table Dance (Elektrohasch) 11. Vampire Weekend - Contra 12. Ghost - Opus Eponymous 13. Christian Mistress - Agony & Opium EP I noted the ones that were from the Elektrohasch label, because I was impatiently anticipating the next Colour Haze album, and those three helped scratch that itch.
Apart from Spocks Beard, I`ve never heard any of these albums. I guess I was too involved with my own music to notice. I think that`s around the same time I bought my first PC as well.
Avantasia - The Wicked Symphony Demontage - The Principal Extinction Enslaved - Axioma Ethica Odini Immolation - Majesty and Decay Sargeist - Let the Devil In Sigh - Scenes From Hell Virgin Steele - The Black Light Bacchanalia
Love this part of the channel, even though I don't always like the artists being discussed. Do any of the guys know about the Danish rock band D-A-D? I think they would be right up your street.
I have stuck with it all the way through. The Matt Smith era has aged better than I thought at the time, although the Capaldi stint has a real mix of ups and downs. Struggled a bit with it since but I live in hope.
In retrospect, not a great year - I've got a few of those mentioned (Pineapple Thief, Spock's Beard, Ihsahn, Orphaned Land) but my no. 1 at the time was Thee Silver Mt Zion Memorial Orchestra - Kollaps Tradixionales (GY!BE offshoot with vocals) and I stand by that but maybe joined by Areknamés - In Case of Loss.

5. Vanden Plas - The Seraphic Clockwork
6. Shaolin Death Squad - Five Deadly Venoms
7. District 97 - Hybrid Child

6. Vanden Plas - The Seraphic Clockwork
7. Lalle Larsson - Infinity of Worlds
8. Shaolin Death Squad - Five Deadly Venoms
9. District 97 - Hybrid Child
10. Kingcrow - Phlegethon
Two great lists there George. Interesting how few you've swapped in over the years.
great list 👍😎
It is really great to hear a shout out for The Union, especially Pete Shoulder. He is a brilliant singer, his band before Winterville are very worth checking out especially if you are a fan of Alter Bridge. Winterville are no longer but there was an ep with a band called Silverthorne which included Brian Titchy on drums. He also was part of a band called Sloper with some former members from Golden Earring.
Thanks guys fun show!
I listened to Freedom Call for the first time because of Simon and bought all their albums, looking forward to the new one coning out soon.
Nice one! Never thought I'd hear Aynsley Lister mentioned on SoT
Of all the shows on SOT,the UK connection is my favourite ❤
Not made a list for this year prior to broadcast and currently working my way through the episode, but posting as Pete has listed Spock's Beard. Not long back in from their gig at Classic Grand, Glasgow tonight, and just to say they were fantastic, as ever and a really healthy turn out from what I could see! Catch them on the rest of the tour folks
Some that would have made it Spock's Beard, Haken, Kingcrow, Black Country Communion, Vanden Plas, Anathema, Moon Safari, Hasse Froberg & Musical Companion (far more time for Hasse than the Flower Kings these days), RPWL, FM, Mystery, Hawkwind.
Anthriel - The Pathway
Darkwater - Where Stories End
These ones are quick ones I can think of that I loved then and still love now.
Nice show as always
Very very very cool idea! Wouldn't mind if you went thru all the top 10 since for every year after.
That was/is the plan.
@@simonbrayfromsot1375 nice 🤘 "you know it makes sense"
Many thanks you lads, I chuckled very much, as usual.
1. Iron Maiden- The Final Frontier
2. Ozzy Osbourne- Scream
3. Scorpions- Sting in the Tail
4. Asia- Omega
5. Mystery- One Among the Living
6. Black Country Communion
7. Motörhead- The World Is Yours
Another great show, great topic 😊
In 2010, I was 50. I find most of your picks so foreign. Agree with Simon’s picks the most. Hard to believe most of these bands I’ve never heard of, and I’m a music junkie since the mid 70’s. My top 3 albums of 2010 are, Against Me”White Crosses”, Drive By Truckers “The Big To Do” and The Gaslight Anthem “American Slang”.
The Lister album kicks ass.
My top-10
1) Drive-By Truckers - The Big To-Do
2) The Sheepdogs - Learn & Burn
3) The Gaslight Anthem - American Slang
4) JJ Grey & Mofro - Georgia Warhorse
5) Jackie Greene - Till The Light Comes
6) Esperanza Spalding - Chamber Music Society
7) Widespread Panic - Dirty Side Down
8) Anders Osborne - American Patchwork
9) Eric Clapton - Clapton
10) Jamey Johnson - The Guitar Song
Jesus, that list is weird for this channel.
Great choice Simon Freedom Call We are Warriors 💯💯🤘🤘
Mr Reid.... How did I miss Vanden Plas.... 😮It's going to cost me money.. Again! Just had a listen to them 👍
I interviewed Pete Shoulder prior to The Union playing Steelhouse Festival in Wales.A great album
Great Show. Please do the years 2011-2014 too.
Cool Pigeon Street shout out.
My favourite character from the cartoon was long distance Clara. 😂
As for 2010 that were on your lists.
8.0%ABV
"Packs a punch with our stash Citra, Arcanum and Chinook cryo hops. Discover a juicy jungle with notes of apricots and red berries in the HAZY Imperial IPA."
This is one of those episodes where I watch with a pen and paper near by to write down recommendations. ✌️y'all
Not really in order but still hold up well today.
1. Coheed & Cambria - Year of the Black Rainbow
2. Deftones - Diamond Eyes
3. Enslaved - Axioma Ethica Odini
4. Jeff Beck - Emotion & Commotion
5. Joe Bonamassa - Black Rock
6. Periphery - Periphery
7. Soulfly - Omen
8. Stone Sour - Audio Secrecy
9. TessertacT - Concealing Fate
10. Agalloch - Marrow Of the Spirit
Another great episode.
1. Cathedral - The Guessing Game
1. Black Country Communion - Black Country Communion
3. Atheist - Jupiter
3. Star One - Victims of the Modern Age
3. Nevermore - The Obsidian Conspiracy
6. Overkill - Ironbound
7. Audrey Horne - Audrey Horne
8. Melechesh - The Epigenesis
9. Triptykon - Eparistera Daimones
10. Priestess - Prior to the Fire
Yes, 1st and 3rd are tied.
Today's ranking (the top four would've remained unchanged):
1. Black Country Communion
2. Accept - Blood of the Nations
3. Ghost - Opus Eponymous
4. Joe Bonamassa - Black Rock
5. Cactus - V
6. Jon Oliva's Pain - Festival
7. Iron Fate - Cast in Iron
8. Gypsyhawk - Patience and Perserverance
9. Overkill - Ironbound
10. Helloween - 7 Sinners
My top 5:
1. Accept - Blood of the Nations: Accept were back with a bang. Track to check out: No Shelter
2. Death Angel - Relentless Retribution: Their first album with a new rythm section - that still keeps the machine going today. TTCO: Absence of Light
3. Tank - War Machine: Not the 80's Tank, but quality hard rock with Doogie White singing. TTCO: My Insanity
4. Annihilator - Annihilator: Unflinching thrash metal from the Dave Padden-era of the band. TTCO: The Trend
5. ReVamp - ReVamp: Floor Jansen's band between After Forever and Nightwish: TTCO: The Trial of Monsters
I hadn't discovered hard rock/metal in 2010, so this is just my list from today.
Damn, I forgot Death Angel Relentless Retribution. Good shout 👍 Have to amend my new top 10 now 😄
Watching this Sunday morning because last night was in Glasgow to see Spocks Beard, excellent. They did mention it’s been a while since the last album, and also that this line up were Spocks Beard now and going forward, so hopefully we’ll get a new album.
Fingers crossed Steve!
@@TranquilityFireReid True and of course, they're still gigging but I was being chucked out before the Bollywood party night was due to start (Classic Grand) so didn't have the chance to inquire further.
1 Brothers -Black Keys 2 Innerspeaker -Tame Impala 3 The World is Yours -Motorhead 4 Sea of Cowards -The Dead Weather 5 Tin Can Trust -Los Lobos 6 The Playful Heart -Robin Trower 7 Thank You Mr. Churchill -Peter Frampton 8 Sting in the Tail -Scorpions 9 Dirty Side Down -Widespread Panic.
Brothers is a modern day classic! Nice list
@@logancollins7097 Thanks! With the exception of Brothers which was in Heavy rotation in 2010 I sheepishly admit that I don't think I'd heard any of these albums until later.
Really enjoyed that show - What a great idea. I had a look at albums released in 2010 and these were my favorites from that year, at the time:
1. Mourning Lenore - Loosely Bounded Infinities.
2. Overkill - Ironbound -
3. Annihilator - Annihilator.
4. Enslaved - Axioma...
5.Alcest - Ecailles..
6. Iron Maiden - Final Frontier.
7. Deftones - Diamond Eyes
8. Ghost - Opus Eponymous.
Since then I would take out, Ghost, Maiden and Alcest and add the following to make up a top 10:
Death Angel - Relentless Retribution.
Motorhead - The World is yours
Dark Tranquillity - We Are The Void
Blind Guardian - At The Edge of Time.
Accept - Blood Of The Nations.
Hope this idea makes a return. The James LaBrie album mentioned by Simon wouldn't make my top 10, but was a pretty good listen. Especially as I woudn't expect melodic death metal from him!
Top 3 because I am lazy 1) Watain : Lawless Darkness 2) Overkill : Ironboud 3) Death Angel : Relentless Retribution
Saturday night crack with the boys. 🍺
Fear Factory - Mechanize
Nachtmystium - Addicts: Black Meddle, Part II
Triptykon - Eparistera Daimones
Nails - Unsilent Death
Deathspell Omega - Paracletus
Cough - Ritual Abuse
High On Fire - Snakes For The Divine
Black Breath - Heavy Breathing
Immolation - Majesty And Decay
Agalloch - Marrow Of The Spirit
I think it was a very good year, power metal was again on the rise. These are probably the favourites of those I bought back in 2010:
Blind Guardian - At The Edge Of Time
Burzum - Belus
Freedom Call - Legend Of The Shadowking
Gamma Ray - To The Metal
Ghost - Opus Eponymous
Rhapsody Of Fire - The Frozen Tears Of Angels
Sabaton - Coat Of Arms
Watain - Lawless Darkness
My favorite from 2010 is If by Glass Hammer followed by X by Spock's Beard.
Loved The Grip. And Prozaic by Honeycrack is a fantastic album!
1. Mystery: One Among the Living
2. The Grip Weeds: Strange Change Machine
3. Mostly Autumn: Go Well Diamond Heart
4. Jon Oliva's Pain: Festival
5. Axel Rudi Pell: The Crest
6. Richard Thompson: Dream Attic
7. Gamma Ray: To the Metal
8. HFMC (Hasse Froberg & Musical Companion): Future Past
9. Glass Hammer: If
10. Molly Hatchet: Justice
Not sure how it would have been back then but these days, I'd probably go with these for a rock top ten:
1. Timothy B. Schmit - Expando (country-rock meets acoustic singer-songwriter)
2. Asia - Omega (AOR)
3. Black Butterfly - Into The Exoshphere (melodic, hard rock in the style of Demon. One & done band, sadly)
4. Anathema - We're Here Because We're Here (not sure what genre this is. Post-prog, maybe?)
5. The Sheepdogs - Learn & Burn (Canadian Southern rock - if that's not an oxymoron)
6. Karnataka - The Gathering Light (pastoral prog)
7. Saint Jude - Diary Of A Soul Fiend (rootsy, blues-rock)
8. Steve Unruh - Challenging Gravity (acoustically driven, melodic prog)
9. Ark - Wild, Untamed Imaginings (old-school neo prog, another oxymoron!)
10. Hogjaw - Ironwood (Southern rock)
Mine has changed a fair amount since then. I think everyone's should, it means you're still exploring and discovering new thing, reconsidering old things, etc.
1. Ufomammut - Eve
2. The Soft Pack - The Soft Pack
3. Tame Impala - Innerspeaker
4. Motorpsycho - Heavy Metal Fruit
5. Wolf People - Steeple
6. Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats - Vol. 1
7. Hypnos 69 - Legacy (Elektrohasch)
8. Dungen - Skit I Allt
9. Sungrazer - Sungrazer (Elektrohasch)
10. Been Obscene - The Magic Table Dance (Elektrohasch)
11. Vampire Weekend - Contra
12. Ghost - Opus Eponymous
13. Christian Mistress - Agony & Opium EP
I noted the ones that were from the Elektrohasch label, because I was impatiently anticipating the next Colour Haze album, and those three helped scratch that itch.
Apart from Spocks Beard, I`ve never heard any of these albums. I guess I was too involved with my own music to notice. I think that`s around the same time I bought my first PC as well.
Avantasia - The Wicked Symphony
Demontage - The Principal Extinction
Enslaved - Axioma Ethica Odini
Immolation - Majesty and Decay
Sargeist - Let the Devil In
Sigh - Scenes From Hell
Virgin Steele - The Black Light Bacchanalia
Accept - Blood Of The Nations #1 for 2010. Still Agree!
Love this part of the channel, even though I don't always like the artists being discussed. Do any of the guys know about the Danish rock band D-A-D? I think they would be right up your street.
I'm a fan of D-A-D and saw them last time I was in the UK
When did Doctor Who go downhill for the UK Connection? During the Classic run or during the Revival series?
During Matt Smith's run. I completely climbed off the Dr. Who train during Peter Capaldi's run and I effing love Peter Capaldi.
I have stuck with it all the way through. The Matt Smith era has aged better than I thought at the time, although the Capaldi stint has a real mix of ups and downs. Struggled a bit with it since but I live in hope.
been 6 years since Spock's Beard released new music....Noise Floor was the album released
Motörhead- The World Is Yours
BCC my favourite of that year
Simon check out a band called Northtale, brilliant Power Metal band.
Beer German tonight Schneiderweisse Hopfenweisse Weizendoppelbock 8.2 per cent Nectar ❤🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
Aynsley lister is amazing
Avenged Sevenfold - Nightmare
Linkin Park - A Thousand Suns
Blind Guardian - At the edge of time
Accept - Blood of the nations
Volbeat - Beyond Hell / Above Heaven
Silent Civilian - Ghost Stories
A list that aged like milk 😂
Still, the Blind Guardian and Accept are great
@@Sirdamienfrost Not really. Nightmare is my favorite of all time. LP is in my top 10.
Very nice. I think that the Accept album would still be for my taste rate highly.
Lol Steven, seems if you live outside of Europe and USA, people struggle to actually buy physical copies of albums (cd or vinyl) and have to buy them on import and pay crazily high prices for shipping
1. We Stitch These Wounds Black Veil Brides
2. Nightmare Avenged Sevenfold
3. All You Need Is Now Duran Duran
4. The World Is Ours Motorhead
5. The Upsides The Wonder Years
6. Ironbound Overkill

It aged well.
My classic I pod died to Simon
Chemical Brothers, that's a bit more than fifteen years ago now, more like twenty-five...
Could this be the first time that Simon admits that he's been wrong about something.......
Fairly confident I admitted I was wrong about Simple Minds on the 2023 end of year show! But as a rule...😅
@simonbrayfromsot1375 Hehehe! As a UKC regular and a Scottish person, I can honestly say that I'm gutted that you would ever admit to being wrong about Simple Minds! Really well outside of my wheelhouse, although the Icicle Works were a band that I loved from that era.

Albums I like from 2010
Avenged Sevenfold Nightmare great album Mike Portnoy amazing job on drums honoring The Rev
Alter Bridge III great album Isolation, Ghost of days gone by, Slip to the void.
Slash self titled solo album. Great album has all sorts of guest stars like Lemmy, Ozzy, Dave Grohl, Myles Kennedy is on two songs Back from Cali, and Starlight
Rival Sons EP was released that year a 6 song EP really good songs like Radio, Get what’s coming some great songs
I don't understand Bruce Springsteen at all, I thought only yanks appreciated those sonic sleeping pills... :/
I don't understand the springsteen worship. That album sucked and every album he's made since sucks. Why would guys from the UK fall for crappy pop rock from chairman leather Bruce?
