Question for you: Where did you stay on this trip? Looking for ATV friendly places. Thanks.

We stay in the town of Lake City, it’s on the northern end of the Alpine Loop. It’s one of, if not the last ATV/ITV friendly town up there. Silverton used to be, but they banned them a couple of years ago. Lake City is a beautiful place to stay and the town is awesome

Colorado is a beautiful state. We road horses and hunted our there. Would live to ride sxs out there. Your videos show some of the beauty but nothing like being there. Enjoy and keep them coming.

Thank you! Completely agree…video just doesn’t do Colorado scenery justice.

Oh geeee, we went up there in the late 1980s…in a jeep, carefully - (there weren’t many, if any of those OHVs around.). We are always aware of how far we were getting from civilization in case anything happened with our jeep, or ourselves.
Now anybody and everybody is jaunting all over these mountains in those things ….and tearing up the roads people…. who are not physically fit enough to get themselves back to civilization if they needed to. smh

I used to be a horse wrangler for Wimmennuchi wilderness adventures in Vallecito lake back in the 90's I miss Colorado dearly. The state has gotten far to liberal for my tastes and was so expensive even when I lived there. But I truly loved the lifestyle there.

In Carson city you can walk about 1/4 mile on a walking trail to see the massive machinery the ol timers use when mining, Its worth the walk!, at 11:35 on the left it says BL thats me lol (on the dark grey 1x4)
At 14:52 that trail that goes up to that peak is Called Bent Tail Peak, you get good cell service up there LOL All your rides would have made it up there. We call it play hill, I have a couple videos of it, Check it out.

@BobElgin I was looking for you actually in the video, I didn’t realize you were referring to the walls 🤣🤣 .The whole time I was thinking “I don’t remember anyone else being up there while we were”. We def need to checkout the walking trail to the mine equipment next time. I had heard it was back there but thought it was a riding trail to it and we never saw it. Now we know it’s a walking trail.
