I have been listening to Whitesnake since 1987, the self-titled album "1987", I was 16 then, now 51, in fact we live simultaneously with the legend, as our ancestors lived with Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn, etc. But the years go by ... I now caught myself thinking sadly about how much I do not want to ever know about some kind of Coverdale disease or something like that. So God bless Coverdale and all the members of Whatesnake. While you are alive, our generation is also alive. Well, when we leave, well, well, the legend and music will remain ... And then, I hope this story will repeat itself with our children - they will have the same legend in their lives, which will give them new music, and then history will repeat again with the children of our children ... Isn't this happiness, friends?)
Exactly the same for me! Born 71 and those MTV videos got me hooked as a 16 year old. Got into the earlier albums a few years later after Slip of the Tongue. Bought the 1987 album at the time on vinyl and was intrigued by the fact that the musicians listed were not the dudes in the videos!😂 had to find out more being a guitarist myself.
They abruptly ended their concert tour in June 2022. Coverdale wrote something that the doctor found a cold in his throat. But since then there have been no live concerts and the concert tour for 2023 is not scheduled at all 😢😢😢
No doubt about that. The man has gigantic voice both speaking and singing. But I wish he’d sing more slow and low note songs where his tonal quality is getting better with age. I watched him live in 2016 and he knocked everyone off their feet with sailing ships. Also all of his newer acoustic versions are even better than the originals.

Perfect song for a true love moment!! My (now wife) proposed to me, front and center at a WS show in Aug 2011. She'd shared with a couple of the guys her plan, Doug was in on it and pointed the "will you marry me...Forevermore" sign out to David once the song was done. Then, amazingly, David took the next 45 or so seconds to grab the sign, hold it up for the entire audience to see, and he's asking me...well Geoff, whats the answer going to be?!?! Truly an EPIC moment in our lives. ALLLWAYS loved David and Whitesnake, but this was so much more.

And I am grateful David brought Doug Aldridge, Reb Beach and the rest of the outstanding lineup that created Forevermore and Good To Be Bad. It’s rare for a band to produce such powerful, passionate and poignant works, decades after its initial success. But I now listen to these recent CDs in rotation with the early ones. Stay awesome Brothers!
Whitesnake -- Monsters on a stage! David's voice, any guitarist he ever had, all band members...all top notch! These guys were only matched by 2 bands I can think of, Van Halen, and Ozzy. That's great company to be included with! I love Whitesnake!
