    I want a Fireball table so bad! My plate steel table is so warped from idiots grinding and welding on the top.

      I prefer my Siegmund. It doesn’t get gouged, scratched and the weld doesn’t stick, and yeah, it does stick to CI.

      @@melgross I’ve looked at both tables. Fireball table and fixtures looks to be a better design. It’s oversized and has a flatter specs. The tooling is modular and is cheaper than the siegmund. The tooth blocks are a cool design. Overall the Fireball system looks easier to use.

    Don’t use Crisco. It doesn’t work. I don’t know what anti spatter he’s using, but it shouldn’t cause a problem. I just buy mine from McMastercarr and it’s fine.

      Welding over it this whole time was never an issue, until 3 of the 4 sides of those pickets were welded. We flipped it over and re applied the anti spatter, it went into the weld joint and once heated it had nowhere to vent except out my weld as I closed it up. Other than that it was no issue

      The problem is that he’s got far more accessories than any normal shop would have since, you know, he makes them. It’s not realistic for most people. I’ve got a fair number of clamps and fixtures and it really adds up. I like the adjustable stops, but they’re $80-90 each and you really need at least four, eight is better. So, realistically it’s a compromise.

      @melgross it cost money to do it right.

    • @melgross
      @melgross Месяц назад

      @@whitey7388 it sure does. The question for a one person shop is whether (s)he can afford it. If you’re starting out and you have to spend tens of thousands just to get going, it may not be viable. So you build up to it. I had a company where we have several million in equipment. We were a commercial film lab. We had money to start. If we didn’t, we would never have even bothered.
