Here in Brazil we only have three books by Ernaux, translated to portuguese: "Os Anos"/"The Years", "Paixão Simples"/"Simple Passion" and "O Lugar"/"A Man´s Place". I´ve read all of them and they are such gems. The way you talked about "Happening" was so great, perhaps i´ll buy it in the Fitzcarraldo edition : )
Interesting! I wonder why Happening hasn't been translated yet? It's definitely not her most popular, but I think it's wonderful! Glad to see another Ernaux fan!!
She won the Nobel Prize after getting this news I started to scroll the RUclips For quenching my thirst of Knowing more about her and after watching this video I'm speechless. Adorable writing. Thank you sir making this wonderful review.
I was wondering whether you are familiar with the work of Jon Fosse. I haven’t read anything from him, but if you did would you mind putting together a video about one of his books? I’ve heard that his books are impressive. Many thanks for considering.
Coincidentally, I actually started one of his books, "Morning and Evening," the other day! I've read quite a few of his works and really like him - I'll definitely be doing some videos on him in the near future! Thanks for your interest!
Thank you!! That's something I could do - would you be interested in the "academic bookshelves" behind me there or just my other fiction shelves (or both!)?
@@travelthroughstories Absolutely everything! Big obsession with Norwegian lit recently, so I was drawn to your Icelandic stuff. Hoping you've got more crossover with some other genres I enjoy.
@@seanju Sounds good to me! I've been on a big Norwegian lit kick recently as well so I've been growing my collection. Thanks for the suggestion and the support!

I'm glad you found the video to be of some use! Happening is a brilliant novel and Ernaux really deserves the Nobel. I'm happy she won!
Thanks for this. I looked into some of the samples of her novels on amazon and I was pleasantly surprised. Purchased 2 immediately.
That's great to hear - you won't be disappointed!

@@travelthroughstories thanks!
Could you put the authors mentioned and their works referenced in the description?
Great call - I swear I meant to do that. They should be there now. Thanks!
