    I think that "tree light" absolutely helped in creating depth in the image. It also added more color temperature contrast - cold outside, warm inside. Keep up the good work.

    This is what filmmakers should teach here on YT...not what Gerald Undone, Peter McKinon, etc, are doing...as in nothing al tho they got millions of fans. It's like millions don't want to learn...they just watch. Cheers man and hope for the best for you. You deserve it.

    This video is so helpful with night scenes because it hits on a lot of diverse questions such as:
    How to light interior night scenes, how to mix warm Kelvin practicals with night lighting, how to utilize contrasting Kelvin temperatures, and camera settings for these looks! Thanks so much!

    Yo I love this! There is actually one thing I think could possibly add to the lighting of the scene - An edge light to separate you the actor (you, Brady) from the window a bit and add a little bit of the edge light to the other actor. Either way I love the look of this scene and it came in clutch for something I'm going to be shooting!

      It’s around 2000! On the candle mode it fluctuates

    awesome! could you make a video of how to light the scene you had for the talking head part of the video? where theres white light on the subiect and ~2700 in the background. ISO/white balance settings 🙏🏻

      @@BradyBessette and the ISO? Do you tend to stick to the native ISO of a camera or...? I'm always afraid of noise in the shadows, and want to reduce them as much as possible, but would love to know what's the best approach, in your opinion?

    The aputure light is casting unidirectional shadows making the lighting kinda sourcey.. you'd be better off using a lite mat just below the camera or lighting from both directions since you have candles all over.. my 2 cents...

    What other light can I replace the nova with to do the candle light effect. I can’t afford the nova right now. I have four 120d’s, 300d’s, 300c, mc 4 and B7 c 8 light production kit.
    I’m filming a crime investigation interview type scene. I’m doing the exact setup except I don’t have the nova. What’s your suggestion to replace the nova?

    You flagged the nova with the table to control the spill, but then by adding diffusion outside of the table, you're again allowing the nova to spill all over the place again no?

    I like candle scene always, but I will not put that candle near the curtain window if I were you, for safety reason.
