Hey first of all really nice guide already got 300kc but i have a question, most of the time the melee minions keeps attacking me while running around and i think im doing exactly the same thing as in the vid. Any thought on why the melee minion can attack me serveral times while running?
The melee minion can do weird movements when it's under Zilyana. I'm not sure about the specific mechanics though. It indeed will attack you if you have bad RNG, but I think it'll fix itself after half a cycle.
I'm finding that its a total crapshoot whether or not starlight stays in melee range for the cycle using this method, am I doing something wrong? As far as I can tell im doing the exact same thing in the video, but sometimes starlight hits 3 times (like the video) and then is fine and the other half it just stays in melee the entire cycle unless i skip a shooting tile and keep running
Yea... Starlight has some weird movement mechanics when it's under Zilyana. This can cause Starlight to get "pushed" in front of Zilyana. I don't know the specific mechanics of it. So yeah, if you have bad RNG it can be an issue.
this setup is awesome, only issue I'm having is I don't know which segment is safe to eat at and not miss a hit.. is this possible? if not, is there a specific tile you chose to eat at if you need to eat mid kill?
It also depends on your ranged level, gear and weight. But for level 99 ranged with divine potions and the gear I used, you'd still break even on run energy with lvl 70 agility and 29 kg weight. This is without resetting the instance though. And to compare: my setup only weighs 12kg.
There is a big focus on conserving run energy, with this method. At the cost of a lot of extra clicks. I should probably make a video of a method that minimizes the amount of clicks while still being quite run-efficient.
Is there a method I could do that warms me up to this method? I seem to get hit when I turn north at the alter's end of the room. Then she stops and attacks and I mess the whole thing up. Great guide though, I just might suck

Usually, it gets fixed if you start running faster (traditional kiting) until you manage to get on a tilemarker of the cycle. Blood barrage works, and it's indeed recommended if you have troubles sustaining hp.
quick question: why bring max cape in inventory? you have teleports on book of the dead/ explorers rings and you can bring an extra restore if you dont bring max cape
I don't remember really, other than it having the holy wrench effect and it being nice to tele to POH at the end of the trip rather than to a remote cabbage field. But yeah, you can easily ditch that item.
@@blardmann Do you mean, when you kill it without my method? The movement speed should always be the same, but random methods indeed cause Zilyana to cut more corners.
Hey do you have any tips on stacking the minions to barrage them all? Got zilly down but die trying to stack the minions up. Do you recommend just sustaining with b2p and bp spec?
I think bp spec + b2p + food drops is more than enough yeah. But if you want to barrage the minions, you can first kill the mage minion with bp and then barrage the melee+ranged minion. This is good enough, no need to stack all 3.
Assuming you got the correct tile markers, I think you were too slow. The method should perfectly for Zilyana. Starlight is a different story though. @@TheYellowFlyingFish Starlight has an unique mechanic. If she overlaps with one of Zilyana's tiles, she does a random movement. This movement can stack with her regular movement. But I'm unsure about the finer details about this mechanic.
It's a lot up to personal preference, such as deciding how long you want to stay. Each divine potion lasts 20 minutes. Here's an example of a setup for a 2 hours trip: i.imgur.com/uArGv6L.png
Been a while since I killed Zily, but the method wasn't designed to have those minions guaranteed off-ticked. That shouldn't really be a problem because you can easily off-tick them by walking under one.
Starlight has some weird movement mechanics when under Zilyana. It's possible the method in the video did not fully take that into account. It's probably possible to stop tanking the hits if you skip a red tile, going traight to the next one. Or just tank it, you probably stop taking hits at some point by just continuing the cycle.
The method is always possible, maybe you need to bring a few stamina potions though. Also, notice that in the middle of this video, I skipped the 90 seconds respawn time by re-entering the room. Normally, this is 90 seconds of time in which your run energy regenerates. Even though I skipped that, I still got to 100% energy right before the 3rd kill started. So on lower levels but *with* those 90 seconds energy regen after every kill, you should still be able to barely ever use stamina potions.
Tbow is better than BOFA but due to a different attackspeed it requires a different method. Check this video for Tbow: ruclips.net/video/WUa4T1lRNKo/видео.html
Rightclicking zily isn't needed, but might make you lose some shots on starlight due to the overlapping clickboxes. May take a while to get used to the method with rightclicking, but at least I made the method such that you never need to do multiple clicks in a tick.
That means you aren’t clicking correctly, time wise. If you stall on the yellow tile you clicked the next red tile a tick too late. If you step over the yellow tile, you clicked the next red tile too quickly.
Your kills/hr gets capped by how fast you kill Zilyana. So tagging the minions slightly lowers your kills/hr. Serp helm also costs 1 inv space. But if you can't kill the minions before Zilyana respawns (e.g. low ranged lvl) or if you prefer venoming them for other reasons, you can do so of course.
There's a link to pastebin in the description. Open it, then copy the data. Then on runelite, right-click the world map icon and select the "import ground markers" option.
It's possible to stay as long as you like, but it's recommended to only stay for as long as your ranging potions last. For every divine ranging (or bastion) potion, the trip can be extended by another 20 minutes. It's up to personal preference how many potions you bring. I personally like bringing 6 divine ranging potions for a 2 hours trip. Since I'm getting about 27 kills/hr, that's roughly 160 kills per trip.
I think I took 1 or 2 brews, don't remember. It's nice to bring not only for the high amount of healing in 1 inventory slot, but also for the big defence level boost. An alternative would be bastion potions (or super defence potions). I's all up to personal preference really, if your stats are good and you are decent at flicking the minions after the kill then HP shouldn't be a problem anyway.
They're equally good in most cases, such as at Sara GWD. It only really matters in case the opponent takes reduced damage from specific attack styles. For example, olm's mage hand should be attacked by a mage thrall since ranged hits are reduced.
@@RSCryogenist True. This only matters if the thrall does the finishing hit, which is quite rare. I think magic thrall allows for ~0.03% more kills/hr, saving ~4 minutes total for a 5k kc pet hunt :D However, there's also a mechanic that favours the ranged thrall: if a NPC still has damage queued after reaching 0 hp, they die 1 tick quicker. As example, consider the case where Zilyana has 25 hp, the thrall attacks for 3 damage, and the fbow attacks for 30 damage. With a magic thrall, the order would be 25 --> 22 --> 0. No death speedup. With a ranged thrall, the order would be 25 --> 0, with the 3 damage hit still being queued. This causes a death speedup. All considered, it's unclear which thrall is best; I'd think it's still the mage thrall though. But the differences between the thralls is so minor that it doesn't matter.
High agility and/or ranged helps but is not required. If you for example have 99 ranged, you should still be able to do the method at lvl 70 agility. If you have a low ranged AND agility level, you can eat a purple sweet or drink a stamina dose every few kills.
@@kw7814 Did you run after killing the boss? E.g. for picking up the drops of all npc's and going back to the start tile. That would cost quite a bit of run energy. Level 88 agil shouldn't be much worse than lvl 99.
I don't have rigour and pray steel skin + eagle eye instead, but I feel like I still get shredded by the range minion every time I've tried this method. 99 range/95 def, both potted up. I feel like my setup is optimized for defense (suffering, range cape). You think I should wait until rigour to retry this?
I wouldn't expect you to get shredded by the ranged minion with that setup. Maybe you do need to eat some food sometimes during the kill. But food drops from minions, bp spec, and bones to peaches should make it possible to stay there for a long trip. Anyway, rigour does help a lot, and will indeed make it easier to get long trips.
@@GeChallengeM I tried it several more times and got much better, I only have 92 def and I don't really pray flick the minions unless I'm down to two of them so I usually end up with 20~ kill trips before I run out of either pray or range pots.
How many kills do you get per trip with this method? I can't seem to get it right I barely get 5 kills a trip.
You should be able to stay there forever, basically. Unless your stats are bad, you should profit on prayer potions and food.
@@GeChallengeM I tried it several more times and got much better, I only have 92 def and I don't really pray flick the minions unless I'm down to two of them so I usually end up with 20~ kill trips before I run out of either pray or range pots. Thanks for this method, you come up with some of the best stuff!
