Get em' Bat Kitty !!! Eric, you are the prince of parking !!! I spent 8 days in San Fran walking all over.... rained the whole time !! Thanks for the hard work and the ride along, Love You Guys !!!
The rawness of you looking for overnight or boondocking in areas makes the videos a little more exciting to me.I hope you can continue to do more of this.
exciting? lol. Well, usually it really is exciting for me to not know where I'll be sleeping even by 5pm each night. But in big cities where the streets don't allow you to park.... That's not always as fun for me. lol
Nomadic Fanatic Welcome back to the Bay! Sorry it's so anti-rv. A lot of people are getting forced out of apartments, and trying to live in rvs. The city has really been clamping down due to snooty rich people complaining. Used to be you could stay in the outer sunset district but I think they're starting to put up signs there too. 😑 Also, wtf, exciting? What's wrong with that person lol. Geez.
Hello Eric, I just found your site a few weeks ago and I have enjoyed your travels. I will continue to watch. Lots of information and your parking ' impressive ' . Jax looks to be a great friend.
ERIC, don't forget to visit my home town of SANTA CRUZ! Check out W. Cliff Dr. from natural Bridges Beach to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, then cruise down E. Cliff Dr on over to Capatola. There have been several movies filmed in Santa Cruz including lost boys, parts of sudden impact, return to witch Mountain, and a few more probably forgot about. Alford Hitchcock had a house in Scotts Valley at one time and the Smothers Brothers live there as well. Many famous people either have or have had homes in Santa Cruz County . The wharf near the boardwalk was built by my wife's family including the Canepa's , castinolla's , Italians from the old land and fisherman by trade. My wife's father Atillio Canepa was a very well-known fisherman off the coast of Santa Cruz. He was also a Santa Cruz police officer back in the day. Oh, and Jack O'Neill of O'Neill surf shops and apparel had a house on E. Cliff Dr. There's lots of history in Santa Cruz County . Waymore than I can mention here. I don't live there anymore, but I was born and raised there. Live in Redmond Oregon now. If you haven't already passed it by take a poke around for a day or so. Be sure and visit the wharf. Great fresh seafood and stores!!!!!!!!!
San Francisco is so pretty. I haven't been there since "79" so bet it's really crazy driving in town now. The view of Golden Gate Bridge was pretty. Be safe.
California is Awesome, beautiful and unique. People make bad comments after watching RUclips videos made by some people who had isolated bad incident. Other states don't have bad incidents? Wake up Hillbillies.
I've been following you for a couple of years now and you have inspired me to go full time in my RV. Hopefully this year after I finish the remodel on my house. Keep up the great work!
"If you're going to San Francisco, be sure to wear flowers in your hair..." I remember the Golden Gate Park being a favorite hang-out of hippies and flower children. I remember seeing Black Panthers in black turtlenecks, black leather jackets, and black berets marching in lock-step down a major thoroughfare, each with a rifle slung across his back. I once saw a man walking two Standard Poodles, each with their coats in the familiar French pom-pom cut, one dyed baby blue and the other pastel pink. When you're little you remember stuff like that. Janis Joplin's beloved adopted hometown sure has changed a whole lot. Too bad!
That was so cool. When you hit the spot where Hwy 1 was closed and turned off and turned right again you went right past what used to be "Patient and Family Housing" for UCSF Hospital back many years ago. We stayed there after my daughter was born several months premature and were transferred down to UCSF for her care. When she was finally big enough to leave the hospital after many month she had to stay close to the hospital so we still stayed there - it was her very first home when she left the hospital. It was exciting to see it and be able to have her see it since we now live in the Seattle WA area and don't get down there.
Eric! It's really neat to see you in my hometown. S. F. was very much friendly & fun when I was a young man. It is truly an unfriendly & unwelcoming place now. Forty miles north & south & east--it's all highway hell--traffic nightmare. Thank the Lord I don't have to work anymore. I look forward to the day I can leave the Bay Area forever. Much could be said for the uniqueness & beauty...
About the Vista closures in SF: I was reading somewhere a while ago and they were talking about finding a solution to the over crowding. Apparently people getting in and out of parking spots, people waiting for parking spots, and the traffic backup on the freeway is creating chaos and unsafe conditions. Especially during peak times which is probably spring to fall.
Living in Berlin, Germany, I totally liked how you could ride your bike through the whole city while I was still together with my dog. Now that he's died, I only use my scooter or the car, but still, back in the day when I rode a bike, I never went as far as 18km (which would be about 11 miles). Respect!
Jax I love the Batman cape!!! what an awesome cat! great job with San Francisco Erick, happy that you finally found a nice place to spend the night in peace, beautiful park ride thanks. safe travels.
Before you you cross the bridge your in Marine county which isn't part of SF. Congrats on finding a parking spot for the nite. SF is my home town, I do miss it but to damn expensive to live there now. Oh and Daily City is pronounced day-lee. Enjoy your videos.
great video- I too am a bike rider- use to live south hwy 1 in Davenport,CA-in a 1962 step van -in 1978 when lots of us park in buses along the cliffs ....but seem around 2 am the law would `come a knock` to telling us to move on
As a former San Franciscan, Daly City is pronounced with a long A sound. Retired teachers can't help making corrections!🤣 I so enjoy traveling with you and Jax - my cats say meow....
it is hard to park in SF and Daly City is said like Daily. We have always found parking at the beach but in the park is often hard. any place south of SF on the coast is easier for parking, more rural.
As a UK RV'er I have found that Europe is far more welcoming to RV's with thousands of various RV boon docking - municipal - commercial - vineyards - farms and more places to stay for free, they have got the idea that you will buy locally and positively court your presence. On a recent trip to Italy I found one place that gave free electric and water plus dump station. I wish the UK would catch up but unfortunately there are two main organisations and other commercial companies that like to own everywhere, even Scotland is becoming more restrictive now.
Wow...that is amazing drone footage of the Golden Gate Bridge from that overlook! Thanks, Eric. Oh, and Jax is adorable stalking the pigeons in that cape. (:
Thanks for another fun and interesting video. I really enjoyed it. The new bike looks nice. I would have probably taken a chance on that first parking spot in the park, but it's never a bad decision to play it safe. Happy Trails
You did very well day parking your RV free for a few hours in San Fransisco. The last time we were there we stayed at a RV Park across the bay and took the ferry into the city. Once in the city we hopped on a city trolley to Fisherman's Wharf. From there we got on a double decker hop on/ hop off bus and took a narrated tour of the city, then took another city bus back to the RV park. Costs of rents are so high there the homeless problem has created a no boondocking policy there for years.
love what you're doing Eric. great videos and love traveling with you. somebody may have mentioned parking in and near the Presidio on the on the beach and also I have seen lots of people staying in campers near the Safeway at Crissy Field but that was a year ago. where you stopped in Pacifica. wondering if you noticed the apartment buildings and houses sitting on the Clift ready to fall into the ocean.. the house at the very south end of those houses has a sign asking for a place to take their house too but it has to be vacant land located in Pacifica. I walked down the nice path to the beach in this area saw a couple of people living in tents on the beach and that the North End of the beach there are some great waterfalls and an old truck half buried in the sand near the creek. it is amazing the power of the ocean will take your house into the ocean if given enough time and that is exactly what's happened to many buildings located this area. this has been ongoing in this particular neighborhood for at least 10 years and those houses you are parked in front of are now condemned.. as you came down the coast just below where the Russian River hits the Pacific Ocean there is another section where there are at least 5 houses sitting on the bluff that are condemned and as many houses that have been torn down in the last few years as the ocean is taking these houses also. just below that area is a town called Bodega Bay with a jetty called Doran Beach which used to be our favorite spot to go camp when it was $16 a night , it is now $35 plus $2 a dog times for 4 us. now I would rather Boondock like you. when you get down near San Diego Parking on the beach is very costly and hard to get but we did find a camp spot just below San onofre Nuclear Power Plant with an outdoor shower behind a bathroom with an ocean view 4 $15 a. night but that was a few years back but it was the best spot we found within an hour of Disneyland. did you park your rig and stop after the tunnel at devil slide and hike on the portion of Highway 1 that they have made into the coasta?l Trail that was pretty awesome for me. I myself have travelled both sections of coast from SF all the way down to San Diego and SF all the way to Cave Junction Oregon I much prefer going north than south. Happy Trails buddy
Your subs are really racking up. Over 100K now. Haven't checked out your channel for a few months, I have to say Eric, the quality of your vids is really impressive. No wonder your channel is so popular, and you've become a natural on camera.
Wish you would have been to San Francisco earlier in the week lol. I was there, I was determined to find a spot to sleep and I just couldn't find anything. I ended up driving around 30 miles to a truck stop twice while was in the city. Great info, I'll check out that spot next time :)
Hey!! I am in San Jose... SF sucks for boondocking honey. I think that portion of 1 is closed because the road has fallen off in a few pleaces. it is because of all the rain we have had. Glad you found the spot. If you are coming over the hill meaning like on Highway 101 there aren't a lot of boondocking spots however Stanford on El Camino Real there are a lot of RVs all the time. I am in a RV Park that is cheap enough for the area.
San Fran, the city by the bay! Luv the Golden Gate Park you showed. Jax looked super cute walking around & chasing birds 🐦. I will check out the GG Park soon, never been. I'm a native LA Woman. Thanks for posting this vid, I enjoyed it, awesome!😍👍🏽👏
I'm looking into my helmet cam now as I prepare for my bike tour.will be an awesome adventure for me as I'm 62 and it'll be an awesome adventure for me...THE AMBITIOUS ANTIQUE ! (my brand new travel name !!!) HAPPY TRAILS ERIC AND JAX WHOOP WHOOP😄😎💛Sunny days ahead !
2:16-18. Wow Eric, that was magical! Just as you were saying you wanted to do something with nature, right on cue, a bird flew right up to your head. I agree, Seattle totally reminded me of a better version of San Fran. I have lucked out and every time I've visited up PNW, it has been sunny. I'm a former native San Franciscan, from the olden days when it was more chillax.
Eric , you should always seek out where the local fishing boats parking and marinas parking lots are, Lots of marinas only charge 5.00 parking overnight.
In October at the latest I will be beginning my full time RV life. I LOVE your videos, intend on starting my own RUclips channel, and in the meantime am insanely jealous of the life you are living. Hope to meet you someday! Stay groovy my friend!
I know how you feel about parking. We do field trips in San Fran all the time and have to find a place with our School Bus. Some times we just have to keep driving till they are done, But its my favorite place to visit.
I camped in SF many years ago, but I had a van conversion. I also had a cat, and we traveled all over the western and central US. SanFran doesn't want people living in their vehicles,, places lije Santa Barbara got rid of their RV parks for the same reason.
You could prolly contact "Bex the cat hurder" I think she's from that area and maybe she could give you some insight on parking. Oh, and cool sweater on Jax!!!!
I called to wish you Happy Easter but it was the pre-paid center but anyway Happy Easter & you amaze me with how great your filming, editing & camera techniques are. Plus you got a place, you never gave up, your no quitter. Thanks for making such great films. We look be watching you! Hi Jax, meow meow
I've heard from a lot of my collegues in the tech industry that San Francisco is VERY unfriendly towards van and RV dwellers. It's unfortunate, because they make really good morning working there, and have to turn around and spend most of it on a tiny apartment. As usual, though, you made the best of it, and Jax had fun chasing Pigeons!
Great video, Eric. SF is not an easy place to find parking, even for a small car. Good job on using your resources. Do wish you could have met my daughter. She would have cooked you a home cooked meal, if not working. Me, on the east coast in FL right now. Thanks again! 👍🏻
What happens if you are in a rental car when you go over the bridge? Does Avis/Hertz/Enterprise get billed? Apparently the overlooks are closed because the tunnel is closed for renovation, and they don't want traffic to get bogged down with people entering and exiting the overlooks.
sewashburn0529 I've driven uhauls back and forth across the Golden gate bridge and never saw a bill, I think the rental car places just build it into their overall prices
I couldn't remember if you got down to the waterfront before, where the big ships dock and Pier ?? Is. Fun to take the trolley down there. Great food. 😋
No comments yet?? OK. But this problem of coming in but can't read any comments unless I reboot is a ROYAL PITA! I was using the earlier versions of maps back in the early 2000s while trucking. Best thing I ever did was build a truck tower! One of the great things was being able to just see the stains on the streets from trucks to know where to park in those areas I didn't know. Industrial areas do have a lot of places to park but it's up to the driver to decide if they want to chance them! When street level came along that was great until someone got a bug up their ass and decided to blur out street signs, the information ones and even some names. Glad that stopped and fast! They couldn't do that and offer mapping services! But still, out laying industrial areas if looked at could be the place to sleep if determined to sleep in a certain city for that life time records list! MaryAnn and I did that this past year with no problems. Hell, I had an old Rand that had every city and town I picked up and delivered to for 15 years. It was marked in every time I went to a new town and kept in my briefcase. It disappeared in 1996 when my truck was broken into. Blue Sky's and Safe Journeys!
On Chris and G Travels, Chris has a camera he uses while running, he even had a camera that set on his dog while his dog was running down trails. So there must be a camera that would be adaptable to use on your bike.
Jax in predator mode..
Liked Jax in his Batman cape....you could hear the theme song from the T.V. series playing....
Get em' Bat Kitty !!! Eric, you are the prince of parking !!! I spent 8 days in San Fran walking all over.... rained the whole time !! Thanks for the hard work and the ride along, Love You Guys !!!

I bet it's very nerve wracking to drive in San Fran in the RV. The streets are narrow and steep. Thanks for showing me around the park. Very cool!
Great video, Eric! Thanks, and I hope you and Jax stay safe and enjoy your next adventure.
Very nice views of the big bridge with your drone.
As a cyclist, I just wanted to say thank you for giving that guy plenty of room while you passed him.
San Francisco is so pretty. I haven't been there since "79" so bet it's really crazy driving in town now. The view of Golden Gate Bridge was pretty. Be safe.
Great job parallel parking the beast.
Thanks. I know my RV. :)

Nice video Eric. Loved the Drone video shots near the Golden Gate Bridge. Drive safely and stop at an "In n Out Burger" and take a break!
Hi Eric I enjoy your videos and Jax the cat
And I like the entro to yr videos and the exit in particular the tun in the exit
Suggestion: for your bike trip.. get a helmet cam
Great video Eric ...
Love the combo of your JackDaniels tattoo and coke rshirt👍😍🤘
great video! thank you for the entertainment...
I've been following you for a couple of years now and you have inspired me to go full time in my RV. Hopefully this year after I finish the remodel on my house. Keep up the great work!
Legend. Love the video, so real.
be careful in California & definitely lock it up tight for Jax's safety as well. Cory the Moody Traveler had his RV stolen while in Venice Beach.
I am so excited you are around my area. Enjoy!!!!

Awesome parallel parking of the 'boat' Eric! Woooo felt like I was with you! Fun video!
So cute watching Jax chase the pigeons...he is so chubby and adorable.
Eric, great video and and always be safe out there and remember we are all here as your co-pilot for help and support.HAPPY TRAILS
Thank you fort the video, thanks for the information. We enjoyed your bike ride.

Looked like a long day. Lots of great footage.
LOL!! Loved the end....could just feel the "whew!" at the end of trying to find a spot to park.
Eric! It's really neat to see you in my hometown. S. F. was very much friendly & fun when I was a young man. It is truly an unfriendly & unwelcoming place now. Forty miles north & south & east--it's all highway hell--traffic nightmare. Thank the Lord I don't have to work

Thanks. I know my RV well. :)
hey man great video ! sorry ya had a tought time parking in San Fran ! your spot on Commercial Street in Portland , Maine is open
That was fun!
As you get further south it will become easier to park. Great video and looking forward to points a little south.
I'm glad you stuck with it. It looked like a nice ocean view.
very impressed on the parallel parking! love Jax in his batman cape too.
You got all that good vibes around you dude, keep it up you are awesome
Excellent , Adapt and Overcome , Military Style , Keep on RVing brother

Hi Eric! I had a great laugh at Jax trying to GET a pigeons!
I am glad that you are willing to look weird talking to yourself for our benefit. Great video as usual. 😄
Great video, thanks for the ride along.
That seems stressful, I think for me a van would be in order. Thanks Eric.
Loving your RV Adventures man keep it up cant get enough of your videos! :D

They will add it to your rental bill unless you pay the toll within two days.
sewashburn0529 I've driven uhauls back and forth across the Golden gate bridge and never saw a bill, I think the rental car places just build it into their overall prices
Great SF trip Eric! The views are awesome! New subscriber! 👍
Yay, you guys are in the City! :-)
I couldn't remember if you got down to the waterfront before, where the big ships dock and Pier ?? Is. Fun to take the trolley down there. Great food. 😋
Jack might want to consider light beer. lol. love the batman cape, cool videos bro!
Awesome drone footage!!
Nice parking Eric, there are people that can't do that in a car. Thanks for sharing, safe travels. By the way, the Batman Jax was great!!!
Persistence pays off.
I'm living in WA state and you are right in my sister's back yard!!!!! would live to have hitched a ride!!!!! ;)
Haha. Funny. Climate-wise, SF reminds me so much of back home.
On Chris and G Travels, Chris has a camera he uses while running, he even had a camera that set on his dog while his dog was running down trails. So there must be a camera that would be adaptable to use on your bike.
Good One !!!
They may have had or anticipate mud slides? maybe? That looks like a good spot that you finally found.
