Speaking as someone who used to be dependent on medications like Albuterol, Advair, Pulmicort, and Symbicort ever since his prepubescent years-- my asthma only got better when I forced myself to stop using my medications. I would only allow myself to use my meds if my episodes were sufficiently severe, otherwise I would push through the discomfort until the airways reopened naturally. I did this for several weeks and gradually my need for the meds went completely away. When I was using the meds I used to have asthma episodes multiple times every day, and now I only have minor episodes once every few weeks which I'm able to recover from without meds. I am currently in the process of cutting out my topical steroids for my eczema as well. In my lived experience of these drugs, steroid dependency is absolutely a real phenomenon.

The information that comes with my asthma steroids says differently. It states that use of their medication can actually increase my chance of getting pneumonia.

Yes I just discovered something Bonka, in the steroid I use Beclosomenate ( Brown inhaler )
All these inhalers and vaccines have deadly ingredients.
I don’t listen to doctors or MD’s because they all lie.
To be fair, most doctors don’t have a clue what is in the medicines they prescribe!
It comes up on their computer screen and bingo were the 🥼 🐀🐀..
But MD’s do... So we have asthma, lol are given something to control it!
But ah don’t worry it’ll only probably kill you slowly 😳😳
I’m going to find out the ingredients exactly inside my inhalers, and if I come across any metals, or any of death ☠️ they put into meds.
      I’ll sue they’re a$$...

I wish you would’ve mentioned something about people with asthma that may be taking the wrong amount. Too much or too frequent. Especially because they’re mostly self administering.

True. I was on Advair but the jerks priced it so high my insurance wouldn't cover it any more. Like $5 00 to $600 an inhaler. I got the only available steroid I could get for Athsma which was BREO Elipta. WIthing the time of starting it until like 6 months ago I started getting light flares at night while dealing with headlights and street lights. then it got to the point where I was having trouble reading... One of the things my I doc asked was about the Athsma Steroids, and then he proceded to tell me that they can cause cataracts which I have now in both eyes, My eyes were fine before Breo. they weren't perfect but within a year BREO jacked up my eyes and I had to get surgery on one of my eyes and the onther one will probably need it too. Makes me very angry. Especially when all you want is to breathe and then you get these pharmacutical crap drugs that just mess something else upi. ugh

Inhaled Steriods may not be deterimental for short term but I’ve taken them for 40 years since age 5 and I had yes stunted in height when my siblings were tall, weightgain gain, eye issues with fat deposits. I was having increased joint pain and diabetic symptoms but my markers were normal. I have since weaned myself off then and my asthma comes maybe once every few months in a manageable way sometimes when I’ve over exerted or abit stressed. I know my body enough to focus on my breathing and rest for abit but I’ve never felt better if my inhalers than I do now. I was ready to do this as my asthma has been managed for decades

If possible you should try to find out about what causes the Inflamation in the first place, ie food, environment, pollution maybe you can adjust your lifestyle by avoiding some foods or chemicals eg Sodium Nitrate etc.

Hi dr, I have a question that may seem a bit strange, but if you can just provide me with an answer I would really appreciate it. If someone takes prednisone lower than 0.50 mg like for example 0.30 mg a day, will this cause serious side effects in the long run?

I’ve had lots of shortness of breath lately after never requiring any asthma medications since my childhood. I am now 44 years young. If anyone has information I’d gladly like to hear. Thanks!!!!!

I see the comment down below about the steroids. It is true steroids only cause me more pain then good. I suffer from Costochondritis inflammation of the ribs. This condition causes pain when I'm on any type of steroid. Including steroid inhalers. As a result I'm off the Asthma meds. There has to be something I can take to treat my lungs. I'm resistant for any type of meds for Asthma as well. Asthma treatments don't help either I just remain in inflammation most of the time.
