      Doobie Dooo Since you lived in New York before, is it as bad as Memphis? Meaning the areas in New York , like the Bronx (which sucks in my opinion I live here), Some parts of BK (Brooklyn) or Manhattan ( Spanish Harlem, Washington Heights, etc). Because there seems to be all kinds of crack heads here, especially on the darn trains!, crazy cases and God knows what else. I am dying to move out of NY soon!

    As a Tennessean, I love a high sales tax as opposed to an income tax. This way, EVERYONE contributes, and it’s more of a voluntary decision to contribute as opposed to the government taking their “share” before I even receive my pay check. If I don’t want to pay sales tax, I just need to be more self sufficient.

      Sales taxes are regressive. That is, they impact the poor far more than the rich.
      It is amazing how many non-rich people are so easily tricked into supporting things against their own interests.

    • @MrBudcampo
      @MrBudcampo 3 года назад +8

      @@nobodyimportant7804 better to move to CA where you pay sales tax, and taxes on everything else under the sun. This is one of the most easy places to afford in the country, but i bet if some lefties move in and make a income tax things will get even easier to live, might as well add a bunch of taxes and regulations to make life easier...

    • @nobodyimportant7804
      @nobodyimportant7804 3 года назад +9

      @@MrBudcampo I already live in a blue state with great services and education.
      No income tax, somewhat high sales tax - which sucks, it is a regressive tax that hurts the lower and middle classes. About average property tax.
      If you live in a red state, the odds are that California and my state, among others, are subsidizing your state and are the only reason your red state isn't a 100% third-world state.
      Once red states pay their fair share, you can make fun of blue states, which are wealthier, healthier, and more educated than red state citizens.

    • @dynestis2875
      @dynestis2875 3 года назад +14

      @@nobodyimportant7804 that's an idiotic statement. Rich people buy much much more than poor people therefore they automaticly pay more taxes. They also pay the same percentage of tax, and we both know that, for example, 10% over millions of dollars is way more money than 10% over your basic income.
      As for your blue state health and education? Your education equals indoctrination and has young people ending up with useless degrees, 0 idea of how to care for themselves, and around 100k of student loan debt.
      Sounds very healthy to me.

      Funny, I drove through Nashville this week; as I left Kentucky somebody told me to take care there because of the traffic and dangerous driving. As I approached Nashville the traffic slowed up and it turned out a large part of the motorway was closed, needing a big diversion to get round the town. Took ages. Avoid. And it’s nearly October and still super hot and humid. But the people are very friendly. And Tennessee has real scenery.

      IamJo Tennessee is a dividing line in a lot of ways. It was politically, historically in the mid south region too. The terrain is divided regionally also. So different from Memphis to Nashville to Bristol to Clarksville to Chattanooga to the KY state line. It’s touches so many states. It has 3 stars on its flag because it’s 3 states in one west, middle, east. Was politically divided during the civil war. And still somewhat today.

    • @thethirdgeneration1738
      @thethirdgeneration1738 5 лет назад +3

      IamJo also, there is a difference in accents in Tennessee. Listen closely to an East Tennessee person talk vs a Middle TN person talk vs a West TN person talk and you will hear the change in accent. That does not include outsiders that just moved in of course. Listen carefully and you’ll hear it.

I went to a Grizzlies game, and I swear to God not even five minutes drive from the stadium was a piece of shit, very disgusting and quite frightening. Granted, I was on the Mississippi side, but the city itself is so terrible that it’s managed to spread to areas maybe 10-15 minutes outside. I dunno, just seemed like a terrible place to live by what I saw during my few day stay.

      Yes, there a lot of gentrified areas but I actually saw a variety of areas during my visit over Memorial Day. During that week we stayed in Germantown; I found the Germantown and Collierville areas quite quaint. Activities were still limited or closed for stores, restaurants, etc. due to C-19 but I did get out and around the area. In Memphis, I visited the Riverwalk (downtown Memphis) and Mississippi to the Tangier Outlet Mall in Southhaven (I believe.)

      We had an EF-4-5 in Southeast TN a few years ago that stayed on the ground for about 40 miles. We frequently have tornadoes in the eastern part of TN along with huge lightning storms with cloud tops reaching 40,000 ft. The problem is in the mountains you can't see the tornadoes coming. Nine people were killed less than a mile from my house, so don't say we have no tornadoes. And it wasn't a one time thing. Just in my small town, we have at least two a year if not more. She told the two guys he was a customer and chewed them out. She walked my friend to a safe area, told him which way to go then chewed his ass out and told him NEVER to wonder in to that area again. I now live in the Northeast corner of the state (near Johnson City, TN). From Knoxville to the northeast corner of the state, we have four distinct seasons. Yes, summers can be hot and humid. But winters can be bitter cold. OK, not Minnesota or Kansas territory, but winters can still be cold and snowy. Otherwise, this was a superb video as usual. I was looking forward to this one, and you did not disappoint. And you were spot on concerning taxes and weird laws.

I only know the basics in regards to blues ,rockabilly sun studio and the other local record companies and artists but has it always been the bottom of a barrel?
