It's dudes like this that makes me proud to say IM FROM D.C. 👑
One love, respect
LOVE DC, WE NEED A GUIDING FORCE
in 1993 I was eight years old and I moved to DC from Detroit Michigan. I was on my bike riding Down Franklin St., Northeast and made a left on Michigan Avenue and took that all the way down to Children’s Hospital… As I pulled up to the bridge that took you down Columbia Road, I heard from a street over music/Bloc party. Rolled my bike over there and it was BYB having a block party up Hobart Street. I pulled up and watch the band play and saw big G rockin the microphone and at that moment I knew I wanted to be him. Kids wanted to be Michael Jordan when they were young but I wanted to be big G. I actually told him that when I get older.❤
DID YOU SEND SOME GO GO BACK TO DETROIT
This seems like it was really a therapy session for Big G, because for like 40 minutes straight he talked. And big ups to to Curtbone, because he never stepped in and interrupted G like other podcasters would’ve done. He just let that man get what was on chest, off his chest. SALUTE!!!
Appreciate it champ!
G used to do this at shows from time to time, be in the middle of a vicious crank and stop and talk for like 15 minutes 😂, its G so its ight doe
One of the greatest voices of all time.
Frontmen*
My brother salute from Ethiopia.Their is a large Ethiopian community in DC matter a fact the largest outside of Ethiopia.Respect & Honor by all means
Yene Wendem…I used to party with my Ethiopian brothers all the time back in the day especially at Dukem on U. St..🔥
Thanks champ, please share the channel
This is true.. I have a lot of Ethiopian friends..
@@thecrownprince6870 Bro if I gotta go to Africa, Ethiopia is where I wanna be. Lol

Man I'm a Brooklyn NY transplant been in DC since 1990 . I'm caribbean (Trini ) I got family in NW and MOCO , they migrated to DC to go to Howard . NW DC remind me of BK for real . My friends from DC put me on to grown up GOGO the IBEX to be exact . Big G is an icon . Not just for DC but on the WIRE this guy had the most quotables . He displays a helluva passion . This guy needs his own podcast for real along with some movie roles or Netflix . Fitty need to put this guy on POWER , BMF sumthing , he can hang with the best of the actors out there for our genre of flix . He is to DC what Michael K Williams was to BK . I want to see this guy win . One Luv !!!
Respect!
@@curtbonetvThe character Big G played in The Wire Slim Charles reminded of Black Just out of the Supreme Team, played fair, loved and respected by different crews throughout the city, respectful
I'm hip to Black Just, never met him personal. But I heard his story from some good NY dudes
@@curtbonetv 💯
My family from Harlem n Brooklyn I grew up n PG but big G my guy my older homies would take me upt 14 n 16 street all love
When You Get Around OGz like this , Keep Your Mouth Shut And keep your Eyes and Ears WIDE OPEN 💪🏾
This was a classic interview. I've been rocking with Big G and BYB since 95 when I saw them for the first time at the Zulu Cave with Scarface and R.E. I just remember walking in, and they were hitting Rise. His voice over that Crank will resonate with me forever slim. #DC4LIFE#BYB4LIFE
Two DC Legends right here..Big G always showed love when I ran into him.
I’m from North Carolina. I got turned on to DC culture from colleagues of mine back in 2009. Kush Lo from UEB to be exact. He was one of my close partners. Never knew anything about DC then. Didn’t even know it was a city. From the fashion, the slang and some of the most gorgeous women on the East Coast, I was enthused. Even became a Nationals fan back in 2010. The music drew me more to it than anything. I love gogo music. This man is truly a DMV legend. Not just DC alone.
Standing on man time.... This what we need more of. Salute
Yall brought me back, golden dome, sweatstyle, prince and princess, park rd, black hole. Thanks a million. I miss the old DC that I learned when I first moved here
My main man
Right! And the Golden Dome over Beltway Plaza. 😂
Ain't nothing but jewels in this joint here...Curtbone keep doing what you're doing 💥
Thanks champ
@@curtbonetv As a Harlem brother born and raised, I love that Big G shout out Maryland and VA. A lot of us from NYC and DC never give props to our VA and MD brothers who are stand up men, and welcome us to their towns to get busy. Matter fact Jay- Z the first one to show through actions he appreciate what a Maryland man brought to the table (Emory Jones)
Man Big G you saved mine and all my brother's lives. In 1994 I heard BackYard for the first time. I’m from a little place down 29 South Virginia. I was 12 and my brothers and I started the D.I.B GOGO band. Thank you Bone and thank you BackYard!
Thank you Curtbone!
