jusr done this with a new set of clutch cork plates and a new 60 % clutch spring on top of the standard one , its a serouse left hand work out , but ive hammer the crap out of it and it will not slip at all , plenty of rear wheel smoke and huge wheelies , i recomend 100%
Buy a set picks (or a pointed piece of metal) and be sure to clean out the Torx recesses on the cover screws. You want the Torx bit to get a full bite.
Rick Rash sells a spacer to prevent the movement you describe. People have been doing without it but no one brags thay they ruined anything and should have did it correctly the forst time. Roll the dice. Buy spacer ring is my philosophy.
Same issue here. Replaced the master cylinder with the lever and still can't get it into neutral. Also got new clutch. Wonder if this helps or fix this issue
I have a 97 VMAX 1st gen and I started it let it run on choke for a couple minutes till warmed up then took off out of my driveway and it was running great I shifted gears and it died now it's not firing or getting any spark any ideas
I replaced clutch plates, now the clutch is hard to squeeze and won't disengage any thoughts. The clutch worked fine before I changed the plates. I followed every step, but I must have overlooked something. HELP?
I did this mod 22 years ago to my first VMAX. Great upgrade and easy to do. Now doing it to my latest gen 1. Thanks for the refresher Brian.
Great super-BIKE
Good job explaining this. I have a clear cover on the way and this was very helpful
Clear covers are awesome!
Thanks for the walk through on this.
Why only the one video? You'd do us all a favor by posting other videos on your knowledge of this machine
Good video Brian, the DD mod is a great one.
many thanks, love from london UK

where do you buy this clutch mod? thanks
New to the VMax world…what is the purpose of adding a second spring?
Just wondering.. how does this compare to that purple clutch thing (Barnett?) with the three heavy Springs and three lighter springs?
That’s a great question . I have been wondering about one of those myself . Anyone have any feedback ?
Hello,
how long have you been driving like that? Isn't it possible that the second spring slips and destroys the housing?
Greetings

Where do iget the DD bit to do mine
Question… how long does the leverage become?
My 92’ VMAX will not go into Neutral after starting. Works fine with engine off. Will this mod help that?
