The Bulgarian traditions are unique and they are a real treasure! The Bulgarians have survived for 5 centuries as slaves to the Turks precisely because of indestructible spirit, faith and centuries of tradition! Everyone who stepped on Bulgarian land falls in love for a lifetime because Bulgaria is Paradise! I'm proud to be BULGARIAN!

It is wonderful to see two young people from Western Europe embracing our culture and trying to absorb as much as you can. Indeed you should travel to those places where you can feel our culture and what we are made of. Haha i live there and actually that festival is at the first sunday of june , i think when you were at the kapana fest , at the same time here was being held the rose festival and the people in the video are from the local ensembles and some of the queen of roses , because we have a beauty pageant every year and choose a queen.

They collect the roses, then boil them in pots in a rose brewery, rose oil is obtained. Bulgaria is the largest exporter of rose oil in the world and it is the highest quality in the world. 1 gram of Bulgarian rose oil costs 56 dollars. From 3 tons of oil roses make 1 liter of rose oil. It is used in cosmetics.

The festival is very beautiful indeed and people try to keep traditions alive , but in reality the rose pickers are having a crisis right now because of the very low price of the roses , they are protesting but our government hates us.If they weren't trying to systematically destroy our country , every day would be like in this video.
