omg if only it were that easy..i have almost 3000 hours on SE i have never gotten a program block script to work..i'm convinced the program block is an elaborate prank to drive me insane.
Have you tired it on your own stand-alone instance? Many public servers have scripts disabled for performance reasons. I'm curious where you're getting stuck that differs from what I showed in the video - I'm always interested in intel gathering! :)
Thank you sir have been looking for this video for awhile now all i needed to know was how to make edit appair in the programmable block thanks couldn't find this info anywhere else on yt.
Not a GPS bug, so I think the idea is not to crowd your screen. If you add gps's to lcds it will automatically add it to your gps menu when looking at it, but grey. So this lets you on a server share coordinates but not be annoying or post in chat. At least in my brain.
It was more that they didn’t even stay when first added. You could add them, they’d be grey, and a couple minutes later they’d be gone. That act of cycling the newly added coord from the data pad to visible then back off seems to fix it. Others have reported the same thing - “why are my data pad coords disappearing after I add them.” I’m curious about what you said about adding them to lcds though. Is there some script-less way to take a data pad coord and add it directly to an lcd? Or any coord I suppose.
You're more correct that you realize! :D Scripts and the programmable blocks are a more advanced aspect of the game - most folks even often wonder for months what they are used for! Totally understandable it losing you. :)
So I have discovered that if you plug in the GPS coordinates that you have in the clipboard and copy that information into a data pad you can create your own GPS data pad this is for console players
@markgatton5096 In addition to experimental mode, go to your save file before loading, check the box to enable scripts, save setting, then load game. That should do it for you- hopefully!
If you're not seeing what I showed in the video, it's most likely that the server you're playing on has disallowed/turned-off scripts - OR - experimental mode isn't turned on in your stand-alone server. In case you missed it, that part is described at about 4:45 in the video - see if that helps! LEt me know how it turns out. :) @Viper Reflex
@@Oearth I have experimental mode turned on, but I still don't see anything. I'm in my own stand slone server. If it is of any help I am on Xbox. I will try again tomorrow.
The last part that you talk about displaying to lcd is unclear. That part you should have "shown" us the specific steps in how you did it instead of just "told" us
I used the LCD one as more of an example for how to load scripts; any script. There're other scripts that don't have anything to do with the LCD displays, so for this video I meant to be more generic. I could though show something more specifics about just the LCD display scripts because I do really love them...adds a lot for me to the game! I'll try to remember to put that suggestion in the queue of videos. Appreciate the input!
I think it would be a good idea because it's not that I want lcd screens specifically. I just want to see a script work. You did a good job on teaching us how to set up the ability to script, and it helped because you "showed" us. But then you tapered out. We didn't get to see you specifically setting up, and then running the script.
@@Oearth Usually, but with this game, Probably have access to scripts later in the future of this game. Since you do have access to mods on it, It's mainly because most games, the mods aren't actually supported by the developer, In this game, the developer supports them in a way. which I like that I wish more developers would make it easier for them to come into console.

Get chat gpt to write what you need and go through errors. Works flawlessly
This is the most useful video I’ve found all day thank you good sir and keep up the good work
Very much appreciate hearing that Devilish David!

Glad you found the bit you needed!! And you're right, the information out there about how to get scripts incorporated is a bit thin.

Love your designs 🖖
lost me right away... seems like a good video for someone who already knows what a data pad is, or how to even get into these menus

I don't have the option In game script on console
I have exp turn on. When I acces the block there is no option to "edit" Only things down there are Custom Dara and Content.

I don't see a in-game scripts button

hmmm...don't know anything about xbox and ability to use scripts. Might be worth a google search on that one.
@@Oearth Alright, Thank you for helping me.
Microsoft is being pretty cringe not allowing scripts
Just buy a pc, xbox is not made for this shit

I wish Xbox had this. That would be better for me.
Doesn't work on console
Correct. Consoles don't have any ability to 'add scripts' (and often mods) - you usually get what you get that comes with the game.
