      She has to. A recorder will start to sound hoarse after about 15 minutes of playing due to the humidity of your breath soaking into the wood. After being played for a while, a (wooden) recorder has to dry before you can play it again.

    • @sabrinalauenstein
      @sabrinalauenstein 9 месяцев назад +4

      That depends on the recorder and the conditions (humidity, temperature). If the Recorder ist played in well (and I think all her recorders are), you can play up to an hour or even longer. I think she wanted to show the spectrum of recorders and their different sound colours.

    • @jeanniwiese3462

      There are 5 main different recorders that vary in sizes but they switch between being in C and being in F. Therefore the recorders like the sopranino, Alto and Bass are played with the same fingering but to achieve the same notes different fingerings are used on the soprano, tenor. They all read in the soprano key but obviosly the timbre of each one is different, so yes you can technically play all of them if you can play (for example) the sopranino (in F) and soprano (in C) but each one has a very different feel to it, so each one is kind of like a "new instrument". Lovely collab!! Lucie Horsch is such an inspiration! I really understand Eddie’s pain when he tried to play the lowest note on the voiceflute using his leg hahaha that happened to me the first time I tried it after watching Sarah Jeffery do it 😂

    Brett and Eddy change my life. Like 1,5 years ago I was a bored student with zero knowledge in music AND CLASSICAL music, at the time i discovered a instrument, the clarinet, i started to study clarinet and classical music at the conservatory, and i started watching twoset videos, i started like classical music and THE VIOLIN, i love this instrument so much that in september 2023 finally i start taking violin lessons!!!
    I’m so happy thank Brett and Eddy for change my life❤
    (Sorry for english errors i’m italian😅)

    This was a lot of fun. Lucie certainly wasn't going easy on Eddie with regard to repertoire! Some of those are on my list of things I want to learn, but I'm not good enough to play yet, like the Vivaldi. Others I could probably play, given the music and time to work on them.
    Eddie's tone on the low notes at the beginning of pieces is actually quite good, very good for a beginner. Of course, the stuff in the middle involves a lot of randomly waving fingers around and squeaking, which is hilarious to watch. Their faces are also fun to watch, especially Eddie's when she started in on that Vivaldi concerto. Mouth hanging open...
    Anyway, nice video guys. Enjoyed it.
