Before I returned to the Lord about a year and half ago, I was practicing New Age, Witchcraft, Eastern Spirituality, etc. Charismatic Christianity and Deliverance Ministries were the very first thing that I was introduced to on my new walk with Christ. After I got saved, I believe that God used it to introduce me to his kingdom because of my obsession towards the supernatural. I even went to several deliverance events by a very very famous deliverance minister. Not once did I get delivered or "manifest" while I was there. I can assure you that I dabbled in the supernatural for 13 years and if anything I should've had demons come out of me during these events. Nope. While I did see others "manifesting", throwing up, and such, It was honestly a huge show. I remember that they tried laying their hand on my head and were trying to push me down, I resisted and didn't fall like most people did lol
Anyways, God changed my heart over the course of time. He showed me the value of community, humility, and Love. I was definitely humbled throughout my walk and God showed me that it was my pride and obsession towards miracles that had me attracted to these ministries. While I'm not saying that these people are evil or anything, I do believe that there is a lot of pride, idolatry, and self-delusion involved. Many of times, sin has nothing to do with a demon and has everything to do with ourselves. Also, what we focus on is what we worship. It's a game of attention. If the focus is on demons and not on Christ, then we've lost. The deception is to get you distracted from Christ using things that seem like they are important. The thing is though is that demons are real and while I was in my charismatic phase I did feel a lot "demonic" activity and everything that happened negatively, I placed that label on it. However, when I stopped focusing on those things and shifted my attention on Christ and abiding in his Love, all that fear, and obsession towards the kingdom of darkness went away.
Love is the Greatest y'all. It's the way of life that is best of all. Focus on God's Love.

I was one of the deceived. My church took this turn toward deliverance/demon slaying and sadly, so many have fallen into this deception, and I was too for a time. I have been to Locke's tent for a revival and Signorelli has been to my church for "deliverance night". It's so heartbreaking to know you we're so misled. I have come out from among so much false teaching over the last 10 years that I am now working towards undoing all the lies I was led to believe. I am praying for those still believing in those lies. 💔 We must know the Word of God ourselves so we aren't deceived. God bless.

Wow this is so needed right now! I grew up around folks who believed this. Sadly, for the longest time I was scared to death that if I sinned any sin I'd need deliverance. We really have to take responsibility for our sins and repent. I started reading the Bible after I was saved and I didn't read anywhere where a Born again Christian can be possessed. We have the Holy Spirit! Thanks so much for the solid teaching. I'm sad so many will believe and live in constant fear.

@@angelagrant2943 ma'am a born again Christian CANNOT be possessed by a demon. We can be oppressed and attacked from the outside but the Holy Spirit will never allow His temple to be invaded by a demon. Sadly these deliverance ministries are part of the NAR movement which is steeped in occult practices. It's very sad and super dangerous spiritually. My prayer is that people would take personal responsibility for their sins and repent and not try to blame a demon for every sin they struggle with. We are accountable to God. Can the unsaved be possessed? Absolutely. But a born again Christian can never be possessed.

You can tell how good the tree is by the fruit it produces. The people who follow Greg Locke and others like him are not interested in having civilized discussions about how what they believe is not always biblically supported. They are typically strangely defensive, and resort to insults. I personally know someone who started following Greg Locke and any time I raise an issue with something nonbiblical he has said the response is either “well that was taken out of context” or they accuse me of not being a true believer of Gods power to heal. Completely blows over my concerns. I have an autistic daughter and I can guarantee she is a gift from God and there is nothing demonic about her. I am actually amazed by how many Christian’s are fooled by him. I wish more people would speak out on this. Thanks for doing it!

I was initially going to ignore this video but it prompted me to listen to Pastor Vlad's rebuttal. He confessed that he is following Pastor TB Joshua's teachings and I got chills. TB Joshua is a Nigerian pastor who swept through Africa about 10-15 years ago and anointed lots of pastors in different countries. However, his crusade through the continent wrecked a lot of Christian communities who got sucked in by the miracles. now you will find a church advert talking only of miracle money and deliverance. I pray for America and the rest of the world so that they do not get sucked into these false teachings. I am not saying these American pastors are bad people, but please pray for your country and the world so that they do not get sucked in. I know the rodeo... first deliverance, then miracles mostly about people in wheelchairs, then miracle oil, then miracle money, then miracle weight loss and other insanities. The fact that these deliverance Ministries are shooting in fame after the death of TB Joshua also worries me. I myself believe in deliverance but easiest way to discern who i'snt following the right leaders is anyone who mentions TB Joshua, Pastor Chris Oyakilome, Pastor Bushiri etc.

  • @Dan-pt2tn
    @Dan-pt2tn Год назад +1

Deliverance isn't just phony, it's very dangerous. The worst sin of all is taking the Lord's name in vain. How do we know? From the Third of the Ten Commandments. This is the only one of the Ten that states God will not forgive a person who violates the commandment. What does this Commandment say? It is most commonly translated as, "Do not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain. For the Lord will not hold guiltless" -- meaning "will not forgive" -- whoever takes His name in vain."
Most people understandably think that the commandment forbids saying God's name for no good reason. So, something like, "God, did I have a rough day at work today!" violates the Third Commandment. But that interpretation presents a real problem. It would mean that whereas God could forgive the violation of any of the other commandments -- dishonoring one's parents, stealing, adultery, or even committing murder -- He would never forgive someone who said, "God, did I have a rough day at work today!" Let's be honest: That would render God and the Ten Commandments morally incomprehensible.
Well, as it happens, the commandment is not the problem. The problem is the translation. The original doesn't say "Do not take;" it literally reads, "Do not CARRY the name of the Lord thy God in vain." One of the most widely used new translations of the Bible, the New International Version, or NIV, uses the word "misuse" rather than the word "take:" "You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God." This is much closer to the original's intent.
What does it mean to "carry" or to "misuse" God's name? It means committing evil or deception in God's name. And that, God will not forgive. Why not? When a non-believer commits evil, it doesn't bring God and religion into disrepute. But when believers commit evil or deceive, especially in God's name, they are not only committing evil, they are doing terrible damage to the name of God.
In our time, there is an example of this. The evils of Islamists who commit acts of terrorism in the name of God do terrible damage to the name of God. It is not coincidental that what is called "new-ageism" (the immense eruption of atheist activism) followed the 9/11 attacks on America by terrorists. In fact, the most frequent argument against God concerns evil committed in God's name whether it is done in the name of God today or was done in the past in the name of Christ via the Crusades, Protestants killing Catholics for not converting, or the Catholic Church selling people fake "indulgences" for profit under the authority of The Holy Spirit in order to skip the line into Heaven. Deliverance is just the new-age form of taking Jesus' name in vain.
People who sin or deceive in the name of God not only harm their victims, they harm God, too. That's why the greatest sin is religious evil. That's what the Third Commandment is there to teach: Don't carry God's name in vain. If you do, God won't forgive you.
    Scripture:
“If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.” - Exodus 15:26
"Whoever hates disguises himself with his lips and harbors deceit in his heart; when he speaks graciously, believe him not, for there are seven abominations in his heart; though his hatred be covered with deception, his wickedness will be exposed in the assembly. Whoever digs a pit will fall into it, and a stone will come back on him who starts it rolling. A lying tongue hates its victims, and a flattering mouth works ruin." - Proverbs 26:24-28
"For false Christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect." - Matthew 24:24
"But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction." - 2 Peter 2:1
“Every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words, thou shalt be justified, and by thy words, thou shalt be condemned.” - Matthew 12:36-37
"For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil." - 2 Corinthians 5:10

Jonathan you are so right and so wrong. "Deliverance Ministry" as presented today is a mixture of truth and error. There is too much error which is mainly due to bad teaching and ignorance and it needs to be corrected. However, Jesus gave this to the church as a continuation of his own ministry. Mt. 12:30 “He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters."
This scripture follows, and is in direct relationship to, the healing of a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute. Mt. 12:22-29
Jesus also said Mk. 16:17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; Mk. 16:18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will
place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” Mk. 16:19 After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God.
Also Jn. 14:11 Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles
themselves. Jn. 14:12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. Jn. 14:13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. Jn. 14:14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it."
Unfortunately, Johnathan, you're ignorance is all too apparent in some of this post. You're more of a baptist than a disciple of Jesus Christ. It is written Mt. 4:23 Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people. If your not preaching the good news of the kingdom what are you preaching? Jesus was preaching this long before he went to the cross and according to Mt. 24:14 Jesus expects this to be preached until the end.
So Johnathan, take the time to check this out and adjust your theology accordingly. God bless.

There is a criteria that the word of God says a man must possess if he is going to be an overseer within the body of Christ! I don’t say this but The Spirit of the Lord says it is written:
Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of full respect. (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God's church?) He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgment as the devil. He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil's trap.
    1 Timothy 3:2-7

My husband pastors, and we are over 55. We have been Christians since childhood and were raised in Christian homes. I said this in the hope that you would accept what I am about to say in love. If you continue reading I Cor. 14, it talks about the gifts. I don't believe that they ceased. I don't believe that we have been taught effectively about them. If you visit with missionaries, they can tell you all about demonic activity. One missionary even told about the woman who began speaking in tongues and was praising the Lord in fluent collegiate English. He knew that she didn't know the language. The devil has power to remove sicknesses that were inflicted upon others to bring glory to himself. Johanna Michaelsen wrote a book 'the Beautiful Side of Evil' which documents this perfectly; you should get yourself a copy and learn about evil powers.
To claim such as you have that devils do not cause sickness is directly contrary to Jesus ministry as he cast out devils and people were healed. Is it always the case? NO. But sometimes and maybe often times it is.
You are willingly ignorant of the spiritual battle that we live in. Voodoo dolls, seances, curses and cursed objects are real. Wicked unrepentant whose father is the devil do have power to curse and send cursed objects to others to bring harm, sickness, poverty and destruction. Witches are real and they have real power, just as we too have been given power over all the works of the enemy, but so few preachers like you REFUSE to believe God's Word on this subject and leave your followers helpless.
I did listen to a bit more of some of your teachings and was left with divisiveness of greek geek emptiness. We live in the most evil days since Noah, yet it seems you are more concerned with dividing the divisions.
I hope you get that book- The Beautiful Side of Evil and educate yourself on the real battle we are all in. For God has NOT given us the spirit of fear, but of POWER and love and a sound mind. Pray tell, why did God give us power?
I wish you no evil, instead I would hope you expand your understanding to the full Gospel of Jesus Christ. Blessings.

As “the body” of Christ, we need to be focused on bringing people to Christ rather than getting in social media and professing to be Christians while bashing others who profess to be Christians. No wonder people are leaving the churches or not even bothering to go at all. This issue is a non salvation issues. Makes me sick the was denominations fight and go after one another all the time. Same thing happens with end time. Ask preachers from 10 different denominations to explains the same Bible verse and you will get 10 different explanation. People don’t want to be a part of the “I’m right. You’re wrong” crowd.

From those who apparently knew it all about GOD'S kingdon, the religius. Same is happening today. So, pastor, be humble and be prepared, the promise given to us by the very own JESUS said the we would do in HIS name and we would witness even more wonders that back then. Yeah, I’ve seen that some of these “deliverance ministers” are coming out with a movie to promote their various ministries. I’ve watched a few of these supposed deliverance services. One centered on a young child that was reportedly possessed by a mermaid spirit after watching a National Geographic documentary. I remember thinking to myself at the time, surely no true Christian in that church or anyone watching this online would consider this to be a legitimate Christian experience.
Boy was I wrong. Multiple people commenting on how wonderful this “ deliverance” was. Another event was a girl manifesting some strange demonic voice. When asked how the demon entered, she said something to the effect of because she was too afraid to step out in her own deliverance ministry.
This stuff is beyond the pale. We are not talking about conventional charismatic experiences of tongues, prophecy, etc. much of this seems completely inauthentic. It seems like discernment is hard to find in many of these churches that promote such strange and often unbiblical practices.

I can't believe what I'm hearing. It seems as if you don't believe in the five fold ministry (Ephesians 4:11), or maybe you only believe in the part where you could call yourself a pastor. Aside from that, Jesus said in John 14:12 that whoever believes in Him will do the works that he does and even greater works will they do because He go unto the father. This shows that the truth didn't end when Jesus died, after the disciples died, or after the apostolic age. The truth didn't die, the truth has not changed and the devil is still working and so is the Holy Spirit. Possessions happened back then and they still happen which requires deliverance. Also, notice how Jesus didn't limit the works he did/does to only the disciples, he said that all who believe in Him will also be able to do the works of Jesus. He also references that people will continue to cast out demons in His name and it will work (but it also mentions how people also need to live right according to his word - Matthew 7:22-24). The WHOLE chapter of Corinthians 13 paints a bigger picture of what is means by verses 8-10. God is love. When we don't have God, nothing is complete and everything is in part. When we love God and have/exercise our faith,, we become complete and so do our gifts given by the spirit. One of those gifts mentioned is prophesy, which is apart of the 5 fold ministry which is supposed to be the backbone of God's church. Scripture will not contradict itself. Deliverance is still needed in today's times. Even the occult knows what's up with the spirit world and that the spirit world is still moving.
Moreover, have you ever heard of what happened with Dave Bryan and Anton LaVey, testimonies and stories from former occultists turned Christians, how Voodoo works, or wondered about how some people commit HORRIBLE acts and don't remember anything at all? I've seen someone be possed, before and after and it happened (I wish I still had the video), I've seen a demon, I've interacted with a spirit guide/familiar spirit (demon), and the veil between the spirit world and the physical realm is thinner than you could imagine. Bless your heart.
Y'all, please use your discernment and ask God yourself if his will and word for the church has changed just because Jesus and the apostles passed away. I thank God you haven't seen and heard what I have but teachings like this are dangerous. Allowing demons to remain in people is CRAZY, they already walk amongst us. I've seen one (and I haven't been able to sleep peacefully since), he tried to enter me but God wouldn't let it happen (I was still new to being a real Christian and had radically changed my life).

When the crowds heard Philip and saw the signs he performed, they all paid close attention to what he said. For with shrieks, impure spirits came out of many, and many who were paralyzed or lame were healed.
Helen Shapiro gave a testimony years ago on when she received JESUS as messiah and said that she couldn't stop smoking, but one day, after prayer she felt this nauseous feeling and felt something leaving her. She said after that experience, the desire of smoking completely left her.

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,
As far as the person who geos out on a crusade to perform the miraculous in JESUS precious name, they have nothing to boast about, All The Glory Is To The LORD and the LORD only.
      Matthew 7:22-23

      8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
Gods gifts are still given and very present today, because Both Malachi 3:6 and Hebrews 13:8 declare that God is the same always and never ever changes. He is always good, always loving, always all-powerful. No matter how this world changes around us, we can trust God is consistent.
I honestly don’t see why God wouldn’t give us gifts to help us. The Spirit of God works through the spiritual gifts in ways that can be perceived by both believers and unbelievers. Believers are encouraged through the manifestation of the spiritual gifts because they are reminded that God truly is near and is actively, diligently, carefully, and thoroughly carrying out His will in the earth. Unbelievers come face to face with the reality of the living God as He displays His power, His love, and His wisdom through His people. So, yes unbelievers will also see the works of God.

When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and bowed down before him; and he shouted at the top of his voice, ‘What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, do not torment me.’ For he had said to him, ‘Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!’ Then Jesus asked him, ‘What is your name?’ He replied, ‘My name is Legion; for we are many.’ He begged him earnestly not to send them out of the country. Now there on the hillside a great herd of swine was feeding; and the unclean spirits begged him, ‘Send us into the swine; let us enter them.’ So he gave them permission. And the unclean spirits came out and entered the swine; and the herd, numbering about two thousand, rushed down the steep bank into the lake, and were drowned in the lake.

Then JESUS asked him his name and the spirit said Legion for we are many.
Then the scriptures say" Then the spirits begged him"
      "Spirits", Plural.
Legion is supposed to be like 5 thousands?
After Baal and Jezebel, what other names can we mention for the other 4,998 unclean spirits?

After I explained their position, I have an entire section titled, “Refutation of Foundational Arguments” where I addressed each of those scriptures. I strongly suggest your question is not sincere. If you had watched the video, you would not have asked me for scripture to support my position. You would have seen it and perhaps challenged it.

@@tmgeske, the gifts of casting out demons has ceased. It was apostolic. Do you have a non-apostolic example? The Spirit still works miracles, but that is not a gift given to men since the completion of the canon. The purpose of those sign gifts were to affirm that those who spoke in the name of Jesus and preached the same message of Jesus had the same power as Jesus. Now that that which is perfect has come (the Word), those gifts have ceased according to 1 Corinthians 13:8-10.

We do not determine doctrine by our experience. We must measure our experience according to scripture. God still does miracles, but he does not give those gifts to men since the canon of scripture is complete. You may have had an experience, but if a man healed you or cast a demon out, it was not of God. I have an Indian friend who is living proof of a true miracle, but it was performed by someone who did it in the name of other gods. How would you explain to him that his very real miracle was not biblical when the idolatrous experience was “real” to him?
