Those tests were not close to as accurate as they are today. The old tests use to conflate Native American with Sephardic and Azkenazi Jewish DNA. 37% NA ancestry would result in a very different phenotypical appearance than what he looks like-even 20% would probably be noticeable

Testing error. Most Jews came here in the late 1800s and early 1900s (not that terribly long ago in other words). There's no way someone as old as that guy could be that much Native American and not know it.
I'd definitely get a more precise test after someone tells me that I'm more than 1/3 Indigenous American and look about 0/3. If it came from a single ancestor, that would mean that one of his parents was ~74% Indigenous. Um, I think it'd be pretty noticeable at that point. And Jews typically in-marry. And like you said, many Jews can trace their lineages back to when their ancestors immigrated from Europe. At most two centuries ago, probably less. At the same time... anything's POSSIBLE. These DNA test are less then .2% of your DNA. And only shows your family lines from your mother's, mother's, etc. line & from your father's, father's, etc. line. To put it in perspective if you are a male, and half African/black on your father's side and half Asian on your mothers side and you had a child with a female who is half African/black from her mothers side and half Asian on her father's side your child's DNA would come up 100% black. That's how inaccurate these tests can be in 1 generation. Imagine how mixed up the results are after 20 generations. You're better off researching you're family tree.
I don't know why DDC hasn't pulled the plug on it because everybody who is aware of this type of testing and is interested in it wants to do updated tests.I don't think very many people in the last year or two have bought this test at all because they know it is outdated

There are a lot of lost families out there since boarding schools, so i am not surprised that there are people out there who do not know their heritage because of it. It's not a stupid thing to know your blood quantum, to learn where you come from and not every one in the world is fortunate to know like you or I. If he truly is, he would go to tribal enrollment and get a test done to identify what band or tribe he comes from through a data bank. If Larry's DNA was tested through a reputable company, rather than this one, and then run through quality calculators like Eurogenes K36, he would show about 2-3% North African, 40-50% West Asian, 50-60% European, 0% Pacific Islander, and between 0-2% Siberian (including Amerindian-related ancestry).

These tests are pretty good. He'd have to take another test like 23andme to see if it matches the one from the Lopez show. But there is a chance. We don't know who entered his family in the past.
I'm not actually a Spaniard, I'm Spanish-American. I was born in the U.S., but my family came here from Spain. I've been to Spain 21 times, so I'm pretty much familiar with it. I have relatives living there now. Anyway, Jews came before that time, so there is no guarantee that his family came at that time. Jews were present in the U.S. early on also. Germans were emigrating to the U.S. early on, and German Jews came also. But like I said, you don't know who entered his family.

Got my family's results from DNA Tribes yesterday... I thought we were the standard European mix-- German/Irish etc. from the Midwest. Paternal line of the family has been in the U.S. since at least the 1700's. How about the first two results were Mestizo and then Andean (from the Andes Mountains). But zero matches with North American native tribes. Wild!

The reason for Larry David's 37% Indigenous American is that he is an Ashkenazi Jew and many of his ancestors probably came from Central Asia. standard procedure in these cases is to send the tests to two or three different testers to get more accurate results. I mean 37% would imply his mother or father were almost completely natives which clearly aren't if you've seen their pictures

Testing error. Most Jews came here in the late 1800s and early 1900s (not that terribly long ago in other words). There's no way someone as old as that guy could be that much Native American and not know it.
I'd definitely get a more precise test after someone tells me that I'm more than 1/3 Indigenous American and look about 0/3. If it came from a single ancestor, that would mean that one of his parents was ~74% Indigenous. Um, I think it'd be pretty noticeable at that point. And Jews typically in-marry. And like you said, many Jews can trace their lineages back to when their ancestors immigrated from Europe. At most two centuries ago, probably less. At the same time... anything's POSSIBLE. Highly unlikely, though.

Some burials from a Peat Bog in Florida dated to 7,000 years ago all tested as European in origin, as have some in NE USA and Canada. There have been ancient remains found in western USA with completely European bone structure and red hair, that were not allowed to be tested, because some do not want to spoil their narrative of one migration story.
The story of human history is much more complex than most acknowledge, or for some reason want to accept. Oh, primarily it is because most people are racists, who want to identify with a group that they feel is superior in some way, and do not want anything to do with others.

I just want to say that anyone who understands Genetics knows it's not so cut and dry. it doesn't say congrats you are white or you are not white. it matches your DNA with people around the world and sees where the highest matches are located. now I noticed that Middle east was not an option, so I gather that any DNA that doesn't fit in the black or white or East-asian(NOTE: that Native American is sometimes classified as East Asian,due to marginal errors, and the Genetic closeness of east Asians and Native Americans, which is why George Lopez has a large percentage of east Asian genes in his test results, given that he has no known Asian ancestry ) category would be classified as Native American. I also know that Jewish DNA is predominantly middle eastern and not European. Ashkenazi Jews which are the white Jews from Eastern Europe, are on average about 20-25% middle eastern, and 18-20% African sometimes Sub-Saharan, and sometimes North African. Jews actually have there own genetic testing because of this. when Jews use regular testing they get inaccurate results filled with marginal errors.

These DNA test are less then .2% of your DNA. And only shows your family lines from your mother's, mother's, etc. line & from your father's, father's, etc. line. To put it in perspective if you are a male, and half African/black on your father's side and half Asian on your mothers side and you had a child with a female who is half African/black from her mothers side and half Asian on her father's side your child's DNA would come up 100% black. That's how inaccurate these tests can be in 1 generation. Imagine how mixed up the results are after 20 generations. You're better off researching you're family tree.

These tests are pretty good. He'd have to take another test like 23andme to see if it matches the one from the Lopez show. But there is a chance. We don't know who entered his family in the past.
I'm not actually a Spaniard, I'm Spanish-American. I was born in the U.S., but my family came here from Spain. I've been to Spain 21 times, so I'm pretty much familiar with it. I have relatives living there now. Anyway, Jews came before that time, so there is no guarantee that his family came at that time. Jews were present in the U.S. early on also. Germans were emigrating to the U.S. early on, and German Jews came also. But like I said, you don't know who entered his family.

Got my family's results from DNA Tribes yesterday... I thought we were the standard European mix-- German/Irish etc. from the Midwest. Paternal line of the family has been in the U.S. since at least the 1700's.
How about the first two results were Mestizo and then Andean (from the Andes Mountains). But zero matches with North American native tribes. Wild!

standard procedure in these cases is to send the tests to two or three different testers to get more accurate results. I mean 37% would imply his mother or father were almost completely natives which clearly aren't if you've seen their pictures

Genetic testing has nothing to do with skeletal structure per se, and all humans are 99.9% genetically the same. “Race” is a socially constructed concept; location doesn’t equal “race” because humans have been highly mobile for hundreds of thousands of years. Those tests use autosomal DNA only, which only indicates location up to approximately 500-700 years ago. Each company tests a different sampling of a person’s genome, and compares them with a relatively small sampling of DNA from *modern* populations whose ancestors have lived in a certain place for a few generations. This “test” took place early in the development of consumer-based testing, before the companies realized they couldn’t differentiate Native American from East Asian groups reliably. More likely, he is part West Asian, aka Middle Eastern, and/or Central Asian. Also, there is no “Jewish gene.” DNA test results defining someone as Jewish are automatically bogus. Ethnicity “tests” also fail to account for migration, adoption, etc., especially if these or similar events occurred over 500 years ago. (Y-DNA and mitochondrial testing tend to show very ancient locational origins, but strictly for one line of inheritance only, among thousands of ancestral lines. Interesting, but only minimally meaningful or useful.) The tests weren’t developed to reveal ethnicity, because ethnicity is not inherited; it is socio-cultural. It’s not carried in the blood.

Speaking on behalf of Spaniards I could tell you that referring to Spain means white. We are Hispanic, but White. Because we are not black, native american, east Indian or Asian. So that only leaves one option. WHITE Spain pertains to Europe, not Latin America. So just because we speak Spanish does not mean we're not white.
