I Bought TWO Tokyo Drift Arcade Games For The Price Of ONE *Building The Shop Arcade*

- The shop build continues! After we get the balcony stood up and start building out the Motul lounge, an arcade will go upstairs beside the couches. I bought a Sega Super Hang On in December and today one of the other must-have machines popped up for sale way cheaper than they ever go for. I messaged the seller immediately and told him I'd be right over to pick up TWO Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift sit down arcades. Now I only need Time Crisis 4 and a pinball to complete the arcade. This place is going to be absolutely insane!

I left one day too early.
Can’t wait to see the new Mercedes you bought from hoovie :)
Must be cool to have met Mr. Wizard tho! Shout out CACW!
Please DON'T LCD swap that Super Hang On! I fix arcade machines as a hobby and in my opinion there's nothing worse than an LCD swap on old games. On "recent" (enough) games like Tokyo Drift, I understand it, the game's video is coming out of a PC anyway (those Optiplexes were in a ton of Raw Thrills games of that period)... But on older games? No no no! I can't count how many old Dance Dance Revolution machines I've seen that were unplayable because of an LCD swap... (timing issues) On something as old as Hang On it will not look right. If I wasn't an ocean away from you I'd take a look at that Hang On :) You got an awesome deal on it! I'm sure you can find someone to fix the CRT in it (if that's its problem)... Also dont throw the Tokyo Drift CRT, arcade collectors will buy it from you.
To add to this
Use Acronis or something and clone those tokyo drift drives, better safe than sorry. You know tech, you know how old those drives are and they probably have a ton of powered on hours on them already
Swapping out the CRT on a Super Hang On is nothing short or criminal... please don't :)
Also, just pick the lock... those locks are shite! .... lol
@@DongleSama I could be wrong but it looked like there was a back-up disk taped to the bottom at 4:37 - still a good idea to do a clone though. Something will inevitably go wrong, just hopefully not for a long while..
@@DongleSama That was the recovery disk taped in the bottom of the game. They knew the Hard Drive will fail so they made it easy to reinstall. When the dive fails, you replace it, put the disk in the DVD drive and it takes care of everything else. It's not worth the hassle to clone the drive when you have the recover DVD.
Like what is this wharehouse even for?? I'm starting to get the feeling it's just going to be one giant man cave.
That’s all it is! 💯
@@WatchJRGo 😆😆😅 Hell yeeaahh
i feel the same way.
Waste of a channel
@@WatchJRGo JR, guess what I drove and worked on today at our shop. A Camaro ZL1 Hennessy Exorcist 1,000 HP Beast. A chick actually brought to the shop. Everybody was afraid to drive it except me. race clutch scared them. What a BEAST
Apparently it is the same car photoed and scanned for some popular video game.
The arcade machines were a lot more fun than the halftime show.
Big facts! Can't wait to waste more time playing those!
Without a doubt!
Even my 98 year old Mother said the same thing about the Halftime. It was the worst.
You speak the truth
The machine's would have been better than the whole game I didn't watch, because it is as stupid as the news and telie vision.
Call it the Go Garage....
Fun fact: The Japanese writing on the side of the arcade machines says "Fast and Furious". However, It's not called that in Japan. It's actually called "Wild Speed". Also, the big Chinese character on the side says "run".
Fun fact: that kanji is Japanese, too. Which in Japanese is read "hashire."
@@theannoyedmrfloyd3998 yeah. Ik it's Kanji, but nobody, except for those that know a little japanese, calls it Kanji. I thought it was just "hashi", but I've only studied for a couple of years while in Japan.
That Clark forklift has paid for itself by now. What a Godsend.
Hahaha saw you at the stop light on 63rd and rock. Told my wife ... yup that’s John Ross and he has having fun hahaha.
As a 25+ year arcade tech, I will tell you that you will need to carefully remove the computers and make sure the CPU heatsinks are free of dust. They will lock up if they get too hot and I have yet to see one that wasn't so full of dust that the fins were totally blocked. DO NOT LOSE OR DAMAGE THE PARALLEL PORT DONGLE! (should have FF on a green sticker.) That is the security key and the game will not run without it. While you are in the computer, make sure the computer boards are in good shape. Dells of that era had a problem with bad capacitors. It would be a good idea to find a couple spare computer motherboards for the Dell 740 before they all vanish. The game code was written for that computer so it's not a simple or easy thing to try and use a different model of computer. The Hard Drive will fail at some point, but the recovery DVD is inside the back. The HDD is just a SATA drive, so you just need a new one of the same or bigger size. If you change the hard drive out for an SSD, do both machines at the same time. A SSD will load faster and can mess up the link timing if only one has a SSD.
You will find the volume controls and test switch in the top coin door.
When you pull the CRTs, do not throw them away. Arcade collectors want them. Collectors hate LCDs. An LCD lowers the collector value of an arcade game. A CRT with as nice of a picture I saw in this will pull in $100-200, maybe more. When you pull the CRT, do yourself a favor and leave the class CRT in the metal frame. It is much easier and safer to take it out with the frame (you wont have to try and remove the flyback wire that has a 10,000-20,000 volt charge in it even when there is no power.) You remove the monitor from the front of the game.
Oh yeah, the lock you don't have a key for, just get a screw driver and pry under the security bar. The lock cam is a soft metal that will bend back as you pry the door open. You can also just drill the lock out with a 3/8" or bigger drill bit. Just go right down the middle of the tumblers. You will NOT be able to get into the cash box from the top or back. You have to go in through the door itself. That was done to make it hard to get to the money.
This guy has deep pockets , livin's easy
All you need now is House of the Dead, F335 Challenge, Outrun and Afterburner and youre ready to go
Dude needs Spy Hunter. Go classic.
WatchJRGo: *hits blunt* “You ever wonder what it would be like to fix cars in a nightclub/arcade?”
😂😂😂
underrated comment
definitely a high idea but with all that space the ideas are near limitless
He fixes cars?
8:39 "This is hard with one hand." That's what she said.
It’s really cool to see your IT knowledge with all of these projects. There’s definitely a huge overlap between car guys and computer guys!
It's pretty amazing. He's able to connect the two worlds between IT and automobiles. Some of that goes hand in hand for sure. Is... there... anything...this guy can't do?
I loved playing those back in the day, they were so fun
Anyone ever tell you that you’re having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have? :-p
Like in that movie Big. Tom Hank's character gets himself an apartment and packs it with arcade games and a trampoline.
NO GUILT COMPLEXES ALLOWED
Call it the Speed Sanctuary!!!
I think your on the right track with the name
Or the Sanctuary of Speed...
These arcade games are awesome . Reminiscent to the late 90s and early 2000s.
" Lock Picking Lawyer "
ON TODAY EPISODE OF WATCHJRGO, We going to cut some locks
After watching him for such a long time, I would bet there is a 70% chance that lock could be raked open lol
I love that you're enjoying this! Congrats! You're living the dream
So weird I have not but 2 hours ago watched Toyko Drift and then you get these! What are the odds! :D Awesome! That super Hang-On is sick! One of my favourite games of all time!
The google overlords knows you were watching Tokyo drift. They told jrgo to get those arcade sets.
@@nathanlewis5682 My thoughts exactly! :D
What a fun video. Please show us the upstairs once you have the arcade/lounge ready to go. I can't wait for you to restore the Super Hang On game. I used to play the stand alone and sit down versions. Tokyo Drift looks awesome. I can't wait for you to put an LCD in the second one.
Better image those hard drives just incase! Neat they just have dell computers in them
I think you need a fighting game, too. Maybe Killer Instinct or MK II.
Arcade 1 up killer instinct comes out soon
Or The Simpsons arcade!
I would 100% be down for watching a dedicated Watchjrgo tech/resto channel
Yes I’m loving this! Peace from Canada man ✌🏽👍🏽
Great find. This will be an amazing place to be. It is like being a kid again.
"GO Factory" *WatchJRGo* Do it
This brings back tons of nostalgia as a 2000s kid
I’m pulling for “Prestige Worldwide” for the building name! 😂🤣
Stepbrothers was the best!
@@amarchhabra2175 Well, it is the first word in entertainment...

Cars 'N Bros
Epic
"The Go Place " it's the place where you always want to go 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Heck yeah! Time Crises!!!
I've been watching for some time. Kinda seen this coming, love your show! I'm going to keep watching you succeed.
All I hear is “Donkey Kong” in that dudes really country accent 😂😂
I should have known JR had a killer plan. The Fantasy Factory concept sounds awesome. Can't wait to see how cars, arcades, dance club, cool venue, and whatever else comes together. It should be epic.
Brass poles? heh.
@@edwil111 If we start to see poles and crystal heel shoes lying around in there, we should start to worry.
"The Content Factory"!
Fantasy factory was awesome
JR's GO FACTORY! You have to get a Williams FunHouse pinball machine. Best pinball game ever!!!!
Dangggg man this truly is going to be the best dang garage out there!!
You need to get a deluxe outrun for your collection. The one that moves! Those games weigh about 400lbs each. Sadly I have moved hundreds of them in my day as I used to own and operate an arcade. What pinball machine are you wanting? I know a guy with a few for sale. Shipping on them isn't that bad. That version of the Super Hang On is pretty rare. As far as the coin door lock just drill it straight through and you will not damage anything. As far as the screen goes just take the chassis off of the monitor after its discharged and pay your local tv repair guy to recap it if you don't want to do it yourself. Cap kit is like $12. It is probably a Wells Gardner monitor in it. Im guessing a 4600 or 4700. Might possibly even be a GO7. Pretty common stuff.
I smell a gaming PC upgrade to these bad boys!
Go garage or garage go sound good to me! Loving the garage build!! Awesome work. Oh and definitely show the arcade conversion and motorcycle game fix, sounds like it'd be an awesome vid!!
Time Crisis also my favorite. I think every Arcade has Time Crisis.
Sega After Burner the large one with the cockpit would make an killer edition to your game room.
That game is really cool but hard to play, so much going on ✈️
I'm glad your having fun.
I’d love to see you restore and update these games grew up with them and see them on this channel
I thought I was watching a car repair channel, but it's jumped the shark
Yeah, really went turned into pee wees funhouse. Back to diagnose Dan's channel and pine hill auto where they are doing real work
The Tokyo drift cabs are Awesome
Get a 3 monitor Sega F355 Challenge !! It's awesome! I collect arcade games and pinball machines and jukeboxes...So fun!
And we get Alex from Legit Streetcars...even better
THE ROSS SHOP
Flows off the tongue, even if it doesn't rhyme.
The machines say "Fast and Furious" ( ファースト アンド フュリアス ) in Katakana.Weird because in Japan, the movie franchise is called "Wild Speed" ( ワイルドスピード ). So your machines aren't JDM, lol
Dude, Super Hang-On! I love that game! There was a cab, in a local arcade, back in the late '90s! Still play it on the Genesis from time to time!
I finally broke down and got a Pi 4 after seeing that they finally made a version of RetroPie that's optimized for it and what a difference! It does still struggle somewhat on N64 games but that's an issue with the emulator and since the Pi 4 is still new I'm sure they will have it working great soon. I do suggest getting a variety of controllers for each console type though because no matter what you do an Xbox controller sometimes has a hiccup with side scrolling NES and SNES games and playing Atari 2600 games without the classic Atari joystick just doesn't feel the same.
I just thought I was jealous of the shop before this episode! Nice!
The fun factory. U have arcades. Cars the lights an awesome building😍
You had me at Time Crisis 😂😂😂😂
Toys for big boys. Very nice. Btw you should get a machine with a bunch of the classics on it like Pacman, Galaxian, Digdug, etc.
That game must be based on the cruis'n exotica engine. I recognized the flips and stuff.
Those are so dope
So much fun to be had!
Builds a warehouse on his channel and is worried about a video game rebuild not being car related...... Just send it!!
I was surprised to find out while back that a lot of arcade games during a certain period were just windows PC .exe files (not to be confused with ROMS.) I guess the arcade industry just needed a short cut at some point to lower costs rather than building brand new hardware.
PCs had gotten to the point that they had as much power as the arcade boards. There was no reason to build their own boards anymore when someone else can do the hard work and make them cheaper. This creates a new problem for these games because the software is written for the computer they used and it's very difficult to use a new computer. I have spare computer motherboards for all the computer based arcade games I have just so I know I'll be able to fix them in the future.
When can we expect a basketball hoop and foam pit lol
Great video. Of course Jared is there to provide the muscle beef to move stuff. Always good to see you make an appearance J.
I’d totally watch a man cave/arcade repair channel!!!
I’d replace those CRTs for longevity
Awesome man. If you ever need help with repair or technical assistance on these games, let me know. I have spare monitors, parts, and pretty much anything else you'd need. If you are going to LCD the second Drift machine, I'll gladly take the CRT off your hands. And I wouldn't LCD swap the Hang-On. I can repair the monitor, rejuvenate it, and make it brand new again, or I've got 15 other rebuilt and bulletproofed ones that I can swap in there for you. Been working on and repairing monitors and machines for 16 years. Your call of course, just letting you know. I think you'd regret LCD'ing it because of the angle and the curved shell. You'll have a massive gap on each side unless you fab closeouts of some kind, and you'd need a 100% viewing angle LCD based on the angle it sits at. I'm betting your power supply in the Hang-On is bad because you should hear the game running at a minimum even with the monitor not working. Any help you want or need, let me know.
Fun time factory!
Wow, the warehouse has massively changed😳
Also.. WOW! The Viper Truck looks AMAZING!
Gotta find a triple monitor F355 challenge game! Best arcade game of all time!
I'm pretty sure that the Hang On arcade machine uses a low resolution 15KHz arcade monitor. I don't think it's going to be easy to LCD swap. As long as the tube isn't broken, you can probably rebuild the CRT. They're not that complicated. There's places online that sell cap kits and replacement parts (flyback, etc...). The hardest part will be figuring out exactly which monitor model is in it.
That's my favorite game of all time because it has the RX-7, I'm old and I've owned a couple of them back in the day.
DUDE! That srt10 is beautiful! They did a AMAZING job! Wow. Props to the detail crew at watchjrgo factory aka hi power garage, or pedal to the floor and more factory, I don’t know, you should make a community post where ppl can put ideas down for a name and whoever’s gets picked gets a couple hundred bucks or something ?? Right right??
Wish I lived near the JRGoShop. Love the channel and could definitely use some help with my vehicles!
JR you are an absolute vision
So many memories
I love to see the restoration of the games, considering the last 20 videos were about a warehouse lol, we just like seeing things get fixed.
JR, don’t scrap the CRT’s. A lot of people who restore arcade machines still use them.
TAMPA BAY!!!!!!!!!
Frick I wish those were setup this past weekend 🤣
looking like a great setup
That tailgate needs some paint so that it matches the truck, It looks worse now that the whole truck is clean. Hope you sell that thing, and I will be glad when you get back to the usual car vids. I have kept watching video's I am not interested in to support your channel. I don't give a crap about the garage, it is the content, and how you did it that I like. God bless, and good luck.
We love you jr!!!
Pretty sweet! I found a Sega Monaco GP Arcade last year for 60 dollars on offerup and a wonder wizard demolition derby pinball game at an antique shop for 50 dollars. I have a mini game room now. Not as cool as yours but theyre still fun. Great video as always.
This is going to be the best and biggest man cave!
The Viper truck is looking damn good, wow it is beautiful now.
JR will set a brand-new standard for mechanic shops with these arcade machines! If more mechanic shops had these, it would save the kids from being bored while they wait with their parents to get their cars back! 😂
I think your dollar BMW has been in more videos than your R8.
Obviously, this place is your dream build so...
The Dream Factory.
For the pinball machine: get White Water (Williams, 1993). It's the best.
OMG! i seen the other arcade (hang on) in the BG of your video. I have 26 arcades, half of which are drivers.
plz don't LCD swap the older hang-on, consider repairing the CRT (if the tube is still good) - Contact Chad at ArcadeCup
Should do a col-lab with Lockpicking Lawyer on the Super Hang on, he’d probably be inside it faster than it took you to cut the padlock off.
“On today’s watchJRgo, we have a nice click out of one and two... is binding!” *cue the intro music*
I could have it open with 2 screw drivers in under 10 seconds. I got good at it because my employees kept breaking the keys.
"WatchJRGO's Super duper awesome fun time automotive shop" but translated into Japanese
Gotta get the X-Wing Star Wars arcade game too!
I guarantee that lock could be picked in a matter of seconds. Once you start playing with a pick set, it's incredible how little security most locks offer.
Here's my name suggestion: The Go Factory.
JR, watching you cut that padlock with one hand on it and the other on the grinder. You got me stressed for your hand!
Every now and then I peep for the Initial D early stage arcades. Would love to have one at my house.
If I were you I would figure out a way to clone the HDD inside, just in case. You never know when a HDD is going to fail. And it's probably going to be a PITA to figure out how to resurrect the machine if you loose the data. BTW I spent way too much time on these machines when I was a kid. Sweet find.
Edit: Whelp I just saw the CD sitting at the bottom of the cabinet. So... yeah never mind. I'd still clone the drive and the CD. The CD will probably start bit rotting. BTW Double tap the gas a bunch, you are welcome.
Sweet!
