  • Last month we shared news of multiple baby birds that are recovering from injury at the Paul C. Kupchok Wildlife Center. We’re delighted to report that three Great Horned owlets that had been rehabbing at Green Chimneys for months were officially released to the wild last week. With time and good care, the owlets shed their baby feathers, received ample flying practice, and ultimately showed signs of strength. And so on a summer evening at dusk, and down the road at Boni-Bel Farm & Country Store, the trio took flight.
Thank you to all those who continue to support wildlife rehabilitation at Green Chimneys. Through these experiences, children with special needs are learning about second chances, proper animal care, and how to be a steward of the environment.
