It is really hard thing to tone down when you speak language that has real hard trill in R, especially the dialect I speak. To me Korean and Chinese are ridiclously hard to pronaunce. I still cant say Xiaojuns name :D and when I first read it and then heard how it was said, well lets say the way I thought it was pronaunced was so far off it sound nothing like his name.

first of all thank you so much for subbing!! second of all the rolling of Rs... i was crap at this when i was a kid and the way they taught me is essentially you know when you make an L sound the tip your tongue is leaning on the top palate right behind your front teeth and the back sides of ur tongue are only sort of touching your top teeth. for rolled R you want to have the back sides of your tongue essentially braced against your back teeth and the tip of your tongue should be just slightly touching the top of your palate a little further up than for an L sound. the fact that your tongue is braced in the back and then only very slightly in the front is what allows it to vibrate against the top palate when you make a long rrrrrrr sound. also it's easier to do in the beginning if you're whispering, i have no idea why. this has been an essay no one really needed but maybe it could help?
