I was about to scream "Where is 'Now and Then'?" but then I found your other video on RUclips!!! Amazingly enough, both the Beatles and the Stones released new singles in the latter part of 2023!! Are we back in '69 again? Probably!!! The CD single was a master 'format' in the sense you could squeeze as much music as you wanted on it and still call it a 'single'. Probably an evolution of the 12" single of the '80s. Many, many artists in the '90s took advantage of this great format and put lots of rarities on their CD singles. The one that introduced me to the craze was Paul's "Hope Of Deliverance" and its 3 non-album tracks. Since then, I have amassed quite a lot of them, and have 'devoured' their extra material. Another favourite group of mine, Roxette, put all kinds of rarities on their CD singles (b' sides, interview snippets, remixes, demos, acoustic versions, edited versions of singles and of course live tracks!). Long Live this great format!!
Funny you should mention Macca and Roxette, love them both. Hope of Deliverance is my favoute Macca song!! Didn't mention NOW AND THEN because I bought the cardboard 2track, so not a "maxi" :)
The only ones I acquired over the last years were Now and Then by the Beatles (shm-cd-single) and the Sweet Sounds of Heaven (shm-maxi-cd) from the Rolling Stones feat. Lady Gaga. Not a maxi, but 2 EP's from the Belgian singer Iliona were also released on cd. At least one of them is around 30 min playing time, and could also be considered as an album. Both EP's have some good songs (including the popular singles Moins Joli and Une Autre Vie - nice musicvideo btw). I just bought the Fabiana Palladino album, Pino's daughter. Overall a decent album. Not a fan of Ed 😂
Have never heard of Iliona! 30 mins is indeed an album, haha. I think the Dutch charts classify everything >25min as an album, that's why Lois Lane charted with 4 songs (26min) in 1989. Had no idea Pino's daughter was musically active. Not a connoisseur of Ed Sheeran, but I really like 'Castle in the Hill'. Great lyrics, too. Very personal, it seems.

Herinner je bijvoorbeeld "Wake Me Up!" van Avicii: ten tijde van de release had Ultratop dat online gezet met als uitvoerder Avicii featuring Aloe Blacc. Ze kregen al snel een woedende mail van Universal met het bevel om Aloe te verwijderen. Lees: we mochten wel weten dat hij het nummer had meegeschreven, maar niet dat hij het zong ...
I don't have any single except for the Imperial March by John Williams shaped like the Imperial Emblem. What a waste of a mini CD, one song,lol. I haven't bought any new CDs lately, i did want the INDY set but as a Disney exclusive five film set for 150 dollars they can keep it. Absurd price. I'm afraid to find out what the price for the 5 film vinyl set is, I'll just import Crystal Skull.
@@JulianDeBacker , i'm not surprised since its limited to Disney Music Emporium in US only, Disney are mad to not do a wide release. The vinyl release is also 300 dollars I can't afford that what is their problem. I can't afford the CD or Vinyl set. Just going to get Skull for 40 bucks and call it a day. It's not worth that for a few posters and a box should be half that price.
