Equipment:
Ragnarok (get it from Cloud 105 in Quick Battle)
Seydlitz (get it from anybody who has it in Inward Chaos)
Grand Helm (get it from anybody who has it in Inward Chaos)
Brigandine (get it from anybody who has it in Inward Chaos)
Accessories:
Pearl Necklace
Ivory Choker
Gold Hourglass
Fought Chaos with 3 accessory slots, no summons & with average Lv 99 equips, this is because there's no more Gilgamesh & FuSoYa friend cards to farm the best gears & accessories. And the best exclusive weapons for each characters cannot be farmed from their Inward Chaos battles, but you can get the second to the best exclusive weapons (ex: in the JP release you can get Squall's best weapon the Lionheart when you fight him, but in the NA release you can only get Punishment)
i think he's overall difficulty has not changed from the JP release based on my observation, but fighting Chaos varies per character. (if you've played SNK games with the SNK Boss Syndrome you'll surely be able to finish this one)

You're awesome. Returned to this game after a break... I have Cloud's Fenrir sword, I have the Adamant Vest... Cloud is at level 100 on my file... and I'm still having difficulty with taking down Level 110 Chaos's first battle! I got past it once tonight, but immediately got slammed into a Game Over on battle number 2. My pride still hurts!
good job dude, i used just about the same tactics as you to beat him, except i spammed omnislash v.5 after blocking his swing bravery attacks and blocked or evaded and attacked again when vulnerable. even though i had Magic Pot ready, i didn't use it. FTW :D

If you have issue with him, dont hesitate to use Incenses and Resins. They wont break until the end of form 3, and can really make him easier. 2 Valor incenses and a valor resin starts you off at 5x normal bravery. 2 destruction incenses and a resin gives you +16 atk. I can usually break him in 2 BRV attacks even without these. And use the Heike's set, EX is a very nice tool for him if you're not good at avoiding his moves. You can guard in the middle of his combos, and counter with an EX burst.
I finally finished Inward Chaos.....It was crazy, wish i could save the replay. Thanks for your help.

In options you can choose if you want the voices in english or japanese, i think
why wouldn't you want it to turn gold?.......but they did forget to change the gauge on the Duel Colosseum menu and the Story Mode grid. When I first started playing, I didn't know if it was empty or full.
@123waynemark you have to master slashing blow and then activate omnislash v5 in the customization menu

@InwardChaos93 dude im with u i was fighting him 4 a long time now but not as long as u have.... 2 hour wasted this morning fighting him and i keep dying at the 3rd round -__- mann but this video helped me alot though the best thing to do is to stay in the air then wait to he rushes towards u then do nothing but midair combos *the thing is everytime u hit him he keeps coming back :3 so that always a gud idea

Was there really any reason for changing the fully charged ex gauge from purple to orange-ish?
@BlackStar657 actually what you have to do is go up, then block the little balls and dodge the big one
you can do it with any character
the only true undodgable attack in the game is emperor's starfall and in duodecim not even that one thanks to assists

@CTangelz32 You need to master the BRV attack Slashing Blow to obtain Omnislash Version 5.

@Gigasmasher Meh, practice, practice and practice! When I did Inward Chaos the first time it wasn't so because I had been practicing against Chaos 1045 in quick battle a lot so I could read most of his moves and how to avoid them :)

This dude is freakin impossible to beat!!!! I battled him the first time as Squall lvl 62 and he was lvl 45 so I thought that I could beat him in my sleep. Then he freaking destroyed me in 5 seconds flat!!!!! It's insane!!!

That is realy hard, you have to play ageinst him insainly many times and try to dodge it. In other words practise and timing. A little luck could help to. (but not the "luck" status in the game)
@metalwar11 what you have to look for are those white balls around the player that turn into swords. the rest just stay still and the fire wont hit you

Ok, I've been fighting Chaos in this stage for the past TWO MONTHS. I kid you not, I've lost to this asshole for two straight months. I know all there is to know about his attacks, health, accessories and such, but I STILL can't beat this... CREATURE! How the hell am I supposed to do this???!!!

You still have to fight him again? It took me a lot of tries to beat Chaos...I even cried when beated him..because of all the retries I had to do...(While I was crying my dad was like 'Wtf?'

well.just practice,memorize the timing and the sounds and u should be able to dodge it,i can dodge but i got caught sometimes,and to avoid the damage,i enter in EX mode in teh right time...

@InwardChaos93 easy train cloud to lvl 100 and up his bravery as much as you can (get more accesory slots) and spam braver, though u may want to practise dodging though cuz if you arent careful chaos will pound the crap out of you
I think the US version is harder than the japanese dissidia. It does remind me the Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo & SSF2X. The turbo version (US)
its hard even in "Easiest" level, I dont know why the usa versions of a lot of games always are tougher than others.

It's very very very easy for me to kill Chaos with Cloud. xDDD
And I can do it very fast. I may not do much dmg to him, but I can stay in EX-Mode all the time, and since Cloud breaks every defence while in EX-Mode.....
First phase was flawless then he got me in the 2nd phase with Demonsdance like in 2:26 except i wasn't so lucky >:(.........a little more practice and i got it down.
