Carr has been on some pretty stacked offenses. The Raiders went out and got him the best WR in the NFL last year, and he got worse. The reason people harp on the Saints cap is cause we literally just made it ceiling to barely win a bad division and get stomped in the wildcard round. Our coach has a 15-38 record, and the oldest roster in the league last year, just got a bit older on defense. Sean Payton managed a 9-8 season with all the injuries in his last year. I agree with everything you said about Derek Carr and the Saints... but don't you think all of that also applies to Baker Mayfield and the Bucs? As you pointed out, there's almost zero chance Baker leads TB to a SB this year. Which by my definition means signing Baker to be your QB most certainly is NOT a good move.

I partially disagree with your “Saints won’t make noise beyond the wildcard round” take. The saint’s coaching staff definitely have to prove themselves this year, but I think the saints have a decent chance to make a run in such a weak NFC. Carr may not be an elite “carry your team” type qb but the saints know that. That’s why we signed Jamal Williams, why we did our damndest to keep Juwan Johnson, and why our GM said that they’ll be targeting a legit possession WR even after re-signing Thomas on a “prove it” deal. I consider Carr to be in that Cousins/Stafford tier of qb, they’ll make some mistakes but they’ll have some elite moments too. Kirk was amazing this past season and Stafford got a damn SB the season before, their teams surrounded them with talent and they flourished. Carr wasn’t a complete victim last year, but the man can still make some big time throws when you need him to. He’s coming to a team with a potentially better O-line, and a better defense. I didn’t like how the saints rushing defense performed last year but they still managed to finish close to top-10 in overall defense. As long as the saints front office continues to strengthen the offense and address the defensive holes, I think we have a QB that could help us win a few playoff games.

You need to do a little more research on Carr there bro. Saints will make the play offs this year. Then we can see what Carr can do with out the worst defense last 5 years combined. Raider Defense has allowed 200+ more points than the 31st ranked defense in that 5 year time frame. Who is going to win in that situation. Since 2015 who has the most 4th quarter comebacks? Carr with 23. Most game winning drives since 2015 Carr with 32. You can only be the leader in these stats if you are loosing in the 4th quarter and have to play catch up because your defense sucks ass consistently.

As a giants fan we know we're a team of the next 3 years not this year. I feel waller is a test to see if Jones can deliver if he has weapons. I don't think any of us expect him to be Travis K all year.
The biggest problem with the Giants is at QB. We just saw what was far & away Jones' Best Season; another QB who has never played as bad as him & is considered washed up yet out-ran & out-TD'd him: Lamar Jackson. & he did this playing *four fewer games* while on a team so badly-managed, they literally paid an OC to take receivers out of plays several times a game ruclips.net/video/HkNpZxq80N4/видео.html, likely just to decrease Lamar's value. So Jackson's worst seasons are better than Jones' best. You're already over-paying for the position. I am _praying that_ the Giants say 'screw it' to the collusion against Jackson & just trade for him & steamroll over the NFC, & I don't even _like_ the Giants. I just want to see Lamar play under a coach & team that plays to win.
@@Huyytfbjud We *already know* that he can't. ruclips.net/video/bWtOhyyv7ak/видео.html is made by a Giants fan who didn't want to see what the footage shows, but couldn't deny it. While I'm already believing this was Daboll's doing telling Jones to stop thinking of running as a last resort, there's no _reason to_ run. He *has open receivers.* So while it was great to do in the short run, he may have done a disservice to the Giants in the long-term. Jones is simply low-end as a #1 starting QB, & that's at his best. As I said in my other reply here, I hope there's a trade looming. If they get Lamar, who in the NFC will be _near_ the Giants?
I like the Baker Mayfield signing in Tampa. I think he'll do good if the receivers stay healthy. They also need to establish a run game. Derrick Carr?? I agree with average. Waller? I'm not a big fan. Everyone is all about this guy for a few years now and I don't see anything. I tried to like him but he's never given me many points in fanduel the last couple years. Wow. Orlando to Cincinnati is great. They need an offensive line bad. He's better than most out there. Philly keeping there corners is scary. Their already an awesome team.
As much as I love my saints. We are getting older and not younger. Sooner or later the reset button needs to happen. Loving the moves so far though since all of them are cheap. Carr’s cap hit this year is only 7 Mil and 10 Mil next year. 14-15 Mil in his 3rd year which he can be cut or restructured maybe. But cheap role players Khalen Saunders, Nathan Shepard, and Jamaal Williams should help a lot. They all produced better than some of our starters last year in a rotational situation. At this point if Carr fails with the returning weapons we have and the defense. Then idk what to say anymore. He finally has some help especially defensively, so as long as he can just sling it and play smart. We can go far. NFC South is still open as well.
Fully agree the Carr deal is a head scratcher. It’s almost certainly to help Dennis Allen keep his job. Although he should be on his way out if the team is not semi deep in the playoffs. Then we are stuck w Carr and his contract and his INT s...
A healthy Baker Mayfield is gotta be an upgrade over a broken down Tom Brady Maybe not by much but in this division he's already the best and yes I'm talking about you Derek Carr 🤨
Carr wasn’t the problem in Vegas last year. McFraud was! Take away his 6-0 start with Denver (for obvious reasons) and this sorry excuse of a coach is sub .300.
He was benched because he would have gotten millions guaranteed if he got injured he’s SLIGHTY ABOVE AVERAGE better than Kirk cousins WHO I CONSIDER THE DEFINITIVE MID LEVEL QUARTERback he’s more consistent than dak but not as good and who I have slightly above carr because dak ain’t that good either 😂😂😂
Waller can't stay healthy and is way past his prime. Giants trade is completely overrated and I would be shocked if Giants are in the 'yoffs this upcoming season.
Saints fans more than anyone should understand that a bad defense doesn't necessarily break your QB. Drew Brees threw for 5177 yds, 43 TDs in 2012. Derek Carr is sus.
Saints fans should also understand how a bad coach and a bad defense can affect wins and losses. Josh McDaniels was just recently voted the worst coach in team history, and he's repeating his mistakes in LV. Carr threw for 4,800 yards in 2021, was the 5th most accurate passer in the league, and helped carry that 26th ranked defense to the playoffs nearly beating the Bengals. Then, the next year, McDaniels comes in, signs Davante Adams, and doesn't play Adams, Waller, Renfrow, or Carr at all in the preseason (Jacobs had 5 carries) despite having a notoriously difficult offense to understand. That is very sus.
In the playoffs anything can happen… yes 6 seed Steelers and Packers teams have won it all, but were led by HOF QBs, not Baker Mayfield or Derek Carr 😜 Another year of the NFC south motto “somebody’s gotta win it” with a “dream team” of starting QB’s: Dalton(so Stroud/Richardson can develop), Carr, Mayfield and Ridder(or whoever ATL drafts and ruins their career by throwing them to the wolves).
@Skye Horvath. Carr won nothing??? That just proves that a person's age has nothing to do with the ability to understand the game. If you've been watching that long and think that Carr was holding the team back, then I'm not sure what to say. 🤷 I've been a fan since the 70s and will be until I die. Until they figure defense, we're not going to be successful.
As a Giants fan, I can only hope the trade with the Raiders gives Danny Dimes some weapons. He’s not Josh Allen and has been asked to carry the offense on his back, something Saquon Barkley managed to do a better job of
I looked into it and realized that Mickey Loomis has been the Saints GM since 2002. This guy has been there since before Hurricane Katrina, before Sean Payton and Drew Brees. This team needs to clean house and start over in the worst way.
Agree with your Carr take. He isn’t insane like some are saying he is. He isn’t going to change the saints. They also keep losing many players, with no salary cap whatsoever. They have aging veterans, (Jordan, Matthieu, Davis). This team is a wreck. This is already an overrated team
Sure buddy, go ahead and make your own video and enlighten the rest of us. I'm sure many will tune in to hear your thoughts so we can "understand" the saints
I don’t have to make a video because it’s not complicated to understand. They purposefully put themselves in so called cap hell. But let me ask you this. Have the saints not been able to sign someone because of money? No the answer is no. Everyone just listens to Nick Wright too much. Now if he doesn’t like Derek Carr as much then that’s his opinion. I disagree. But he can think that. But the narrative that the saints are in cap hell is lazy and wrong

And what do the Saints need to fix, exactly? Coaching aside, at least.
I think Waller trade for the raiders was an A he is always injured.he is never available
Baker is going to take the bucs into the post season
Everyone's all hard about Darren waller, look at his last two seasons... he's finished.
I think Panthers will win the division
A healthy Baker Mayfield is gotta be an upgrade over a broken down Tom Brady Maybe not by much but in this division he's already the best and yes I'm talking about you Derek Carr 🤨
So the NFC South is now the QB Retread Division.
Retread Division???
How so? Don’t you have to have some tread initially before you can actually BE a retread?
I'm so sad that Darren Walters going on the giants
You forgot Jimmie ward to the texans
Javon Hargrave isn’t a big pick up I guess😂
There are no guarantees for any of these teams for the upcoming season
Carr wasn’t the problem in Vegas last year.
McFraud was! Take away his 6-0 start with Denver (for obvious reasons) and this sorry excuse of a coach is sub .300.
I'm gonna go on record and say the waller trade was like a B+ for the Raiders and I stand by that.
Brady to Baker will kill them, Brady pulled like 4 games out of his ass last year and baker just won’t do that
As long as Todd Bowles still coaches that team, they won't ever become relevant again no matter who they bring to the roster.
no gilly to dallas?
Weird disrespect to Orlando lol
“Veteran” for Baker Mayfield?
im kinda over the Carrbage narrative.
Well I feel had rich besciate is the Head coach Raiders get to AFC championship
W vid by the w goat
Jon gruden couldn’t evaluate talent if it slapped him in the face a josh McDaniels is a patriots coach nothin eve good comes from that tree
I’m not going to attack you like other saints fans but I do think your take will not age too well
thoughts on theeric kendricks signing?
In the playoffs anything can happen… yes 6 seed Steelers and Packers teams have won it all, but were led by HOF QBs, not Baker Mayfield or Derek Carr 😜
Another year of the NFC south motto “somebody’s gotta win it” with a “dream team” of starting QB’s: Dalton(so Stroud/Richardson can develop), Carr, Mayfield and Ridder(or whoever ATL drafts and ruins their career by throwing them to the wolves).
That’s the distinction, when you have a HOF QB you can win any game. When you have Baker you need him to not lose you the game.
Carr is the best QB the raiders ever had, not his fault he was drafted to a dumpster fire organization
Gannon and Stabler are two of the most overrated QBs of all time before you @me
Agree completely
Pure nonsense. Carr won nothing. I am a 53 year Raider fan, and glad he’s gone.
@Skye Horvath. Carr won nothing??? That just proves that a person's age has nothing to do with the ability to understand the game. If you've been watching that long and think that Carr was holding the team back, then I'm not sure what to say. 🤷
I've been a fan since the 70s and will be until I die. Until they figure defense, we're not going to be successful.
@@dl9232 I am not the one that posted that Carr is the best QB that the Raiders ever had. That’s just pure horse-shit.
jimmy G MVP 2023
Give me some of what you sre smokin. Jimmy G-string is not the answer.
@@martinm.438 Super bowl appearances don't lie
@David Luarca Temps don't go to the super Bowl man
As a Giants fan, I can only hope the trade with the Raiders gives Danny Dimes some weapons.
Ramsey trade???
Tremaine Edmunds?
with that new contract, danny dimes becomes the BEST QB in that division
Carr is a true average QB but the Saints system could be what he needs
Agree with your Carr take. He isn’t insane like some are saying he is. He isn’t going to change the saints. They also keep losing many players, with no salary cap whatsoever. They have aging veterans, (Jordan, Matthieu, Davis). This team is a wreck. This is already an overrated team
Disagree hard on the Carr take. that was just a bad bad take xD
Carr isn’t even better than Young or Stroud coming out lol Panthers are winning the division of just off the strength of FA even before QB convos
If you don’t understand the saints you could’ve just said so. No need to make a whole video exposing yourself
What did he even say that was wrong lmao
He did say so. And if he has made “a whole video” about them, this isn’t it.
Sure buddy, go ahead and make your own video and enlighten the rest of us. I'm sure many will tune in to hear your thoughts so we can "understand" the saints
@@YouJustAmazeMe Go watch Nick Underhill
I don’t have to make a video because it’s not complicated to understand. They purposefully put themselves in so called cap hell. But let me ask you this. Have the saints not been able to sign someone because of money? No the answer is no. Everyone just listens to Nick Wright too much. Now if he doesn’t like Derek Carr as much then that’s his opinion. I disagree. But he can think that. But the narrative that the saints are in cap hell is lazy and wrong
go cheifs just saying
