8 Months later I found one on ebay. Thanks for the video, wouldn't have known to go hunting otherwise. The 'always-caps' texting can be awkward...everyone thinks I'm yelling, when, in actuality, I just don't have a lower case alphabet on this phone.
Still using my 5190, Simple, rugged, long battery life, easy to use keypad, even while weraing gloves. Plus it prevents one from being totally engrossed in the web, allowing real personal interaction with fellow humans! Can also be used as a weapon, wheel chock, etc.
It's either a 5160 (like Max said), 5165, 5180i, or 5185i. The 5160 and 5165 operate on TDMA and AMPS only, which no longer work, and the 5180i and 5185i are CDMA, which should theoretically still work in the US on Verizon or Sprint. There is also a 5180iP, which is the prepaid CDMA version (most likely TracFone).
Hi it is now jan. 2021 happy new year. I used to use nokia 5110 in early 2000s i loved that phone it broke and i lost it. I would love to have it again
It has 1 bar. These phones are GSM 1900 which does not travel as far as 850. So at my house they happen to be in a spot where they jump from no service to 2 bars.
As long as it isn't asking for the unlock code, it should be functional. Have they stopped 1900mHz voice transmission in your area? 1900 is also a pretty weak signal, try going outside or something.
had this in 1998 one of my first phones then I got the 3310 in 2001 which lasted five years, theses old Nokia phones are so good tuff and reliable. I've had loads of phones since infact I got a Microsoft Lumia 435 last sept land it's not working. I'm thinking about ngetting an old Nokia phone again.

I use this phone as my secondary phone on T-Mobile prepaid. I installed a retractable antenna on it... It looks really cool! Great video!
Nostalgia!

You need a snake review that would be awesome.
I have a Nokia C3 and a Nokia 1100
Have it like 5110 in Europe, watch my retro review about it ;)
Just picked up one of these for $2 today! The main housing looks like it'll fall apart at any minute though... :/
I got one for 30 cents
No sim slot in mine...
Must be a 5160 or something. All 5190's take SIM cards.
I had my Nokia 5110 on the one2one network and the dog so was terrible people called it the one 2 none network lol 😀
What The Fuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Electromagnetic Interference
*1998
They're cool but pretty new and not that unique.
